The contractor left all his tools in his truck when he arrived at my place, and was frustrated that he had to go get them when he discovered he'd need a screwdriver to reach my A/C unit, which was sweating and needed insulation. When he saw the problem, to illustrate that point, he quickly wiped off the bottom of the unit, slinging water all over the place. He told me I was in grave danger of water coming down my walls, but failed to offer a clear solution. Instead, he said he'd "do some research" and get back to me. I didn't hear from him for two weeks - had to call the home warranty company to find out he hadn't filed anything because "nothing was officially broken." Seriously, WTF. I wasted $60 on the consultation. When i called to request my money back (he never submitted to the warranty company or sent me a bid on the work they wouldn't cover), he didn't return my calls. I guess I can give him credit for taking his shoes off when he came into my condo... Honestly, if he'd just admit he should've gotten in touch and explained sooner, I'd be disappointed but satisfied. It's the lack of communication that really earns the one-star rating.

They sent someone out once, and they did not finish the job. We still don't have a sun shade, they were supposed to replace some janky looking lattice work under the bottom step, and the work they did needed repairs that they did not finish. I am super disappointed with them and do not recommend.

Of course, you can drop several thousand dollars replacing windows, but it's much more cost-effective to have the glass replaced. I previously used ABILA glass so I called for an estimate. I took his estimate and shopped it to half a dozen companies. Some of the quotes came back at twice what Michael was charging. Others were closer, but please people do some comparaitive shopping before getting ripped off. I'm glad my money went to a small, locally owned business. Michael communicates well and there's never a period where you don't know the status of your window replacements. He shows up on time and ready to work. How refreshing... I rarely recommend businesses or people, but I would suggest you give ABILA glass a chance to earn your business. You, your home and your pocketbook will be glad you did.

He was really easy to work with, via phone SMS and email to find a bathroom frameless shower design that fit my budget. Was cost competitive and showed up on time and did a great job installing the 2 piece frameless shower glass on my tub. I'll definitely call him back to do my other bathrooms too. Regardless of whether you use him or not, at a minimum get a quote from him, just needs measurements and a photo. Its great because it doesn't waste my time if its not feasible. Very responsive, responds literally hourly.

Things seemed good and price was fair, but it took a turn once I paid my deposit. They said they could install it by a certain week. I asked them to give me a week's notice so I could demo my current kitchen. I emailed and called them constantly to get a confirmed install day. They gave me the runaround. I spoke to them on a Saturday, and they didn't know the schedule for the following week. How can a company not have the schedule completed by Saturday for the upcoming week? Customers need to know when cabinets will be installed. It shows how unorganized they are. Finally, I got my cabinets installed. The installers put a hole in my ceiling and covered up a kitchen outlet with a cabinet - which is a code violation. Some of my kitchen outlets aren't working, and I can't reach the covered up outlet. They promised someone would be back to fix these issues. We have been getting the runaround for weeks from them. They keep saying someone is coming to fix everything and no one ever shows up. My favorite excuse - the person scheduled doesn't know how to fix those issues so they didn't go. Excuse me - Why would you tell us someone is coming if they don't know how to fix these issues? We've received multiple dates and times and no one ever shows up. We still don't know if someone ever will. We keep calling, but we are losing hope. Do not ever buy cabinets from here. They are unorganized, unprofessional, unresponsive, will give you the runaround, and waste your time and engery.

I hired Kyle Roberts for a project to add a bathroom and closet to my modest 1000sq ft east side…read morecottage. The project was estimated to take four months for a budget of $140k. Instead, the project took over a year and was $60k over budget. Some of this was due to unforeseen circumstances (like unexpected electrical rewiring to fix existing issues). Most of this, however, was due to Kyle being unresponsive to both myself as the homeowner and his contractors who told me time and time again that they were unable to reach Kyle for time-sensitive decisions and instructions. Additionally, when his team made mistakes (which they did frequently due to a lack of supervision or the wrong plans on set or a litany of other reasons), Kyle charged me for the time and materials required to redo the work. Not only was the project poorly managed and way over budget and timeline, the quality of the work was so poor that I am still dealing with broken plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues that continue to cost me thousands of dollars to repair. All the faucets leak. The doors don't close properly. The floor is so unlevel (despite being an addition) that furniture doesn't fit properly. The HVAC vent in my son's room was covered up so there's no airflow coming into the bedroom. After a plumbing emergency the weekend I moved back in during which raw sewage came up through my new shower because his team had left the test plug in (!!!), Kyle was nowhere to be found. He didn't respond to calls, emails, texts, or messages in WhatsApp and Signal, and I ended up being on the hook for the nearly $3k plumbing bill to repair his team's mistake. Once I finally heard back from him on Monday, he and I agreed to part ways and terminate the relationship. I clearly laid out for him the conditions of the termination in writing, and he accepted. I have not heard from him again and, true to my word, have contracted directly with professionals that are repairing his team's work at my expense. Now I am receiving Intent to Lien notices from the subcontractors that he neglected to pay for work he contracted with them directly. He and I did not have a contract, and there are no grounds under which I am responsible for these payments. Kyle created pull requests for work completed, and I paid them same day. Every single time. Apparently, KYLE HAS NOT PAID HIS SUBS and they are now coming after me. Fortunately, I have documentation dating back to the beginning of the project that demonstrates Kyle's negligence as a General Contractor, as well as the documentation from all of the professionals I've had to contract since we terminated the relationship that are willing to go on record to describe the egregious mistakes and lack of craftsmanship in everything from the framing to the plumbing to the finish out, so I'm hopeful that I will not continue to be held responsible for Kyle's lack of attention and oversight.
