Used to go here with my dad when I was a little kid. Dad bought a lot of hunting and fishing gear here. We came down to visit family and decided to go visit the old shop. Wow it's really changed. It's very nice, and had a lot of jewelry and musical instruments. Got a nice amp and guitar for my son's graduation. I'd definitely make another trip into the shop when I come back into town. I was searching on OfferUp for a particular item for my spoiled grown daughter and found it at valley Glen jewelry and loan pawn shop! And the surprise was they were giving it away complimentary of the shop! It was an 8 piece starter kit for her portable Nintendo hand held game. It was completely brand new never been opened. There was a guitar I wanted to look at, so I stopped by Valley Jewelry and Loan to check it out. Upon arriving, the place was open but they weren't letting anyone inside, due to the virus situation. I didn't know I couldn't make a purchase but understood the situation. I visited right before closing and think the person inside the pawn shop had probably endured some people that were "less patient" about their temporary virus rules because he gave me a really bad attitude for no reason. I think this guy is part of Management. He was a Hispanic fellow, probably in his 60's. I pawned here, at least 3 times. At first, they were very honest, loyal and gave me plenty of time to reoay the small loans. I was able to keep my expensive mountain bike and Dean electric guitar. This time, I pawned them again. A new, white guy, kept my custom mountain bike and the owner sold my digitial cb radio for my semi-truck. They didn't tell me, tgat I couod oay the interest, to extend my lian, another 6 months. The hispanic owner sold my cb radio and their new worker, kept my mountain bike. They really wanted my nice things. My Dean guitar was hanging, cracked and damaged. I do nit recommend greedy, dishonest people like this. I will never oawn anything with them again, especially of value. They always called me, to advise me to cone in and pay and gave me extra time with several calks, to remind me. I decided to visit this local pawn shop. I parked in front of the location and as I entered I was asked to move my car forward. I removed my vehicle and decided to withdraw some cash in order to make a purchase. Upon my immediate return, there was a vehicle parked in the middle and I parked further away from the business. I approached the employee and expressed my disappointment at the fact that this was not being enforced as he suggested it was earlier. I then explained to him that I have made numerous purchases at this location and also  everyone knows who I am. I informed him that going forward I would no longer consider this business. I asked him again why this rule only applies to me and he stated that the customer was going to make a large purchase and that I no longer mattered because I am not his customer anymore. I explained to him that he lacks the customer service skills required to engage with customers. Horrible customer service, A lady was attempting to assist me with a loan on jewelry I had. A man yell from across the way. We can't come close to it. They never even check the gold nor did they weight the gold to give me an estimate on the gold I had. All they did was refused a customer. I would not recommend this pawn shop to anyone that lives in the SGV area. Go to the one on Durfee. Better customer service. read more
