i already gave this market a one star on google maps. but the cashier alma is rude at the juice bar. also the juice bar was the only spot behind the counter where i found cold mexican coke bottle. all i wanted was to buy my vegetable oil with it and she gave me attitude and tried to call security when i tried to pay for both items at self cash out so i wouldn't have two transactions. bad customer service. that's why i love stater brothers pasadena and now despise this place. read more

I felt like a kid in a candy store as soon as I walked in. They have everything!!! I'm sure this will be my new favorite store but I'll be sure to come very early in order to avoid the crowd. I can see parking and traffic being a reason to not return. During my visit people ran through stop signs even with me walking w/ a stroller and a small child. I love this store. I can't tell you how many times I've come in here and I always leave a little bit happier than when I came in. They used to play a combination of Latin and R&B which I loved. Lately it's been more pop. Which is ok, but I wish they went back to the original playlist. The smell of good food fills the air. I usually get fresh meat from the butcher which is well priced and always good with no added dextrose water or whatever is put in most meats at other stores. I think what I like the best is the fellow customers. They are always so friendly. Today as I got in line the people in front of me were sharing that they were from back east and as they left we all said good bye and wished each other a happy holiday. And as I got to my car, a couple of young men, one with dreadlocks and a rastafarian hat said hi, asked how I was and I said good, but a little tired from work. They both stopped getting into their car and offered to help me load my groceries, which I gladly accepted. I thanked them and offered a tip, which they refused. We said good night and they climbed back into their hot rod and we went on our separate ways. Yes, its definitely the people that make this the best place to buy food. This review is for the menudo and the cocido (Mexican beef stew). My wife was excited about the store and liked the appearance. She picked up these items just for us to try out and we were both disappointed, but we're hopeful that they'll read these reviews and try to improve. The tripe and the hominy in the menudo tasted rubbery and not completely cooked. Same thing with the beef in the beef stew, it tasted as if it needed to be cooked a little longer as it was on the "tough" side. So please improve these two items and we'll be back. We live in Eagle Rock and usually go to Super A in Highland Park but if your menudo is better we don't mind going an extra mile. read more

this vallarta is so fancy. it's like the whole foods for mexicans. i love it! the ceviche is good. they have a hot food bar with soup, tacos, tortas, all of that. they have so much masa. the seafood and deli section looks clean. i like this store. some stuff is a bit pricey but it's usually worth it. read more

I'm obsessed with this grocery store. I love the whole concept and how clean it is. As a Latina, I'm proud to see a market that carries so many products from a wide variety of Latin countries and though their prices aren't as cheap as a regular ranch market, they have quality, fresh items. It really feels like they are trying to take the typical Cheap Latin market and blend it with a high-quality Whole Foods type of market and I love that. In terms of items to try, taste their spinach pineapple agua Fresca and their barbacoa in the hot foods section. Both are delicious! Their homemade salsas are pretty tasty too. The only thing I don't like is their homemade chips... I'd suggest trying a different recipe because they're pretty tasteless. read more

So I don't usually shop all the store, but I do always go for their Juice bar. The barista Andy is so friendly and cool. He makes my drinks exactly how I like them. I have been to many other places, but I really like the way he makes my drinks and makes me feel. He is always happy and gives really good customer service. I feel appreciated when I go to his station. I like the store, it is clean and they have almost everything you would need. The prices are a tad bit high, but the quality is good. Their grand opening was yesterday and there are a lot of things that need improvement. They share the parking lot with Starbucks and with Blaze pizza so expect a lot of cars. While there are a lot of selections, the lines for the prepared foods is confusing. Also, check your receipt before you leave because they overcharged me for my purchase. Instead of the promotion price on the eggs, they charged me full price for the eggs, even though I did not go over the promotion limit. Also, instead of charging me for my poke bowl, they charged me for a roll that was more expensive than my bowl. They have a lot of samples around the market and there are a lot of options for groceries. Would I come again? Maybe after the grand opening hype dies down but for now, I'll just stick with Super King. read more

Very big store w lots of variety! We have inadvertently left some items from our cart and left the store. When we went back a few days later WITHOUT the itemized receipt, I thought chances of getting those forgotten items would be slim. The manager on duty without skipping a beat went and pulled up video footage from our check out process, and let us get our items w no problems. He even reminded us of items we forgot about! Went to the hot food counter to purchase the buffalo wings and potato wedges.... both were horrible... the wings seemed like they were baked first and then lightly dipped in buffalo sauce... if you're looking for the crunch don't get them.... the potato wedges tasted like they were refrigerated, they reminded me of the wedges I had in high school. read more

My wife went there the other day and got some chicken and they took for ever it's like they didn't know what they where doing, she also got meat she got a number and when they called her number some other guy walked up with out a number and the meat guy started to help him, my wife told him that she was next and the meat guy said that he would help her after even tho he called her number. Back to the chicken which way pathetic, meat off the bones and it looked burnt. I will keep going to ranch the real place to get got service. read more

This Vallarta is by far the nicest Vallarta I've been to. Very clean and nice. My only issues with this place is for some reason they have the aguas frescas seperate from the food line so you have to wait in line twice, something that is not the case at other vallartas where you can get food and drinks at the same place, I don't understand why they are seperated here. This is pretty annoying since there is no one usually around at the drinks station and you have to wait for a cashier to notice you to actually walk over to the register. I really like the seating area for the food court, very similar to how whole foods just with a hispanic twist to it. I feel like prices here are more expensive than other Vallartas I've been to but Pasadena in general is a lot more expensive than surrounding areas. read more
