This store advertised a specific chair on sale for Veterans Day. Being a veteran myself it got my attention. I paid $10 extra to get a brand new chair shipped to the store versus taking the model since it was offered. Guess what?! The chair never shipped, I was charged and they refused to right their wrong. They have asked me to buy a more expensive chair offering only to comp what the cost of the discounted chair I wanted was. I will NEVER be back to this store. We purchased a furniture set several years ago. It cost upwards of $3,000. Since we have had it, we have had it repaired and the entire set replaced once due to poor workmanship and breaking down. We purchased the extended warranty (which is a joke) and were supposed to have a 5 year warranty. It has been 3 years and the warranty company has said nothing we have issues with is covered. However, they are the exact things that they took care of before! The quality of this was HORRIBLE! We decided to spend more money to get a better set. Well, what a waste of money! We bought a couch that we loved, however they outsource their delivery. The couch came with a huge black stain on it. I called customer service immediately they said they would need to have someone come look at it and clean it if they cant clean it they will replace it. Even though we paid for a brand new couch fine. Cleaner comes can't get the stain out, so he puts in an order for a new couch cushion. 4 weeks go by no update or anything. I call customer service again. The lady I spoke to is so rude I almost call her out of her name. She tells me it could take 4-8 weeks for it to come. Do not do business with this place. I will never be returning to this place ever again. The products seemed fairly priced and good quality, but their customer service is horrendous. They delayed my order on THREE separate occasions ranging from 2 week delays to 2 month delays (where on the last one, they contacted me less than 24 hours before delivery where I already made arrangements to receive the delivery). When I ultimately cancelled the order, they refused to give me a full refund due to "Manager Policy". Each time they called me to delay, it always felt like they believed it was my fault somehow and that I need to adjust to accommodate their customer service reps. He had a great sense of humor and double checked on somethings for me as well. I was supposed to have the furniture I purchased on March 29 delivered today April 6.. I was told to put the mattress and the box spring of each bed I plastic bags they provided me with.. both of my bedrooms are empty now.. I made about 4 different phone calls and they rescheduled my delivery for April 13 because for some reason my delivery was never scheduled.. I need something to sleep on tonight and the best answer I received was they will reimburse my credit card 10%. Buying from the store is a breeze they will ensure they get your money however when it comes to delivery they will disappoint majorly, I ordered a bed in store with Kevin Leyendecker June 13, 2023 and was given a delivery date of June 27th. I was not contacted about the bed via email phone text or anything, today June, 27th i had to call in order to get an update. They told me there is a glitch in the system and my bed was never ordered, the soonest they could get my bed to me was Friday June 30th. The bed was $1000 including delivery fee and she only wants to give me $100 gift card for their mistake and failure to communicate with me. The gift card isn't even able to be applied to the bed. Wow. Lots of reviews about people unhappy waiting for furniture. I had a fine time with no wait, but I definitely went about things differently... It's a pandemic people. Unless you've been living under a rock, everything is broken. Logistics have been shot to hell. If you need a particular style or want a certain look or have your heart set on one couch, be prepared to wait. and wait. MOST places have long waiting periods except for overstock and warehouse like stores. But after shopping around at a couple of these stores, I was completely unhappy with my choices. I'm prepared to pay for a couch, but considering the cost, I want to like it, you know? I finally stopped in at Value City where I was greeted by Lisa. She was AH-MAZING. I explained I didn't really care what I got - sectional, L-shaped, couch/loveseat, but I needed seating for 6, and I needed it delivered by next weekend. She got on her little tablet and started typing. She then took me to look at four different options. I walked out of that store sooooo happy. She took my terrible furniture shopping day and turned it around. Seriously, she was the best. Guys showed up on time on my delivery day. They even fixed a small problem with the furniture (error on the part of manufacturer) on site so that the two halves of the L fit snugly together. Purchased recliner in store for delivery. On day of delivery I had not received a call about the time for delivery I called to find it. I was told that the shipping was set for the store and that they no one to deliver and the color I ordered was no longer in stock. All the store would do was provide different color and refund the shipping charges and deliver in a couple of week. But I told them I needed the chair to sleep on as I had a new mattress and it needed 48 hours to be ready for sleeping. When I said I wanted a full refund the store did not offer up anything to keep my business. Went in looking for a dining table and surprising found and ordered one. I say surprisingly because I furnished 80%+ off my first apartment out of VCF and I simply wasn't looking forward to shopping at the business again. After browsing practically every major furniture store in the area my last choice was VCF. I walked to rear of the store and tried out three tables of the same model but in different sizes, height and finishings. From the time I walked in, shopped for tables and selected a table I wasn't greeted nor approached by an employee. Walk back the front thinking there were registers there but they were not. They were in the rear of the store hidden behind a tall wall. They did help in ordering the table, unfortunately it was on back order and I had a few week lead time. After a week, I noticed that the in stock available date actually bumped up to just 3 days out. I had to contact the store to move up the delivery. Based on all of this, next time I'll probably just initiate my order online. read more

