The work was well done, within reason, with one exception, they did not put the face back on straight but that was easily fixed. The second time, I went to get a watch battery. I did not want to wait for Sear's. They fixed it quickly and for (a little less) money than Sear's charges. When I went in last weekend to get a watchband, they wanted TWICE (no kidding) the price that Sears was charging for similar bands. The band was marked $65. He offered to sell it to me for $50 and made it sound like a deal. I went to Sears the next day (they were closed that night) and got a just as good band for $28.

Rather than acknowledge or apologize for his behavior, he chose to challenge the feedback. During my visit, alcohol was present in the store and referenced as part of the customer experience. Combined with the way my concerns were handled, it contributed to an environment that felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. A high-end jeweler should be able to handle honest feedback with professionalism, not defensiveness or intimidation. Mark Auerbach still owes me an apology, and more importantly, future customers better treatment. I spent over $9,000 here and expected better. Customers should feel respected when raising concerns. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

My mom tried to order a bracelet for my one year old, but she was never told there would be a $40 shipping fee. The first bracelet arrived damaged, and the replacement wasn't the quality she expected, so she decided not to buy it. Byron became upset and started yelling at her, which left her shocked and hurt, especially after being such a loyal customer for so many years. A few months later, I went back to see if things had smoothed over, but Byron stood by his reaction and never offered any apology. After so many years of loyalty, it's sad to feel so dismissed. Greg Darcy was very patient in helping me decide how to replace the broken part of that one ring and did a great job in re-sizing the other ring. He was also honest with me about the broken ring. I thought it was solid silver but he told me it was silverplated brass. Thanks to him, I now have two rings that I can wear again. He confirmed my suspicions and suggested an alternative setting. Here's the best part: I had brought in a bag of random loose diamonds with me that I had been accumulating over the last several years. In addition to the stones already in my original (flawed) wedding band, he was able to sell/trade all of these diamonds in order to provide me with TWO identical wedding bands! And, he did so at an unheard of low price! The rings are spectacular! If that wasn't enough, as a bonus he took a diamond necklace of mine that had been sitting in my jewelry box (unworn) for 2 decades and transformed it into a stunning set of diamond hoop earrings! The ring was bent and didn't even look like one piece. I ended up taking it to Hollingsworth to see what they thought/could do about it and they said they would fix it for me. When they called to tell me it was ready they told me they had to take the old welds off and completely redo it. The ring looks AMAZING. Like it was never bent and it looks like it is all one piece. They didn't even charge me more for the time and effort they put into redoing it. I cannot believe the difference in the quality. They are truly the best. We expected to leave it for hours or even days, but Mark was there and immediately took care of it in his on site workshop.
