Now that I'm a single, independent woman I opted for the convenience of Valvoline for my oil change. I had a short wait, about ten minutes until I was waved into the bay. Malik, Orlando and Steven were all great. They all had a great demeanor, in good spirts and walked me through the whole process. I understand the mark up is due to sheer convenience but that wasn't a surprise to me when I received my bill. I was able to use a coupon that saved me a couple bucks. I went there for an oil change when I moved here 4 yrs ago. There was mine and another car in the bays. While waiting I heard a huge bang and the guy at the counter said "oh That's nothing". When my car came out I didnt think about it. They rushed me out and on my way. When I got home my hood edge was damaged. Now I know what the bang was. I called them and they said you should have looked it over before you left beside you have no proof. I have never gone back. I now go to Shell Travelers next to Walgreens and I haven't had an issue since. Bonus... they are a few dollars cheaper. read more

They have a good amount if staff working pretty effectively. I waited the most 10 mins and the full job was complete within time, about 25 mins. Staff were very nice and the work always seems consistent. The accepted a coupon for an oil change- and it left me with a cost of under 2 dollars. :) On a main road. Plenty of Parking. I'm not sure what happened to the workers there I used to get excellent service brought my Tacoma there every single time for an oil change. My wife goes there for the first time with her charger gets the worst service ever situation was an easy fix, but there was a lot of on Experienced and young acting employees which do not take their work seriously honestly will never bring a vehicle there again got an oil change. The oil filter spring comes out and ever since it's been a runaround. told us if we get the part they will replace it so I asked them explain me what part it is. No longer doing free fluid top offs, I went in recently due to my car being a quart of oil low in between oil changes.. I was charged $10 for the fluid.. and informed they no longer provide it. Wasn't mentioned to me when I asked for a top off.. pretty disappointing read more

During the week the crew is responsive, quick, and explain everything in detail. Saturday crew.... Not the same. I've been currently waiting for over 2 hours. Finally in the garage and haven't been checked in. Guy comes over to check me in and when I tell him I need my radiator flushed. He says "tell the guy who sells the oil because I'm new" ooooookay. Finally after 20 minutes I feel someone fiddling underneath my car. Guy comes over "here for an oil change?" For the 4th time, I say no. I need my radiator flushed. They have literally started the oil Change I did not want nor need. I am fuming. Still waiting to leave. read more

On Monday I stopped at this location for an oil change. I have visited here several times. While I was waiting for the tech to finish the change on my car, a young girl in a car pulled in behind me. Well, that was the end of my job, like bees to honey, the young men immediately congregated around her car, flirting ,and laughing. There was another customer waiting for service, and we were basically left in the leach. This was complete BS, where do they hire these people???? Friendly and well staffed. Performed their safety checks and found my 4 wheel drive front and rear transfer case lubricant needed to be changed and offered a 20% discount. I was able to do just the front and after that repair and oil change, ended up with 25% discount on total bill. Gripes? Technician reported transmission drain plug was leaking but they were not authorized to tighten it. What? They also said they couldn't check the transmission fluid because they didn't have a dipstick and the dipstick tube was sealed. What? It has a removable rubber plug. I told him that the oil dipstick is used for the transmission check, so he told me he couldn't do it because it was sealed. I will continue using their service for oil changes and appreciate their safety checklist so i can follow up on repairs needed. Minor gripe; they were out of window washer fluid. They are basically a quick oil change company and that they did well. read more

I have been to this valvoline twice for an oil change and after waiting about 30mins to an hour each time, I was sent away both times saying I had "heavy oil leaks" and both times when I brought my car into a shop they said my oil was not leaking at all, or an insignificant amount of oil was leaky. Two different employees have lied to my face on two different occasions so for this reason I have to rate them a 1/5. Also they were going to charge me $90 for an oil change, which is outrageously overpriced. read more

Bought a Groupon for a full synthetic oil change for my truck ( I also knew I would have to pay for the extra oil it would need). Ive been to a Valvoline before so they had my info. They came right out and directed me to the bay. I think it was Brandon who helped me. Was nice and direct but would also converse. Showed me the dip stick that it was full a the end. I paid and was on my way. IDK maybe 20 min or so. It was fast and good they didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need (I really hate that). I know I can come back anytime for any service I need like diff fluid change which I might do because my truck is under warranty and I wanna keep it that way (sometimes warranties wont fix things if you don't have a licensed facility do the recommended fluid changes.) read more

This place is trash,I went there yesterday because my car was severely leaking oil.A frustrated man,told me that my transmission was shot because there was transmission fluid covering the bottom of my 2014 jeep grand cherokee.Ive never had any problems with my transmission before.so I bring it to my mechanic today an he asked me who's regularly does the oil change ? I told him this valvoline.He told me my transmission was fine an it was oil all over the bottom of my car because they didn't put he drain plug back on right. I could have blown my motor,my oil level was so low.I will not be back an do not recommend at all ! They have no clue what they are doing there! This is the closest and most convenient oil change business near us. We moved nearby 5 years ago and every time we come here it's a circus. If not for the convenience of how close this place is, I would not go here. They can fit 4 cars in their bay at a time, but routinely close one door and keep half the place empty, especially within an hour of closing. Right now they close in 45 minutes and there are 2 cars behind me, and there's one car inside. People are always running around, and a guy just ran up from the pit to greet us and he was sweating buckets, then ran back down to finish what he was doing. Faces are always different, and sometimes they make you feel pressured when up-selling you on services. All of these places are similar, if I had time I would schedule my oil changes with my mechanic, but sadly, convenience wins when changes become due. UPDATE: So, Corporate Valvoline just sent a disingenuous apology which was obviously a canned response since it didn't reference ANY of my post specifics, like the fact that I was commenting on numerous experiences over time.....way to blow it Valvoline, happy to know I was worthy of your "attention"! I really like Valvoline for a few reasons. The biggest is that you remain in the car and it is quick. The staff is always very nice and helpful. Sometimes they offer additional services that I cannot afford but they aren't pushy about it. They will list what I need with prices and estimated length of time it takes for future visits. Bonus if you get your tires rotated. You still remain in the car so it can be fun. read more