Ordered a couch online on 7/10 with expected delivery on September 16. Called the store on September 8 confirming delivery for September 16 in which they told me that only one item that came in. They rescheduled my delivery for September 30. From that point on, I called the store and corporate weekly to confirm that additional items came in to complete my order. On 15 September I was told three more items came in that we were still waiting on three more. On September 22, I was told that everything was in except the two Ottomans. Today on September 27 I received a call that my order would be delivered on September 30. I asked the girl if the two Ottomans came in since last week and she confirmed and said yes all seven items were in and that my delivery was to be this Saturday the 30th. Not even an hour later, I get a separate call telling me that my items will not be delivered on September 30 and that only one item was in. I told the lady I was confused because I had been calling weekly and I was being told that more items were in when they were not. I then called corporate, and they said yes, only one item was in. I told them that I had been defrauded by them as I have been calling both the store and corporate weekly and people were telling me what items were in when in fact they were not in. My new delivery date was October 10. I told them to cancel the order in which I was told I would be paying a 20% restocking fee on a $4000 couch. I said absolutely not. I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company and I will not be paying the 20% restocking fee after being repeatedly defrauded by this company. Do not order from this company they will promise you a couch or an item, and then lie to you for weeks. I have phone records to prove that I called multiple times and their systems have it noted when I called and all of their phone calls are recorded. They messed up big time. Do not buy from them! I came in tonight (11/14) around 7:30pm looking for furniture for my living room. I was ready to buy if I found something I liked. There were customers in the store but it wasn't super busy. I couldn't find a sales associate and when I did I had to basically flag him down for help. He was really rude when I asked him a question and basically came off like he didn't want to be bothered. It is uncomfortably hot in this store. It was night time and I was STEAMING in there. I know you have lots of track lighting around the store but fix the AC or something. I shouldn't be sweating sitting on sofas and bar stools. All I wanted to do was get out of there. PLUS the sales people are like stalkers. You say you're just looking and they obviously are competing for customers so they follow you and stare you down from the top of the aisle. They aren't very friendly. I purchased the "happy" couch on 5/10/2020. I was told it was on backorder but my delivery would be 7/7/2020. I was willing to wait the 2 months for the couch. Today it is 7/7/2020 and no one called so I signed in online and they changed the date of delivery to 7/14/2020. I was willing to wait another week but I decided to call and figure out what was going on. The customer service representative stated that the item was experiencing a delay and that I would receive it in September. September!? I took the day off and was expecting a couch, I have an event planned at my house on Saturday and I have no couch. His response was that there wasn't anything he could do about it. Recently picked up a couch at this location. I did not step inside this store so this review only covers the rear customer pickup area. There were some nice comfy couches and not much else. There was no one at the service window so we had to tap the bell. The guy promptly took our invoice and brought out the couch and confirmed that we had the right item. We were surprised when we finally got home as the color was a few shades darker than the one we saw in the other Value City location, but it actually looks better, so everything's cool. I have in the past been inside this location, and agree with Caroline's assessment that the entrance is awkward and a very long hallway. Been waiting close to 2 months for my furniture delivery which includes a kitchen table with 6 chairs and a 3 piece sectional couch. The sectional showed up with only 2 of the 3 pieces and one of them is missing two feet. I am missing a complete section of my sectional, 2 feet for one section that I received and missing all the throw pillows. Worst part is the delivery team had no idea why anything was missing and nobody told me in advance I was just surprised during the delivery with missing pieces. When I asked where my missing stuff is I was told they don't know and that I have to call the store. read more

