    Rocket Za pizza!

Came for the pizza, stayed because Shelby was absolutely running the place like a legend. Seriously, every person at the bar looked happier after talking to her. Cold IPA, incredible Rocket Za, great music, and somehow Shelby made the whole place feel like a party without even trying.

Lovin' the new Annex, and even better with Keegan, Kaity, and Matt.

So much to love here at the new Validation Annex. Both the food and beer menus have something for everyone. And their spacious indoor and outdoor dining spaces are very comfortable. Thanks Matt and Kaity for keeping us all fed with your delicious menu items, and thanks Keegan for the excellent food recommendations and service. Can't say enough about how much we enjoy both the Fried Chicken Sando and the Spicy Chicken Sando. And complimented with their Karaage Nuggies and Trufallo Cauliflower . . . delicious! They also have a nice Pizza selection, both pies and by the slice. Perfect. And yes, their beer selection is incredible. We always try something different, and the servers are best at making sure everything is served nice and cold. Right now my favorite is their Honey Blonde. Refreshing and delicious.

We stoped by on a lovely afternoon and sat on the patio. We had a few bites to eat and all were very tasty. Wings, Philly sando, truffle fries. Homemade ranch and blue cheese were bomb. Easy to order up at the bar. Lots of beer choices. Also I like the bathroom situation. It's all single toilets with a main washroom. Seems like a great new place to hang out. We will be back.

I came here this past weekend and I had a great experience! Our bartender was Laura and she was so awesome and so knowledgeable on what was on tap! (Don't come for me, I can be a little indecisive when it comes to beer) She was able to help me out and find out the perfect drink for me. Wow! I ordered a smash burger to share and wow! It is so delicious, I cannot wait to go back! Parking is easy, and there are plenty of seats indoor and a pet friendly patio! I would definitely drop in and give their smash burger a try!

So excited to have a new open air casual food and drink spot in our neighborhood! So far I've only tried the pizza and it was tastey. Service and atmosphere have been great! I would like to see them get some more breakfast drinks for 10am games (mimosa/ michelada) and nonalcoholic drink options (without stevia). They haven't been open long so I think the menu is still evolving. I'll keep checking back to see what's new!

Great craft beer place - and the majority of great tasting beers are GLUTEN FREE. Yes, you read that right. I love craft beer and I could not tell it was gluten free at all! The food menu was varied and I enjoyed the truffle cauliflower with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese. It was amazing! The service was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful in making sure you made the right choice. What are you waiting for?

Nice new second home for Validation Ale in the De La Vina/ Mission neighborhood. Welcome. Friendly staff, open air atmosphere. Great brew beers and other wine, seltzer options, plus non alcoholic drinks. Menu offerings some great thin crust pizzas. Family friendly and comfortable seating indoors and out. Great place to gather with friends and great Sunday football experience. Now if we could just get our team to win.

There are limited beers on draft, but they do have a nice selection to choose from (tap, bottled, can). Smaller sized pub that welcomes dogs and people alike, super friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Sports playing. Biggest down side from my experience was; what I can only presume to be the bar owner's dog, urinating inside on the floor. The (presumed) owner of the dog (and bar) was oblivious/ignored it all. The bartender, when notified initially, ignored the wet floor when we called it out and dismissed it as a water leak. He later came out after the second report of wet floor, and mopped/sanitized the area where it was wet. Several people walked through the "wet spot" and went throughout the space. Whether it was dog urine or water, it is still a wet floor. Please note, I personally witnessed the dog actively urinating when she came over to me for attention because she wasn't getting it from her owner. Final opinion/review from me on this space is please go and support, the staff are attentive and do a great job, but also consider it is potentially may not be sanitary throughout.

The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and full of good energy from the moment we walked in. I had the MadeWest Hazy on draft served in an ice-cold Pint, exactly what you want on a warm Santa Barbara day. My girlfriend had a great time, and the whole experience felt effortless and fun. One of the coolest parts of the visit was meeting Chris, a local who told us this is one of his favorite hangout spots and where he brings his dog Harlo. He gave us some awesome local recommendations and really added to the laid back community vibe that makes this place special. The bartenders and hosts were all attentive, friendly, and professional. You could genuinely tell the staff enjoys what they do, and that energy carries throughout the entire place. It's refreshing to see hospitality thriving like this in Santa Barbara. The place was full, including indoor and outdoor seating, great ambience and light level, and lovely string lights above the seating outdoors. To start they bring over a delectable dill popcorn which was a rich, salty, dill and butter creation. Totally set a fun tone for the meal. Then we had the crispy Brussels sprouts (ORDER THESE!!!) they were divine, the sesame and lime combination was reminiscent of a great pad Thai, with the perfect amount of sauce and tiny bites of figs which all worked together in a way I wouldn't have expected. For the mains we had the shrimp toast and the pork ribs, both fantastic both well portioned and both 10/10s. Pork ribs fell off the bone easily and were spicy and tangy without overdoing flavor and the shrimp toast tasted like a great gumbo sauce and the shrimps were big! This is a meal I'll be thinking about and recommending to others for a long time, thank you Lark!

The restaurant was busy. Our server was great. She introduced herself (Giana I believe she said) and helped us understand that the intent of the menu and dining approach is a sharing format. The plates and portion sizes vary depending upon the item. Cocktails: The Lark has a very interesting (in a good way) cocktail menu. Our party tried 5 different cocktails. Everyone loved their drink and commented on how well made they were. Food: The restaurant provides complimentary dill pickle popcorn (10/5) as a snack to get your appetite moving. This unique popcorn flavor was one of the best things I had all night. Everyone in our party agreed. We ordered 40% of the menu. The standouts were the fried chicken (5/5), the duck confit (5/5), and the pork ribs (4/5). Dessert: The chocolate pot-a-crème with banana cream (5/5) and donut holes (5/5) were both very tasty. We had a real good experience at the Lark. My only comment as a first timer was gauging how much food to order. We found the menu items in the Farm and Ranch sections were entree sized plates, while the Ocean section plates varied in size considerably. We consequently over ordered and wasted some food. Although our server Giana was helpful, we could have asked more specific questions to assess the quantity of food better. We enjoyed the restaurant vibe, cocktail program and many of the plates. If I lived in SB, I would have dinner here every other month and enjoy the dill pickle popcorn and the fried chicken with their signature Paloma to wash it all down.
