My go to Vons in Oxnard! This one is huge and will have anything you need. Good all in one grocery market. Came to pick up some last minute ingredients late at night. Great that they're open late even though their meat, deli, and bakery counters may be closed. They still sell meat, baked goods, and food though. Just no worker at the counter. Pharmacy was also closed but it was late almost closing time. It is great there is drive up and pick up, as well as handicap parking. Lots of parking in the plaza so no worries about that. They did a great job thinking about accessibility as their cash register line also has an accessible aisle for wheel chairs with more space in between. There are multiple shopping cart returns throughout the parking lot. Their wine and alcohol aisles just got upgraded! They now have a wine cellar. Looks super nice. Great variety. The fresh produce Is super fresh and always organized. Great deals on the meats however, their seafood is not great quality in my opinion. It is awesome the Starbucks inside opens late and early as well! For any late night work grinds or early morning coffees. They also have a public restroom at the front of the store turning left near the deli and hot foods section. During the day they have a worker at the flower counter helping with bouquets and gifts. I had to make a trip out to Walgreens that is nearby this shopping center. I wasn't up for tackling Walmart for a few grocery items so I popped in at Vons. The produce appeared to be better quality than I have seen previous weeks at Aldi and Walmart Neighborhood Market. I picked up several items to make a chicken stew and the prices seemed comparable to those other mentioned stores. A bag of carrots was $1.99. Russet potatoes were $0.99/lb. Yellow onions $0.99/lb. Fresh bunch of Italian Parsley $0.99. Chicken legs were $2.29/lbs. Then I decided to check out the fresh breads made in store. I picked up 2 Artisan Sourdough loaves that were still warm and steamy in the bag for $1.99 each. Some things were obviously more expensive even with an advertised member price like Tillamook zero sugar smoked sausages that I love. I just picked up the small package at Target on sale for $4.99. Vons wanted $5.99. Since it was about 8:30am on a Saturday, there were only a handful of customers here when I was and no one in line; so I was checked out quickly. Asked for the passkey and proceeded to open the restroom, there was a man in there that didn't lock the door!! I'm SO excited! This location finally put self checkouts in the store! I love that I can grab whatever I need and immediately or almost immediately get in line to check out, no one needing to see the junk food or multiple times of something I may or definitely may be buying. :) Vons has the stuff I'm looking for 9 out of 10 times! This location is clean and well-stocked, and the cashiers I have encountered here have been friendly. The only thing is that the prices here must be on weed cause they're high! I typically only go here if they're out of something at Walmart. But at least you can find the thing you're desperately looking for if this place is a last resort and quickly get through the line by using the self-checkout line! read more

I bought these and it came moldy! On the same day I bought this bag (which expired a whole month later) I started boiling these for dinner and at the bottom there was mold. Store is very clean with a good produce selection but hot deli is awful. Vons responded to a comment I made on Google and told me to submit a contact request which I did. To their credit, they responded quickly, but it was obvious from the response that whoever read the email read the first line, then passed the rest over. Switched my shopping to some of the local markets and bodegas. Some of the selection isn't quite as good, but the quality of the produce is good and the service is always impeccable. Count your money in front of them!! And count it out loud. I asked customer service for change for $40 that I got from self check out. She only counted $30 and left. My son said she counted wrong and for me to double check my counting. When I did, I noticed she shorted me by $10. When I told her she shorted me, she dismissed me. I had the money right in front of her and counted it in front of her. There's surveillance and people around me. I had short sleeve with a dress and a small purse. How can I hide $10? Customer Service on S. Victoria Ave is awful! Yvette/manager spoke to me very abruptly when I was trying to just get a credit for a package of Dr.Pepper minis that I was charged for and never received. As if I was trying to do a shady return when I had receipts and then told me I had to provide credit card used on transaction, like I couldn't be a person who could qualify for one. Then when I asked about the credit for customers that were overcharged for an item, which I think that I was, because I was charged for an item that I didn't even