We were in Oroville running an errand and just happened to find this place. The food was tasty, and the salsa spicy. They give you a small bean plate along with your chips and salsa. I always judge a place by the beans and rice. I really enjoyed the beans. The rice was way better than most other places that, I have been to. My husband ordered the Chile Relleno and it was not only huge, it was very good. I had a combination plate with shredded beef tostada and chicken enchilada. So much food! I didn't finish, but it was very tasty. Loved their little kids menu. My daughter enjoyed her bean burrito. Too bad it's not closer to where I live. read more

Very good food and the bean dip was off the hook but their service is terrible. The restaurant wasn't very busy at all when I came in and it took about 45 minutes before we were even asked for drinks. We were there for at least an hour before we got our food. Went in with my husband and toddler daughter on a Monday evening for dinner. There were about 4 other tables besides us. My husband got the beef chile colorado and I got the shredded chicken chimichanga. The flavors were great, portions were huge especially compared to other Mexican restaurants in town and the service was fantastic! We also loved the complimentary chips with bean and salsa dip! Will definitely be going there again to try out some of the other food they have to offer. Great restaurant! Recommended. read more

My husband and I were in Oroville for a concert and we were craving Mexican food so we stopped in Vallartas. The servers were friendly, the restaurant was very clean and the chips and salsa were good. Our entrees were delicious! I had the 9 oz carne asada with beans and rice and it was the best I've ever had! Period. My husband's chimichanga was very good as well. We were so full from cleaning our plates we didn't have room for dessert, maybe next time. Overall it was the food that was the star, the servers were attentive, the decor pretty dated, but we will be back even with the hour drive. read more

What a great place to stop in for a meal. I stopped in tonight which is Monday restaurant was a little more than half full, even though this was the case I was greeted very quickly. I went in to do a takeout order and was still treated very well. As I was looking over the menu my server seen that I was unsure as to what to get, he then told me about the lamb shank that was the special of the night. Now like most people I am picky about lamb. But I seen someone having it and it looked amazing. After I ordered I was quickly brought chips that were amazingly fresh and crisp and just lightly salted just the way I like them. I was also brought some salsa that was also very delicious to have while I waited for my order. I live about a half mile from the restaurant. But when I got home the food was still real HOT. As I took my first bite of lamb OMG it was some of the most tender, Juicy piece of lamb that I've had in quite some time. And that's saying something considering I grew up on a sheep farm. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for amazing Mexican food. If I could I would give this restaurant 10 stars all day long. read more

This place is seriously the best you can get in Oroville. My husband and I have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant and we finally found it! Everybody is so friendly and welcoming. Our server was amazing. I don't remember her name but she did mention she just started working there. For being new to the job I was really impressed. She knew her menu and was really attentive. We never had to wave her down for refills or anything. Now the food... IT WAS SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS!!! This is our go to spot from now on. It's nothing compared to Papacito's... that's the White- Mexican type of food.. only went once never again! This restaurant is down the street from CVS.
