I've eaten here at least 30 times in the last few years. When I'm in the mood for burgers, I don't go anywhere else. The Cheddar Jalapeño burger is so good, single or double. The staff does their job, in my opinion, and I usually get my food within 15 minutes, unless they are really busy. They had a BOGO offer right before the holidays, and it saved me from cooking. Had a chance to go to Smashburger last night and it was quite the treat! They are under new management and from what I can tell things are going really smooth. Staff was friendly and informative. We had the black bean burger (ok wow even if you aren't a veggie you will love this one), chicken burger, fries, onion rings and chocy milkshake. We brought home a cheeseburger and chicken strips for our kids. All of the food was warm, fresh & delicious. I highly recommend getting the fries with oil & rosemary. It's been several years since my last visit, and there were definitely notable changes. As with yet another upscale burger chain in the city, prices have increased substantially. On the menu, one item - the crispy onion strings - has been replaced by more ordinary onion rings. As these used to be my favorite side, I was a bit disappointed when placing my order. Thankfully, I was not disappointed by the food. I ordered a 2 patty bacon burger, topped with bacon (obviously), american cheese and tomato. I omitted the lettuce and mayo, but, having ordered a side of onion rings, put those two of them on the burger. The burger was much improved from what they served years ago. The quarter pound patties were juicy, properly cooked, well seasoned, and with the toppings, didn't even need ketchup. This burger justifies its price. The onion rings were also high qusality, though I have to quibble the portion, since getting onion rings in single digits just feels wrong. While these are definitely a high quality side, The quantity could be just a tad higher. When I'm paying over $17 for a burger and a side at a chain restaurant (no drink), I'd like the side justify what I'm paying for the meal in prtion size. The burger definitely did, though, and both were high quality faire. I can't say 'eat here daily', as that would be pushing it for a lot of people, but if you want a good meal at a reasonable price for treating yourself, or lunch out with friends or colleagues, this is a worthwhile place to choose. read more

Walked in around 1PM this afternoon and stood at the counter with no one behind it. After a minute, there was someone behind the counter, but they weren't even looking in my direction and seemed to be preoccupied talking to someone else. A minute later, someone (a manager, I think) brushed past me and started talking to the employees. A few of them engaged in conversation, none of them looking in my direction. I said "excuse me," but they didn't hear me over the sound of their own talking. At no point did anyone look in the direction of a customer, some of whom were waiting for mobile orders. In our current world where bizarro happenings are sadly becoming more commonplace this falls right into the mix. While certainly not a matter of life or death, my story bears repeating in hopes that other future patrons might have a better customer experience at Smashburger than I did. It's also all about holding businesses to account for the promises they make to their customers. I have had previous issues dining at the Smashburger franchise located in White Plains NY; so much so that management gave me a "free entree" voucher card in the mail as a mea culpa in hopes of keeping me a satisfied customer. Because of Covid safety concerns I have not frequented this Smashburger location since before the pandemic. While cleaning out my wallet this morning I found my free entree card (see attached) which has the expiration date crossed off and a signature of Mr "Ray (Valetti)? in its place. I thought today might be a good time to finally redeem my free entree voucher card! Upon submitting the card to the cashier he claimed it was expired and no longer valid. I explained that the card was indeed current and valid as the expiration date was crossed out & signed by a Mr Valetti from the Smash Burger corporate marketing department. I asked to speak to the manager who also told me my card was not valid even though I clearly pointed out Mr Valetti's signature and so consequently this superseded any expiration date required in order to redeem it. To add insult to injury this "manager" who was not wearing any proper identification tag (see attached pic) & didn't identify herself by name. I'll also add she was quite dismissive, extremely surly, & actually got belligerent when I took her picture. Without getting into details if this person exemplifies management for your establishment, she is clearly not an asset and in dire need of re-training. To say that an organization is not not well run, doesn't honor their promises, or value customer service is one thing, to experience this disastrous trifecta 1st hand is another. Suffice it to say, definitely not a good look for this