Finally a FABULOUS place for Mexican food in Oroville. I admit to being a snob about restaurants and sadly, the service is so poor and food quality inconsistent in most restaurants here in Oroville, so Vallarta is really a treat. The Chile Verde is like I'm eating in someone's home - so delicious and served with love by the staff. Had the carnitas second visit and am going back for more. The flavor of the roasted meat and seasonings was delicious. I highly recommend the charo beans as a side. Wow! The building is modest, but clean and pleasant. The service is great - friendly and happy to have customers. I wish the establishment best of luck and prosperity! April 24 2018 My husband and I where going to have lunch. The host sat us at a table and gave us menus. No one came back to ask us what we would like to drink or order . A waiter took the order of another couple sitting behind us that came in after us. May husband said to the waiter we where here first , he just looked at us and proceeded with taking there order. Never to say the least we got up and walked out! Bad service! We will never go back! read more

This is our first time here and will definitely not be the last. Everything from the service to the food is excellent. The Chile Colorado is the best I've had in years. My husband had the Steak Ranchero and he loved it. This gives us a reason to make the drive to Oroville. read more

Since this placed opened I have never gone to any other Mexican restaurant in oroville and don't plan to. I've been to all the others in town and this is the best by far. The food is authentic, big portions,fast and friendly service with down to earth prices. What can one say about a restaurant that not only is thrilled to see you as you walk in, but thrilled to serve you with a giant smile. The chips were fresh and the salsa was the perfect combo of tomato's and spices. We tried the Chile relleno and the Pollo asado burrito. Both were very good. Burrito had fresh chicken with good spices good gaucamole and other ingredients. The relleno was a big poblano pepper with lots of jack cheese or queso fresco and a tasty sauce on top. Rice and beans were also good. Waiter and hostess were friendly and welcoming. This place is closed before their listed closing hours. I showed up to grab a quick on the go burrito, while on the road, away from home. Pulled up to this place, LOCKED DOORS, with workers inside during business hours. Got a brief look, a smirk, and nothing else. Entry denied. Barely even an acknowledgement, which leaves my girlfriend unfed, hangry, and unsatisfied. I get we all have families and time restraints, but don't list yourself as OPEN, of you are NOT. read more

Had family here from Colorado last night. My son had eaten here a few times & highly recommended it. We couldn't have been more pleased. Very busy & crowded @ dinnertime on a Monday, good sign. We got last booth. Our waitress was scampering, but so efficient and pleasant, didn't mess up order at all. 4 of us ordered 3 different meals & all were more than satisfied. My family and I are SoCal transplants where every corner offers an abundance of great Mexican places from taco shops to fine dinning. We laughed every time we pass by Taco Bell in town and seeing how busy it always is. After eating at several Mexican places in Oroville, I now understand why The Bell is so popular, however I still prefer cooking my own traditional authentic dishes over Taco Bell. We were happy to hear a new place opened and tried it last night. This will now be our go-to place when I'm not in the mood to cook. Fresh tasty dishes, well seasoned and good quantity to boot. My son had the carnitas, my husband and I ordered the combo plates with enchiladas, chili relleno, and chicken taco. My daughter ordered the asada street tacos. Since we arrived after 5 pm we we offered a free bowl of tortilla soup (awesome) chips, two kinds of salsa and bean dip were delivered when we first arrived. Looking forward to trying their Menudo and chorizo con huevos on our next visit. All that is missing is a full bar! read more