get, just kept trying to talk over me asking if I wanted to talk to a manager. At that point I didn't even want to talk to her, and I had to ask 3 times to just please process my credit for the soda so I could leave. I went to purchase a cake from one of their glass enclosed display but there was no one in the bakery area to help me. I asked the lady behind the deli for assistance and she told me to go and request assistance form one of the cashiers. I went to ask one of the cashiers and she paged for assistance. I stood in front of the display for 15 min and didn't get any help until I heard another page. Five minutes later an employee came to box the cake. But she couldn't write anything on the cake because she doesn't work in that section. She told me to buy instead the candles that spells "happy birthday". This is a perfectly fine Vons on Rose Ave, right off the 101 Freeway. It's easy to find and the store is clean with wide isles. Their women's restroom is kept clean enough, and well stocked. The parking lot kind of sucks but if you can get over that, this is a good place to shop. When I stopped here a week or so ago I was looking for an herbal supplement and didn't see it on the shelf. An employee in the pharmacy asked if he could help me and when he agreed they didn't have what I was looking for, he offered to try to order it for me. This isn't my regular grocery store but I was very happy that he would be willing to go to that extra trouble for me. Good work! I normally don't do really BAD reviews but this is really BAD!! Vons at 2101 No Rose Ave, Oxnard. Delivery service for 12/17/22 order placed at 7:10am. Delivering only available between 5-9pm. Normally you're given updates on your order status. Only update from our shopper was it was being done. But, they're running behind time. Our time would be between 9pm-10:25pm. We waited until 1:00am! NO SHOW!! So I followed up this morning with Faith. She apologized n did some research with Rep of Shoppers. Mgr Romi Rios as to what happened. ?? No answer just busy. Also, that my order will be delivered on Monday! No this is not acceptable! Our order should be delivered this AM! I requested that Mgr calls me. I'm still waiting! Also, shopper/driver should not get an automatic tip of $25.00. I believe in tipping but you have to earn it. Keep contact with your customer! Also, don't write in your tip the customer dose that! Vons I'm still waiting for a callback. UPDATE! Mgr Philipi took charge and corrected this problem within 30min. Daniel in the customer services personal shopper area took care of it all and our order will be delivered at 9:30am. Also, provided me with info to call them directly instead of the on line 800#. This store was pretty beat up before the remodel, but they've definitely turned things around. They didn't change the layout too much, but it looks much cleaner and a lot more modern. It looks like they're installing some EV charging stations outside. They also got rid of the old rusty picnic tables outside so there's no more bums hanging around there either. I was at the store Monday the 11th of may. I was so disappointed at what I saw and heard. I watched a woman clapping her hands yelling HEY no no get to work. Then she says to the gentleman something about getting them a babysitter. I walked towards you to se her name so I could talk to the manager. I was shocked to see it said store director APRIL. I was so disappointed and I called my husband who also is a manager for another company. He told me to address it to her and let her be aware people heard you and that is unprofessional. The people of this Vons are freakin awesome. The management is uber nice. Dan, the assistant store manager, is courteous and friendly. Frank, the store director, always asks if I found everything okay. AND YOU KNOW WHAT?! The one time I couldn't find hoisin sauce, he actually walked me to where it was! No, he didn't grab a checker or a bag boy to show me. FRANK DID IT HIMSELF. Kudos to you good sir. The checkers go as fast as they can every time and the badgers have not broken any of my eggs yet. The staff is usually polite and friendly, store is usually clean and tidy. Only bad thing was one time I purchased a few items and asked for no bag, since I didn't need one. However, one of the employees, an older blonde haired woman with glasses that I never really liked when I go there, assumed I was stealing as I was walking out the door, despite being a regular customer that shops there more than twice a week. On multiple occasions we have found moldy and rotten produce still on the shelf. We have also found milk and other foods that were close to expiration. The last experience we had at this Von's location we actually removed the expired product from the shelf (3 gallons of milk and 3 containers of cookie dough) and brought them to the cashier to discard. Lines in the checkout lanes are usually long, with 3-5 people in line even during slow hours.