franchise or their flagship brand. What should have been a simple mike drop was a big time ball drop. After my absolutely horrible interaction today I certainly won't give Smashburger another opportunity to disrespect and embarrass me by patronizing their restaurants in the future. I rarely eat hamburgers at fast food chains, but I enjoy a good hamburger occasionally. I thought Smashburger was a better quality product than a fast food chain like Burger King or McDonalds, so I stopped by this location. They are undergoing renovations, but I was fine with the construction in-progress interior. Unfortunately, my $19.78 meal of hamburger with fries & Diet Coke was awful. It was a thin piece of beef that smelled off, and it was literally falling apart on a bed of wilted lettuce and tomato. Tasteless fries on the side. Really disappointing. Seems like last 6 months there been a lot of changes for the worse. make me sad because After a bad experience at local five guys, Smash burger became my go to place for burgers. However this location has had issues for a long time. Most of time employees are really grumpy and clearly don't want to be there. Lines are often long and order mistakes are common. All things I can look past. But sadly this last meal forces me to leave this review. 1st staff were grumpy and not happy to take our order 2nd shake my son ordered was not given to us until we asked for it and that was when we were almost done with our meal. And now for the worst!!!! I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was raw inside( barely unfrozen). How does that happen? I could see serving some chicken on the rare side still a little pink, but this was cold raw chicken. 3rd They closed the bathroom 1 hour before closing. 4th prices have gone up with less to show (they were stingy with the fries barely filling the little box. This is one of the more appealing and less bank-breaking burger options in Westchester. I've found the employees here to always be super friendly, and service is pretty efficient, so I come once in a while when I am craving fast food. Unfortunately, the SmashFries leaves a lot to be desired. I like that they are shoe-string fries, meaning they are very thinly cut. They are also nicely seasoned, but I found that them way too limp and soggy by the time I got around to eating them. The burger was a winner though. I finally got around to trying a beef burger - specifically the bacon cheeseburger - and I thought it was fantastic. The beef was a little dry, but I guess I wasn't expecting a medium rare burger from a fast food chain anyway. I do appreciate that they give you a bunch of topping options (definitely take advantage of this!!) that don't come with an extra charge. I was in the neighborhood so I decided to stop in for a quick bite. There were a few patrons dining in but restaurant wasn't busy at all. Extremely convenient for me... or so I thought! The cashier was a short female with really short hair who wasn't pleasant at ALL. You can tell she didn't want to be at work. I ordered my "go-to" the truffle mushroom Swiss burger and fries. Shook off the disappointment of my first crack at the Smashburger chain in Cortlandt, NY and sat down for the featured ($4) French Onion Double and a malted Oreo shake. Redemption. Unlike in Cortlandt, patties were fried hot and long enough to develop a satisfying Maillard crust, with umami notes accentuated by the French Onion's grilled onions and Swiss Cheese. Surprisingly, the premium burger remained intact through the eating experience (unlike the mess that results from Five Guys or Carl's Jr's/Hardees). One star off for general uncleanliness and unprofessionalism. No excuses for smeared grease and dried condiments on laminated menus, as well as for poorly wiped tables at 11:30 on a slow Saturday morning. I found and grew to love Smashburger when I was a student in Arizona, so when I saw that they had locations all the way over in New York, I just had to go and try and see some of the regional differences. I happened to be in a bit of a hurry when I came because I had a train that was coming soon. I wasn't sure if I would have enough time to eat everything. Boy did I not have to be worried. This particular Smashburger location blew me away with their customer service. The staff was friendly and accommodating and made sure that everyone was doing okay. Not to mention that though the place was fairly busy when I went, my food arrived almost right after I sat down! They put the fast in fast food. I ended up ordering the Spicy Jalapeño Baja Burger something I hadn't seen in Arizona but was on this New York menu. This burger comes with fresh jalapeños, guacamole, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion and chipotle mayo on a spicy chipotle bun. Along with that I got tots and a Salted Caramel Milkshake with Oreos. The thing I've always liked about eating in at Smashburger is that they give you the milkshake and the container they made it in with the leftover of the batch giving you almost two milkshakes for the price of one.