SKETCHY AF! Bought a Groupon for a full synth. oil change ($48.50). Waited a full hour before I could even pull into the garage. When I finally get in, they just happen to not be able to log into the Groupon merchant site. I hear another guy say "It hasn't been working all day." They were very quick to offer to charge me the full $97, though. I left, called the Valvoline in Seekonk, and they said there's no problem with their system, and this also isn't the fist time they've heard customers complain about the Johnston store for things like this. It's convenient as well as exhausting to get your oil changed at this location. They do their job well - but the constant upcharging leaves you mindless. It's almost as if they search for things to replace on your vehicle. Ok - I understand that this is part of their service - but it is exhausting. I appreciate their insight of which I change the part myself. I appreciate the fact that you don't have to make an appointment or even wait. I love the convenience but Their oil is expensive - and it's like sitting through a high pressure sales presentation (i.e. Timeshare demonstration in Orlando Florida). I go with my coupons and am strong enough to say no to everything except the oil change. FYI the other Valvoline locations are receiving a decent amount of stars. If I could give this place no stars I would. I drove in and they immediately began to service my car... Then I heard 'oops, a dropped the part in her car' Five others came and left before I was finished. Not one person paused to tell me what the issue was, only 1 hour and 10 mins in, once I asked did they tell me that they couldn't retrieve a part for my car, so they were heading to the store to purchase a new one. Went for an oil change the other day with my friend. Later on in the day my check engine light came on so I had my brother check it out and he said I barely had any oil in there, so we went to orileys to get more oil and a thickening agent and the next day the light went away and my car was running normally. Don't get ripped off by these places and be aware of what they are putting/ taking out of your car!! Expecially if your a girl these guys will take advantage of you without you even knowing it, they think you don't know shit! Or try to fix or sell you stuff that you don't need. Everything would have been fine and professional during my first visit here, however, due to the behavior of two of the techs, I will not be back. I noticed a woman walking by and while my car was being worked on, Joe and Shane decided to cat call this said woman as she walked on by. I'm talking full on hollering and whistling at her. It was completely unprofessional and inappropriate and will be telling all of my friends. It may seem like a mild offense to some but it is 2018 and we know better than that now. read more

I had bought a brand new 2007 Chevy Silverado from the time it was new to the time it had 90,000 miles on it I've always went to Valvoline I started hearing noises in my front end so I actually got under my own truck and looked and nothing was greased so basically I went to Valvoline for one more oil changeWhen I left I looked to see if they greased anything and they did not there is actually 11 grease fittings on my Chevy Silverado that they did not grease for 90,000 miles I had to replace a lot of parts for their negligence you don't know if they're doing their job or not because obviously you don't see them I wouldn't go there read more

My one star rating is solely based on customer service. I usually don't come here but it's right near my house and I came across it driving and saw the word "instant." Who doesn't love that?! Unfortunately- I will never go back again, to any location. As I was pulling in and watching the service technician guide me, I would say 5-7 seconds into him guiding me in, he threw up his hands and said "I give up, I'm not doing this." Meanwhile, the woman next to him is saying, "watch him!" I was watching him the entire time as he was visibly moving his hands to come straight in his direction. The woman screamed at me. Now, IF I was not driving in the correct way, good customer service would be to assist in a respectful kindly manner. Not a screaming match!! i honestly wish i could give this place 0 stars. I went here in a pinch to get an oil change, My car is 3 years old and i have never had a single problem with it...8 days later my engine blew. The mechanic i brought it to said it was 100% because the oil change wasn't done properly, $7,000 worth of damage later, Valvoline refuses to take responsibility for their TERRIBLE work. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT RISK IT. Take your cars to MECHANICS, not LUBE TECHS. These people don't deserve your business, your time and they CERTAINLY don't deserve your money. Horrible service. And this comes from someone who was impressed with my first visit a couple months back. I went for a full service oil change, they did the actual oil change but checked none of the other fluids, to boot I watched the guy check off he did plus put a tire pressure my vehicle doesn't even take cause he didn't bother to check them. Also gave a coupon they claimed they put in even though the end price reflected the same as usual. I will never return here. Jiffy lube just got their business after today's visit. read more

Want to experience a $60 oil change that the mechanics begin pouring the oil into your car before "being sure" of the price? Go here! Want to be told that you need a new air filter and that they can put one in for $40 - when I mentioned I could pick one up (this was admittedly for my girlfriend's car) for about $10-20 the mechanic kept insisting telling me I wouldn't pick it up anywhere near that cheap elsewhere... autozone lists the fram replacement air filter for $14.99. I'd stay the hell away from these people and stick with either Midas or doing your own oil changes (it's easy enough) read more

I loved this place. 9 minutes in and out. The techs were extremely polite. They all worked together. I had choices on the oil change package I wanted and they took my coupons for it. Extremely professional. Filled my tires and took time to reset my oil change light without me asking.
