Anyone that has one knows the timing chair makes noise when you start it as it gets older. Since using Vavoline, the noise has gone away. I used the full synthetic and was very pleased. On their own website I found a $15 off coupon at this exact location. Called ahead of time for a quote for the total of the oil change, even gave them my car details to make sure. Was quoted $55. Drove up to a small sign that says something like "we don't accept online coupons". [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ask about this and the worker rudely points to the sign and says "that's why we have the sign, you get a free carwash though".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I say "it's not really free if you don't accept online coupons". The total came to $71 which is far more than I was expecting to pay. I let it go anyways. What I can't let go is them unprofessionally saying "We will just charge him for the carwash next time he's here" for me to clearly hear. I may have been frustrated about the coupon but I wasn't rude. Only reason I'm leaving a review is to validate anyone having the same or similar experience. read more

I been coming to Valvoline since I had my first car in high school never have I ever paid 120$ for a oil change here not this location exactly but I'd assume they all should have set prices since it's a big company. Mind you I've had never paid more than 75$ ever with my car I have now and my email receipts can prove it. Been having the basic service here since they opened as Oilcan Henry's. Generally have had good service or wouldn't have kept coming back. Today, went in to get the oil changed in my vehicle and asked the 'manager' if they had a record of when the transmission had last been serviced - it had been a little shy of 30k miles. Stupidly, I asked what the recomended service interval is. "30,000 miles" I was told. Seemed fairly short, but OK, I was there. After I left, I was waiting for my bride and decided to look the service interval up at the manufacturer's website. 45K miles, not 30K. So much for being able to trust these guys. In future, I will be sure to know the service intervals before I go in the drive, particularly if this 'manager' is working. *Sigh* read more

Same asshats that tried to sell me a "required" 30000 trans service when the manufacturer suggests 150000! Also advertising spark plug service on the radio today when every modern car will lock a code and light your check engine light when even one sparkplug misses a few times. read more

I kept getting a $10 off coupon in the mail. Finally decided to use it. My husband was told they don't take coupons. I called the Brookings location and the man that answered was rude and abrupt and said no coupons. I said that I would contact their corporate office, he said " go ahead" and hung up on me. Valvolive changed our oil 6 weeks ago. I noticed a new big oil stain where I parked, everyday the stain was fresher and larger. Today I noticed I was dangerously low on oil. I took it to Quality Fast Lube off Railroad and they notice a leak from a plug that was not properly installed from Valvolines Tech, causing all my oil to leak out. I called Valvoline afterwards to report what they had done. So greatful I didn't lose my engine! Thank you Quality Fast Lube off Railroad in Brookings for saving us from much grief!! read more

Not impressed since new owners have taken over. Service definitely isn't the same. They've turned their hours of operation into something that works for themselves but not their patrons. Opening at 8am and closing at 4:40pm. I called them yesterday to verify hours. Whomever I spoke with seemed burnt out and hung up on me after I gently pressed him on their hours not being too convenient for people going into work at 8 and getting off at 5pm. Done with this place. Guess we're stuck going back to Les Schwab for our oil changes. read more

I have been a loyal customer for more than a decade. I asked for documentation of my visits in order to have my auto insurance premium not be increased. The increase is associated with miles driven per year and the insurance underwriters wanted proof of that annual mileage based on odometer readings at least 6 months apart. I HAVE NO OTHER WAY TO DOCUMENT MY CARS MILEAGE 6 MONTHS APART OTHER THAN THESE OIL CHANGE RECORDS! I stopped by the facility yesterday in order to get this printout and was unsuccessful in obtaining it. I was told that this information could not be emailed. I called back today and was told I needed to provide the vehicle's VIN number in order to get that information. So, I had to call back after retrieving that information. Why not have this information available via the owner's name or the car's license plate number? I spoke with the same employee ("Paul") both times. He took my email address (which I both said and spelled) and he indicated he would IMMEDIATELY send it. It never arrived! As a direct result of this poor, unacceptable treatment, I am now being forced to spend several hundred dollars more for my auto insurance just because these folks would not provide me with the information that I had repeatedly requested. Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere due to the extremely poor and unprofessional attitude and performance of this businesses employees. read more