My husband and I visited this store three days ago to buy a sectional sofa. We have just bought a new home and things have been quite stressful. Our salesman at VCF, Kevin Leyendecker, was wonderful. Two minutes after meeting him my stress levels went right down! Kevin made our furniture shopping experience so enjoyable with his whit and friendly personality. He was extremely informative and helpful and very patient too, answering all my questions regarding my purchase. We got a great sectional and even ended up buying a floor lamp and accent chair too! If I could score negative, I would. We have been dealing with VCF since Black Friday. We ordered our bedroom set which didn't get delivered until mid December. The first time it came the bed frame was damaged. Both side boards and the foot board. Next weekend they came to replace it. Sideboards are replaced but the new foot board came broken . So, again we had to reschedule for them to come out and replace the foot board. So the next Saturday they come again and yet AGAIN, it is broken off the truck. They left, never offered us another date to come replace it said they would call. Well, they never did. I had to call back. They told me they would be here to replace the foot board yesterday between 330-530pm. Well you guessed it no one showed this time! I get a call at 723pm that the delivery truck is outside my house and are running late (no apology either) well, they weren't. No one was at my house. Well I'm livid by this point so I have my boyfriend call to deal with them. We got an apology and yet another appointment for them to come replace it. This would be the 4th time they "come" to replace it, 5th time they have "been" to our house. The only offers we received to make things "right" is $120 refund for who even knows what and a $150 gift card to this horrible store. It is almost 2 months later and I still have no replaced foot board. That's all I want. The furniture should have never even came damaged in the first place, but here we are. I will NEVER shop at this store again. I am also filing a complaint with the better business bureau. Thanks for nothing Value City. read more

Purchased a living rm sectional from this location a little over a yr ago...made a point to purchase extra warranty...when chaise arrived we noticed a small separation in back of chaise...a yr later the gap had grown to three inches and was then told that even though it wasnt manufactured correctly they will do nothing to repair or replace bc of time frame even with purchase of there stupid nonexistent warranty...never again- ill pay the extra next time for well manufactured furniture that seller will actually stand behind read more

I will not ever purchase another item from Value City. I will take every dime of my money and give it to their competitors at every chance. I purchased a mattress from them a little under 7 years ago. The mattress has a 10 year warranty on it, that's apparently just a talking point and not a real thing you can utilize. Normal wear and tear voids the warranty. I have spots that are more than 2 inches deep and seems like would be considered a manufacturing defect. The first contact I had with them was great. Person I spoke with, so nice and helpful. They sent out a tech right away, then I never heard anything back. I called several days later and the woman who answered was nasty and told me my claim was void, when I asked for more details, she shuffled me off the phone and told me to call corporate customer care. Called them, they were confused why I was calling them. Eventually got shuffled to a supervisor who was incredibly rude and unhelpful. There were points on the phone where she just sat in silence not answering me. Lesson learned, I will never spend my money with them and I will tell all people I know about this terrible experience and encourage them to also spend their money elsewhere. read more

I purchased a sectional on Black Friday from 94 West Kemper Rd, Springdale, OH store. I was told my sectional would be ready for pick up January 29 2021. I called the store on the 28th to just check that the 29th was still the pickup date. I was instead told that my furniture would instead arrive in May. After complaining on the phone and finally getting the manager they told me that they actually had one coming on February 2nd... big difference from May. When I went to pick it up they loaded each piece in my car. When I got home and took the packaging off the furniture I noticed that not every section of my sectional was the correct color..... So I called and complained about this and ask if they could ship the correct color and pick up the piece that was incorrect because it is a 40 minute drive from me from the store..... after complaining on the phone I was finally told I could get free shipping but I would have to wait 2 weeks... or I could get $50 off my purchase if I came back and swapped the incorrect color piece. Finally after going to the store and back to my house to install the sectional I notice that the ottoman was missing the legs.... At this point it is frustrating. I will probably call and get told that I have to go back to the store to pick up the legs. I do not recommend ever buying from this store. They do not pay attention to anything. The pickup dates are not accurate. The warehouse does not check to make sure they are giving the correct pieces or that everything is there! read more
