There are definitely gluten free options! Now it's labeled on the menu. The only thing that change is no more free refills on the chai tea :( The food is still good and service is fairly fast. Can get loud when it's packed but pretty zen-ful overall.

Had an early dinner.430pm. Ordered the dinner special for $20. Ambiance and service always good. Food came. The entire dinner was luke warm, not hot.Soup, curry and rice. Chutney had small bubbles.Fermentstion? Pre-prepared- not cooked to order. Portions small. 2hrs later-unexpected bowel flush. Sad, I didn't order the meatloaf. Suggest temp checks on food.

Thank you Jyoti-Bihanga for the healing and healthy delicious food choices. The service and ambience have been great. I am a regular customer now.

A well-loved gem in the neighborhood. Perfect place to practice conscious eating. Slowing down to savor every flavor, texture, and the impact of your food on you, the planet, etc. For an entree-sized salad, I highly recommend the Yoga Bowl. It is my favorite meal to reset my stomach. Extremely filling and so delicious. Homemade beet hummus and lots of other crunchy satisfying veggies. Rama Bowl is also great. The coconut "bacon" on top of the patties and brown rice is super tasty. Clean food at a decent price. I also highly recommend any of their rotating daily soups as well as one of their fresh juices to go with your meal. Looking forward to trying one of their weekend breakfast buffets soon.

I am not vegan/vegetarian, but I'm really glad I gave this place a visit. The food was simple but still very yummy! Lots of bright flavors. Super calm, peaceful, mindful vibes in here, I loved the interior design. The staff were so friendly and informative!! Great lunch spot.

Maybe the BEST chocolate mousse in the entire world, everyone here is like always all smiles, customers and staff alike. This place is super mellow, super chill, laid back, and all relaxed. This is certainly gourmet-level dining accompanied by an affordable and for a easy on the wallet attitude. Parking is not bad, I've seen worse, like it's doable 4 sure. They always have various soups and desserts that change daily, Today I had the Mushroom, the hot cornbread goes nicely with the warm butter, this is the place my friend, and it will never end. FYI: Pay in Cash, 3.5% reduction in total bill...There's ur tip...LOLOLOLOL

This place is... interesting. Yes, that is my pick of word. Their dishes are healthy-leaning. Service was great. I believe they are serviced by a commune? If nearby, might stop by again. But not anywhere I would seek out.

I LOVE this place. I come here every time I feel the need for real nourishment and real tlc energy. Always the perfect meal to add to you self care day. I usually come for lentil soup (a usual soup of the day option) and their salad combo with lemon tahini dressing a fresh and hearty meal. But this time it wasn't on the menu yet, so I got their special of the day, the black miso ramen which was savory.

The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and healthy! Even my husband, who eats red meat, loves eating here! The carrot cake is beyond yummy!

I am typing this review as I'm finishing my meal at this restaurant because I couldn't wait any longer to rave about the delicious food from Jyoti-Bihanga. First of all, the place is super cute and welcoming. I was seated immediately and I started my food experience with a hearty lentil soup that warmed my soul. I also ordered a Choco Chakra smoothie and for an entree I got the Rama Bowl (that coconut bacon is ). I loved every single bite! Hands down, best vegan/vegetarian restaurant in the area. I can't wait to return here and try other meals from their menu, which I'm sure will be equally exquisite.

    Leslie P.

I love this place SOOO MUCH! I'm not veg but sometimes I'm craving healthy plant based food & I'm not good at making it myself. Every other veg place I've tried so far is tasty but it's very processed because of all the faux meats. This place is hearty, fresh & makes me feel amazing after I eat. Not to mention the space is bright and inviting. I'm genuinely considering painting a room in my house the color of the restaurant because it just feels so good in there. & to top it off, the food is actually reasonably priced which isn't often the case for veg places. So far we've had a coconut lentil soup, a coconut veg curry, the Rama bowl & the neatloaf. I would get every single thing again. I also order the tropical sunrise smoothie everytime I go in. Tip: pay in cash!!

