Got the sloppy Joe fries. They were pretty good!! Wish I had more time to go back and try some of the other food options but they looked like they had so many delicious choices. Only negative- Seating area is very small and it's also connected to another restaurant.

First time here - and it won't be the last! All of what we ordered was so tasty and the portions were pretty big as well. I'm sure total fan of the Chicken Parm Burrito with a side of ranch! Sidenote: it's comnected to Donna Jean, so you get the best of both worlds (sit-down and fast food)

Vegan comfort while traveling. On a recent work trip to San Diego I was looking for vegetarian/vegan options and came across Vals Vegan Kitchen on Yelp. The atmosphere was pleasant, the staff was friendly and explained the menu. Most importantly the food was delicious. I will definitely plan to visit when I'm in San Diego again.

    8. The Mashy Smashy.

Found this Heavenly Gem on Google. Chose #8 Smash burger (V) w/ cheese & mashed potatoes and gravy. OMG! Highly recommend! So cheesy, creamy, chewy, mashy. Fries were hot and made to order. Not crispy but not limp. Just right. A tad salty but as you can see I didn't mind too much. It wasn't super busy so I got my food and about 10 minutes. The counter staff is very friendly, and I was created by a barista with a great big smile. It was kind of calm and quiet as everyone was just doing their own thing, but it was a very chill warm and welcoming environment. Cannot wait to go back and try something else.

We first tried this place last weekend. We ordered 2 simple menu items. Parm Mac n cheese and a burger with fries. The parm Mac n cheese came out as a parm chicken sandwich. The burger came out and it was the wrong burger. We sent it back. The next order burger came out missing the burger patty and onions. Sent it back. The third time the order came out the Mac n cheese was ice cold like pulled straight from the fridge. The 4th time the order came out the burger was still wrong...they used bean instead of impossible. We just ate and moved on. Both of us felt sick the rest of the night. We let the owner know via instagram and we were happy to give them another shot as sometimes it's just an off day. Welllllll we ordered tonight and I went to the bathroom. First bathroom was out of soap and toilet paper. Decided to walk into the other bathroom only to be greeted by a giant cockroach. If this huge thing is wandering around in the bathroom then there has to be hundreds of them all over. I've been a chef for 20 years. I hate leaving reviews like this but someone is going to get extremely sick. We canceled our order and requested a refund.

I triedthis place for the first time about a week ago and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the mustard maple chicke'n sandwich with the waffle fries with 'cheese' and gravy. Phenomenal! Because it was my first time I was kind of stumbling through, but the staff were great and offered recommendations and explained some of the dishes.

A new vegan restaurant to add to my favorites list!!! The mashy smash y burger was so good!!! Felt so good in my tummy! Happy service. Lovely people. It was hard to narrow down my choice to just one item. Even the fries are perfection

Do you use pre made patties or make them in house from scratch?

We use impossible beef that we shape into patties ourselves. Our black bean patty subs are house made, our veggie patties are made by a local person. We also offer beyond as a sub and those are pre-formed patties

Which vegan egg is used?which brand?

