I frequent this Vallarta on a weekly basis. I've never encountered a single problem in all the years I've been here, but Thursday was the first time. I was at the self check out and the lady there was on a power trip. I checked out my items and added a bag for 15cents. There was nobody around to get me the bag so I got it myself. The lady came and saw me and got upset I took one. After that she checked her screen to make sure I had paid for the bag and came over to me to look at my stuff I had in my bag. She grabs my bag of bread(bolillos) and says she needs to refund me and re ring them up because I entered the code wrong. She was so proud of herself for doing that! She said I needed to pay 50 whole cents more. Wow!!! Definitely power trip. I gave her the 50c while she held my bread hostage and gave it back once I paid her the difference. This store is super clean and they were the first in our neighborhood to begin implementing Covid safety precautions. Their produce selection is outstanding and inexpensive. I've bought fresh meat, cheese and tortillas without any issue at all. All of their employees are very friendly and helpful. I noticed a lot of bad reviews were geared towards their pre-cooked foods but I never come here for any of that. Unless it's chips. I come here for their take home pre-seasoned meats/salsas. There asada is fire and they give a lot!! so one steak is equal to 1 pound I've always made the mistake of getting three steaks or four steaks because I'm used to the small local markets that give very thin cuts. Not this place they give huge cuts of meat. So keep that in mind when ordering your carne Asada. Their pastor is bomb too it's seasoned Hella right I just add pineapple in my pan before I cook it..I just like it that way... But the seasoning by itself is delicious! And their salsas are amazing! I went to this store and bought grounded fish for ceviche and one marinated chicken boneless thigh to try out the marinated. When I got home opened the grounded fish and it was bad. The smell was disgusting. The chicken was also bad, both the chicken and fish were spoiled. I don't understand why the butcher didn't catch that it was spoiled while he was bagging it for me. Totally unprofessional. The ladies working the kitchen ignored us for a while, and were short with their answers when asked about freshness of the food and what was available from the menu. I ordered half a dozen tamales the beef, the sweet corn, and the cheese and chili. The beef tamale is so dry the masa has a plastic texture the beef inside is dry it crumbles and tastes like it's chorizo. The cheese and chili there was no cheese in site either they gave me the wrong kind or they are miss advertising the product the masa on this one was also dry and hard like plastic. Great way to get your Mexican grub on! Just finished a soccer tournament nearby and need to feed the family at home. I found this Vallarta Market on Yelp and decided on taco night for today's dinner. Parking was easy with a huge parking lot. The ready prepared foods are found at the right side of the store. I chose a whole roasted chicken for $6.99 A 6 bone piece of roasted ribs. A huge portion size carnitas. And a medium size container of refried beans. I paid for all that at the same counter I picked out my order. I found additional items for our taco night. Tortillas, guacamole, chips, & salsa. Customer Service was fine. I didn't encounter rude employees as others reported by other Yelpers. If I can leave 1 star I would. Went to the juice bar today and the service was not great they'd seen me waiting to order and I wasn't helped until I asked who I can place my order with. You can tell they do not like their job by the way they looked annoyed. So I went and sat to drink my agua fresca and only had one sip of it, mind you I have a sweet tooth and don't mind things being sweet but this cucumber lemon drink was by far TOO SWEET! I've never gone to ask for my money back for anything food wise but I had to for this. When I went to the lady I did say "I'm so sorry but this drink is very sweet she replied with a attitude "they are supposed to be sweet". Lol I know aguas frescas are supposed to be sweet but these tasted like they put a whole bag of sugar in the container. I like to get the fresh squeezed juice here, but lately I've been noticing there has been chunks of all different types of fruits and veggies (today was cilantro?) that also end up in my cup. I don't think they clean the machine or any of the parts between orders. It's a shame because I really love their selection and juice menu. Also, the juice bar ( which also has three other menus for other types of beverages and foods) only has ONE person working every time I go. The poor staff seems completely overwhelmed and the line piles up. Maybe if they had another staff there would be sufficient time to clean the machine and not feel rushed. read more