Vulture is dead. Long live Kindred!…read more I'm glad my prayers were answered. I guess I prayed to the right deity, because the Vulture Martini is back. I have had a few martinis in my day, and this one may well be the best. The Dirty Martini may be the second best. I'd probably stop there, but my wife loved her Brooklyn during our last visit, and she is not even a big fan of peach. Skewers are still great. I missed out on one of the pickled things. Was it a pear? Not sure. The carrots were good. I missed out on my opportunity to try the French Onion Soup at Vulture, so I was really happy to see it on the Kindred menu. Surely this could win over carnivores. Vive la soupe à l'oignon française! Maybe I will try the Steak Frites next time, which I think is another Vulture holdover. It was great to see Kindred busy on a Monday night. Let's support the vegan places, people. Peace

I've gone over the past decade with friends/family alike and 60% of the time it's been solid. As I've looked around before posing, it seems the restaurant is in a steady spiral downward over the years. I've had great service here and it sucks to say this evening was such a poor experience. I hope everyone working can be on the same page moving forward to avoid this happening again to others. I decided to come by for birthday dinner and figured 8pm was a decent time to still get great food and service. We made a reservation in advance and got to a table in 5 minutes. That's wonderful, always love that for anyone. The non-alcoholic drinks are always a favorite as someone who's been sober for years. However, it all got much more complicated after that. After not hearing or getting any updates from the server for 50 mins on our appetizer, we asked if everything was ok and if they had potentially forgot about our order. It's happened before no worries. The server said no and it just takes a while. That's fine and fair, it's to be expected on a skeleton crew for a Wednesday night shift. It was odd to see at least 4 tables and groups who had been seated after us get their food before us. When we got our Doom Bloom, around 8:55pm, over 50% of it was burnt to a crisp, the smaller mushrooms had been completely blackened to a point where you could just taste charred. Something tells me this is not the best way to serve food to others but what do I know as someone who's been coming here for years. When we got our Mind Melt and BBQ Jackfruit, which was another 50 minutes later now around 9:40pm, these entrees had met the same fate. The BBQ Jackfruit sourdough was so dry and burnt it tasted like a saltine cracker left in a campfire as a joke. The fries were overcooked, super dry, and stale all at the same time. It's like it was left in the heat lamp for 30 minutes or far too long to be enjoyed for what would be great food. My partners food thankfully wasn't to the same degree as mine but still not great. We were checking with ourselves quietly to make sure the other wasn't loosing it or if we were missing out on something. People will be people and that will never change. I hope some else won't have to spend over $100 with tip included to get the same service we got. I cannot imagine how bad things are behind the scenes for this to be a standard the staff are okay with and that they perpetuate based off other recent reviews in this matter. It was embarrassing and a waste of money. I do not recommend coming here given how this situation has transpired. My stomach still hurts while typing this review on my sofa at home.

It took a long time before our order was taken and to get our check. We weren't in a hurry, so we weren't too bothered by that. Also, the stoppers on the water bottles needed some scrubbing or replacing; they didn't appear especially clean. Saturday night after a show at the theater down the street, we were walking along Park and decided that was the night! It was almost 9 o'clock when we came into the charming house-turned-restaurant and asked if it was too late to get a table. We were assured it was the perfect time and seated right away. Our lovely server, Melissa, offered us expert guidance on the menu. We went with her suggestion of the roasted mushroom appetizer and were floored by them. I wouldn't expect to be so stunned by mushrooms of all things (I can only think of one other time and beer batter was involved then) but they're wonderfully seasoned and have unexpected crunchy bits. We completely cleaned the plate, scooping up all the spaghetti squash accompaniment. Our mains were also delicious, a fava bean and a lamb entree with cabbage and lentils as the sides. Melissa delivered extra injera without us even asking, and gave us the excellent tip as we headed out to add our leftovers to a pan of scrambled eggs. We did so the next morning, and ate them with our crisped up leftover injera, a very tasty cap to our experience with Muzita!