We use 'just egg' patties on our sausage and egg burger

The raw vegan renditions of old time favorites are nothing short of delicious mysticism, bringing past and future into a single moment of transformation and pure bliss. This is the future of food luxury, a healing sanctuary to consciously nourish, and Peace Pies is blazing the path. I cannot give enough praise, absolutely legendary and inspirational. Peace Pies is an absolute gem!…read more If you're looking for fresh, completely gluten-free food that actually tastes incredible, Peace Pies delivers on every level. Everything is raw, thoughtfully prepared, and you can truly taste the quality of the ingredients. The chef is hands-down amazing and somehow manages to turn healthy food into works of art. I ordered the buffalo wrap, which came with kale chips on the side. It definitely has a kick to it, but it's balanced by an entire rainbow of vegetables packed into the wrap. Every bite feels nourishing, full of vibrant ingredients that feed your body with different vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. I also ventured out and tried the freeze-dried durian. The texture immediately reminded me of a Lucky Charms marshmallow, although it's much less sweet. The flavor is incredibly difficult to describe--mild and subtle at first, with a fleeting savory note that quickly transforms into something almost tropical, like guava crossed with a nutty vanilla cream. It's unique, delicate, and unlike anything I've tasted before. For dessert, I sampled the Butterfinger and Twix. The Butterfinger filling has a green hue, which might surprise you at first, but don't let that fool you. The chef has somehow recreated the classic Butterfinger flavor in a raw, healthy version. It's not quite as sweet or crunchy as the original, but the flavor and texture are remarkably close and absolutely delicious, this is definitely a must try! The Twix was my personal favorite. The layers of caramel, cookie crunch, and chocolate come together perfectly. The balance of flavors is simply incredible. I've tried several items from Peace Pies over the years, and this place has never disappointed. The menu is creative, fun, and proof that healthy, raw, gluten-free food can be absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! Once in a while the workers are busy working in the back, prepping food and creating recipes- so you may have to get their attention... If they hear you come in, you're greeted immediately with helpful guidance to the menu. I came on prior occasions with my best friend who has many allergies and is of dark melanin- I state this because of a prior ill review regarding preferential treatment based on skin color. That has not been our experience. And I hope that review doesn't deter anyone from trying out this place.

Unfortunately on my morning walk this week, I noticed the restaurant is empty and there's a for lease sign up. To be honest, the food was good but not cravable --I never felt the need to go back. They have a really nice selection of both vegan and non vegan options. Ordered the Garlic Edamame, Karaage Bao Buns, and Crispy Gyoza. Garlic Edamame was delicious! It had that perfect combo of chili and the garlic was just right. And by just right I mean LOTS of garlic. Little side note, they didn't provide another dish to discard the eaten ones and also had to ask for plates which made a bit of a mess when you are sharing a bunch of small plates. Karaage Bao Buns were so good that we wound up ordering another order. If someone had ordered these and not told me they were vegan I would have never know. The texture of the Not chicken was perfect and the rest of the added flavors from the aioli's and garnish were well balanced. Our least favorite was the Crispy Gyoza. The ends were perfect combo but the middle was mush and the texture and flavor was not spectacular. It might have just been the cook but the the ingredients seemed like they were too wet when they were fried. Service was the absolute worst. Had to ask several times for our drinks when tables that were sat well after us all had theirs. I would come back in hopes the service was better but what a let down when we were there to celebrate and were ignored with the servers passing by us and not checking on us.

They had three veggie items on their menu (and one bean/rice/cheese burrito) and the "vegan option" was to remove the cheese. That didn't exactly leave us with answers about how their beans are cooked or if they used butter or crema in anything else. there are two self serve ordering kiosks and this place was open late and popping off so staff was busy/too busy to answer questions. it looked like people typically order a LOT of food too. i got one keto taco and a side of beans and my vegan bf got a veggie quesadilla w/o cheese. there is a salsa bar to the side with 5-6 available choices but all of them are marked as spicy. they called my name so i went up to the counter. there wasn't any food on it and the guy was busy talking to someone so i just waited. then he went to the mic and called my name again, saying my order was ready. i was like "hi..that's me!" and then he asked the kitchen for my order. like, what? you called my name twice and my order wasn't even on the window? baby, take a beat. the food looked pretty good! it came out on a tray with pickled onions, sliced red radishes, and a lime wedge. presentation was lovely. the table next to us got these dope looking nachos that immediately gave me fomo. the quesadilla was huge and had a bunch of chopped veggies in it. but of course, without cheese or any binding agent, it all fell apart with the first bite. i was more annoyed with my bf than the restaurant for that, but he said it still tasted good and filling if not difficult and disappointing to eat. mine tasted fine. i've had really great mexican food in sd and i get that birria is a specific vibe, but what kind of place does ONLY birria and then sells the consome separately?

We ordered their vegetable tempura, pineapple fried rice, and panang curry. Everything came out hot. All was good except the pineapple in their fried rice was spoiled. We brought it to their attention, and they corrected it right away. They explained it was canned so they're not sure how it could've been spoiled. We were unable to eat it. They made us a fresh new hot plate. They also brought us everything we requested like condiments and boxes. The lady was very nice about it. I couldn't hate on the place. It's just sad to see it dead compared to how it was before. The economy is really tough, and too expensive to dine out.