Friday night I went to Vallarta to buy meat because I wanted to make a good meal and I know the meat is good and fresh there. So it was like around 9:30 and the meat attendant, a young man, had an attitude and I told him what piece of meat I wanted and then he asked replied with an attitude & he told me "Charles quieres?" With no respect whatsoever. I want management to train him well on how to treat customers right because he had one of the worst horrible attitudes I've ever experienced. I prefer if you could just train him well because he was very disrespectful. If I go back again I will surely avoid him and ask for another person to help me. OK so now this place is the supermarket extraordinar its a cross between , Costco, Tijuana and the Ventura swap...meet with air conditioning. This place is packed.. all the time! with both people and products. Its like a Vegas casino, they have everything you need so you don't want to leave and don't need to go to the other casinos.....supermarkets. PRODUCE: if you don't buy it here you are paying double. case in point ginger 3.50 a lbs @ Ralph's 1.39 lbs here and they are huge. MEAT: Ridiculous amounts of different meats with different marinades fresh fish YOU NAME IT! fresh bread, Mexican desserts YUM! a multitude of salsas, guac and cheeses. There is a restaurant too you can eat on site hey, just like a casino...sorry. The rest of the store has more food than i want to type about. you want a guitar we got um! what other supermarket can make that claim! If you live in in southern Calif and I mean Visalia down( which is about 1/2 way you can find one). they have a section for on one side of the store were there are a group of Little rooms with sliding doors that vend to the market patrons for other stuff like car insurance and direct tv you can even buy boots and cowboy hats and Quinceañera dresses. I had a fun time shopping here today. It was like a field trip for me. I am so excited to have a Vallarta near me. This so is great!! So much variety at great prices. I loved the juice bar!!! I had a juice that tasted great and at a great price. The people working here were friendly and helpful when I asked for an item I was looking for. Well stocked store, plenty of parking and almost every check out lane was open. That's unheard of anywhere. Plenty of tables to sit and enjoy food from the taqueria. Great place. Just newly opened. It is huge (seriously, the carniceria/seafood counter is like over 100ft long), clean and everyone who helped me was very nice, polite, and helpful. Although some of the items are a little bit more expensive than your neighborhood carniceria, the sales and specials will make up for it and your check will be lower overall. But just an abundance of Mexican Delights and enough high quality traditional staples that you could do most of your shopping here. They have a whole large grocery section, large produce section with great prices, butcher shop, seafood counter, ceviche/seafood cocktail bar, bakery, fresh tortilleria, taqueria, prepared food bar, dairy, and "La Isla" which is a fresh salsa bar as well as juice, smoothie, and agua fresca bar. Out of all the vallartas I've gone to this has gotten to be the worst one when someone doesn't have enough founds to pay for something because of the circumstances that were in I think there's a way of telling people to take stuff out of and not making it a big deal so other customers could hear the situation it's already embarrassing enough . Not complaining about the cashier the complaint is about the girl that was helping the cashier that made the situation worst and made us feel uncomfortable. I think you guys should train your people not to be rude and to be understandable about the situation at the end of the day we're all human and we shouldn't be treated the way she was acting . read more

This is a great supermarket. They have great prices and delicious food. My husband and I got some tacos and they put a lot of meat; plus the cilantro, onion, and salsa are self serve. This place is hit and miss. The goods - It is always cold inside, like a nice ice drink. Makes you want to stay in the store and sit down on a hot day which you can because there is a little cafe inside to get your taco fix on or fruit and ice cream. They make yummy (half homemade / half machine) tortillas, not as good as homemade but better then the premade chemical ones. Homemade beans, rice and all kinds of yummy salsas. The prices are great on the produce & meat. Checkout lines are fast. They also sell non food products at reasonable prices (shoes, brooms, dishracks etc). The bad - Most of the cashiers and sales floor employees are rude and not helpful to those of another race. I've witness it on several occasions, not cool, can't we all just get along. I've also witness employees restocking perishable items left out for quite sometime, tip - no one wants melted ice cream or sour milk. Bread / conchas are a good price but found hair on them (separate occasions). Allergey notice needs to better inform on items that are cross made with peanuts. Some produce is not always fresh, and it does take a couple days for them to replace the bad with some fresh ones. read more