The only downside to this establishment is that they don't honor Groupon discount coupons. This makes them quite a bit more expensive even from a normal dealership. That being said,for not having to travel and expend more time and gas the establishment is very needed in this somewhat landlocked town of Brookings. The staff is fast and very friendly. WARNING!!!! DO NOT use the Valvoline Oil Changers in Brookings, Oregon they will over charge you for there services and leave the under carriage of your vehicle a mess after charging your fluids. It's very strange at other Valvoline Oil changers they have cameras for you to watch them change fluids/filters underneath your vehicle but no working cameras at this location. They also noted they checked my tire pressures on my receipt but that task was not done. When I called to ask them why the transmission service was higher at this location than others I was told that's what the Brookings franchise charges and was hung up on. I paid $199.00 for a transmission service and all they changed was the transmission fluid. I can purchase the 2 gallons of Valvoline MaxLife Automatic transmission fluid from Napa Auto Parts for a little over $50.00....HIGHWAY ROBBERY read more

This place is the bomb dot com. Fast service! Not the most warmest people in the world but they kinda just get the job done and are quick about it. What I love about this location is that it's a one stop solves all your problems kinda place. The manager asked me if I needed new wipers (which I did) and I was able to get my oil changed, new wipers and my cars other fuels inspected in just 10 minutes. They've also got a car wash drive through right next to them! So it's definitely a great service they have there -and fair prices too. read more

This review is for the store in Brookings Oregon: While the oil change itself was good there was an "extra oil" charge of $15 that was not explained and I didn't understand. When I asked for an explanation the reply was "we guarantee 5 quarts, any more than that there is an extra charge." When I asked what they mean by "guarantee 5 quarts" the fellow did not or could not explain: his answer was curt and rude. What is guaranteed? So what does "Guarantee" mean? I saw no price posted that was "Guaranteed." I would hope that they would guarantee to give me all the oil that my vehicle requires. That will be my one and only trip to that store. Not sure that I will use any of the Valvoline stores again, the price for Full Synthetic was very high. I always use full synthetic and never paid more than $90, even for AMSoil read more

Worst experience I've had to get my oil changed. I waited in line for over 30 mins, which was fine. I started making a playlist for my trip and next thing I know one of the car washer girl is screaming at me to move forward in the most snotty way. A simple "please move forward mam" would have been fine. Or one of the other workers could have simply walked over to tell me. Theres never any reason to be rude to customers especially since now I'll be telling my friends and family about my bad experience. If it is the same owner something is wrong, as the help is crass and no personality, they talk to you like they are a recording barking out instructions, had to ask several times what? I was the first there at 8 and the only one when I left. The efficiency was fine. Felt like I was on a race track. The guy who was in charge was pretty much a jerk, his helper very nice. i'm reviewing valvoline for their carwash excellence... we moved here from the sf bay area where we would get our car washed at a full service carwash with several levels of service, and 2 to 3 workers finishing up each car after it went through the automated wash tunnel. after road trips when there's lots of bugs splattered on the hood, lights, grill, they never could get it clean. so, we'd go home and i'd tackle it myself, grumbling the whole time. fast forward to brookings' valvoline car wash. omg. we just had our car washed, this time after 800 miles of road tripping. the result was the best we have ever experienced. before entering the automated wash tunnel, the gal scrubbed the front with degreaser which prepped the car. when we got home and i got out to check out the front of the car, ready to get my stuff out, i was amazed and incredulous. it was totally unbelievable - how clean and spotless the hood, lights, grill, license plate were. amazing. totally. read more

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST!!! Had my oil changed by RJ & JACKSON. Next day I notice my gauge says I still need an oil change. Checked the dipstick oil was as dirty as it was before I came there. I went back the next day attendants acted dumb when they saw the dipstick. One of them said he knows it looks bad and he would personally fix it immediately but he couldn't make that call without the manager Mark. I told them my receipt says you checked my tires and re filled my fluid reservoirs and that wasn't done either. So they at least fixed those to things on my second trip back. Then after a few days of calling and getting no call back I called corporate who then finally got MARK the manager on the line telling me that's it's normal for brand new full synthetic Valvoline oil to look like that on some cars and that my 4 cyl Chevy sonic burns oil at a higher temp then other vehicles. MARK had an arrogant and cocky attitude about the whole thing and obviously didn't know what the heck he is talking about. This isn't the first complaint. Just ask around this place is bad! RIPOFFS!!! Just go to Coast Auto and get an oil change there Way better people. Hey Mark hope you can live with yourself knowing you rip off the community. Your gonna get bad Karma for this!! And I'm not a lunatic I wouldn't complain like this for no reason if they hadn't screwed me over. read more
