Got my oil changed and drove home immediately. When I drive my car later that day, I hear something and pull over to find that my skid plate is hanging below my car. When examining it further, it appears that the mechanic actually cut my skid plate rather than properly removing it. I think I'll need to get my car fully re-examined by another mechanic because this tells me the mechanics at Valvoline are extremely inexperienced and reckless and I worry about what else they could have done. Went to Valvoline for an oil change because my indicator read low but when I got there they did a manual check and told me it was full and too early to replace. Talk about integrity! You also stay in the car while they do the oil change which is very convenient and fast. I haven't encountered this honestly elsewhere and recommend coming here especially if you're working car knowledge is limited. read more

My first time here, I was surprised that there wasn't a long wait when I went on a recent Saturday. What did disappoint me was after the intake interview, courtesy check of tire and fluids, and soft attempt to upsell other services, the service tech realized that they didn't have the correct oil filter for my van! He recommended I buy one myself and return. They would delete their cost ($10) of the filter from my bill. Ok... I returned the following Monday and after a 20 minute wait behind another car, mine was done after another 20 minutes. I had to remind them to delete the filter charge and, luckily, I had a coupon for a further discount. Came here for an oil change and got a filter changed as well. When changing the filter they lost a p that hold the glovebox together so it kept falling all the way out. They tested my battery and didn't put the cover back on the negative side and left it sitting in the crack of the hood so now it's bent. Being as essential employee, I stopped in during COVID-19 for an oil change and coolant flush. My car was really acting up last night on I-95 so it really had to be done today! Luckily, Valvoline just opened a new location near my house in the Canton area. I really like using them because they are quick, and you can stay in your car while they work on it. I was out of there in 30 minutes! Everything is programmed in their system so they will get it right each time. They aren't cheap but you get a fair price. Welp they really messed up my car- just go here for an oil change NOTHING ELSE. I got my radiator flushed and they broke the tube connected to the car. Couldn't prove it so they didn't take fault that's fine. Got a flat last week and took it to get fixed at Goodyear... they inform me all my tires lug nuts were stripped. My daughter's trusted mechanic is located in Columbia and an appointment is required even for a simple oil change. Because of her crazy and unconventional work schedule, we decided to look for a quick oil change station in Baltimore that is close to her home. We located this newly opened station in a really nice area. No appointment was needed. We drove into the bay and stayed in the car. The friendly and happy manager immediately greeted us and started the oil change process. She explained everything and conducted all transactions through the barely opened car window. There was a huge computer monitor for my daughter to see. All employees were masked and gloved. It took about 20 minutes, a little longer than usual since it took longer to input a new customer into the computer system. The cost was a little over $99 for full synthetic oil, about $13 higher than her usual mechanic. But we are fine with the higher cost because of the location, convenience, excellent service, and all the in place sanitary procedures. SUMMARY: Long wait and may not have the right oil type FULL STORY: This was a flop in my case. The location is well-marked and pretty convenient. They have 3 bays to manage cars, and had all of them going. Unfortunately, I still waited in line for about 45 min on a weekday afternoon. The staff seemed nice enough, and had the lines of cars organized by bay. Although I've had my oil changed at another Valvoline previously, when my turn came at this Canton location, they scanned in the (common) car information only to realize they did not carry any compatible type of oil! Really surprising - that has never happened to me elsewhere. Basically met with a shrug. I was out of luck and out of time after that wait, and had to leave the errand to another day. Still waiting to hear back from the area manager, seventy two hours later. I was told that I would hear from them by the next morning. I spent $900 fixing my truck. DO NOT GO HERE!!! They are not knowledgeable and do not stand behind their work. They messed mine up and will not even call me back. I have now contacted an attorney. The $174 oil change has cost almost $1100 and my mechanic needs me to come back Tuesday as he thinks it may have damaged the fuel injectors that are controlled by oil (diesel truck). $145 for a full synthetic oil change for a 2012 VW Jetta. They charged $99 for a 'euro' oil change and then $10 premium filter fee and $15 fee to remove a skid plate which is 4 bolts. Apparently they topped off my oil/ coolant/ and wiper fluid so I guess that's fair. read more
