I purchased a diamond ring for over $5,500, and just one year and two months later, the center diamond fell out -- with no accident, no impact, and no warning. I only noticed it hours later when I looked at my hand. As you can see in the photo, the diamond simply fell out. I've had rings for over 10 years that I wear daily, and nothing like this ever happened. When I went back to the store, they didn't offer any real solution or responsibility. Instead, they told me they could give me a "full credit" -- but only if I buy another ring and spend at least $3,000 more. This is extremely disappointing and feels like a trap. After already spending thousands, I'm being asked to spend thousands more? They also blamed me for not coming in every 3 months for maintenance, claiming it's my fault for not checking and tightening the diamond settings. Yet even if I had, they said they don't offer any warranty on diamonds. That says it all. Their prices are extremely high, the quality is poor, and their customer service is unacceptable. I will absolutely never return to this store and I strongly recommend others stay away. If I could give zero stars, I would -- even one star is too generous for this experience. read more

I was insulted by the middle-aged female Asian staff. I said I wanted a bigger carat size and she raised her eyebrow. She said if I can't afford it, there are installment plans. I reassured her there's no need; I will pay it once and in full. I also asked for the size ratio and she said "why? You're not going to buy it anyways". My household income is $300k. It was the worst customer experience I've ever had shopping for a ring. I felt so insulted that I got up and left. She did not answer a simple question and insulted me because she didn't think I could afford a $5k ring, when my budget was $15,000 or above. She also asked where I had shopped; I said local stores in Campbell, Santa Cruz and Palo Alto. Out of nowhere, she judgmentally told me not to do that and don't chase "brands". I never mentioned any brands since they were local jewelers, and it was extremely out of line when she was the one who asked me. I will never, ever return here. BAD EXPERIENCE. Valliani Jewelry is in my opinion, a scam. The prices of the jewery are set to extreme amounts. $20,000- $60,000 but Sell for fractions of the cost. I bought a tennis bracelet for $3,000 and was told that it has a trade in value that will never change. Today I went into the store in Livermore, I was able to talk them down on a piece of jewelry that was listed for $30,000 down to $10,000, then down to $3,300. I then told them that I want to trade in my bracelet on the new one. They told me that I had to buy something for double the price of what mine is worth. They had just told me that the bracelet was worth double the price of mine but now that I had talked them down to $3,300 it's not worth that much. Shady, scam. read more

This was by far the WORST experience I've ever had with any retailer. Last Saturday, I purchased a ring that was supposedly a 1.03-carat diamond set in 18-karat gold for nearly $4,000. However, the receipt only vaguely stated "18KG Ring" with no mention of the diamond or its specifications. When I questioned this, the staff claimed the code on the receipt could be searched for all the details. When I got home and checked, the code led to NOTHING--no information on their website or the manufacturer's site. I went back on Monday to pick up the ring and asked for clarification. They dodged my questions and refused to provide any documentation to confirm the diamond size or quality. When I asked for the specifications to be printed on my receipt, they outright denied my request. When I explained that I couldn't take the ring home without proper proof of what I purchased, they flat-out refused to process a refund. The manager was shockingly rude, stating that if I left the ring behind, they'd "drop it in lost and found." This is beyond unprofessional--it's borderline fraudulent. They took my money and refused to provide the basic proof of what I paid for. Save yourself the frustration and NEVER shop here. They don't care about their customers or their credibility.
