Screwed again. Today I was a sign being waved on the street "no waiting". Well I did wait 1/2 hour, only to have another car in a different bay that pulled in after me, go ahead of me. Last time, after waiting forever, a another woman claimed she was there before me (she wasn't) so they made me move back and put her in front of me. Maybe you should give out numbers since you can't keep track. I like Valvoline but I will go out of my way to try a different branch. That's what I did last time. I went to the valvoline in Okemos near the meridian mall for an oil change the day I found out my low beams were out last weekend. He asks if I have anyone to work on my low beams. I say yes, Muffler man but they aren't sure they'll be able to do it same day. He says he knows someone at an old job that loves working on 09 Malibu lights and she can do it but it will be 150 before tax instead of the 140 I was quoted. He calls her up and supposedly speaks on the phone with her and he tells me that she will be ready for me to come in Wednesday at 5. I get there as it's starting to get dark and realize this is another valvoline. I don't have to wait too long to get in, but It's pitch black outside by the. And they open up my hood to tell me the bumper is cracked and they don't want the liability of working on the vehicle even though they spoke before hand and I have no way of getting home without driving with my high beams on. So thank you South Cedar Valvoline for having me go to see you guys the one day of the week I'm able to drive in during daylight hours only to be turned away at the last minute with no safe options for driving home when I could've just gone to Muffler Man instead and at least drop the car off and Uber home if I needed to. I just went there yesterday and paid $67 for an oil change. I was happy until I went to hit the gym in the morning and my car said it had no oil pressure. I got my car towed and looked at. They screwed the filter tight and must have forgotten to line up the seal because oil was pouring out of my car. Also the cross-screwed my filter. Which means I am going to have to get pay more to get the whole thing replaced. I am currently working on making a claim against them. I will let you all know how they handle themselves during this time UPDATE: valvoline is taking care of the engine replacement with a used engine that is said to have equivalent miles on it. read more

I went here for an oil change, and they caused quite a bit of damage to my car. A part was taken out of my oil filter and never put back in. The next time I went to drive my car oil was leaking and the check engine light came on. It was a costly repair for me to deal with. I had an attorney contact them for reimbursement and received zero response back. They have not taken any responsibility despite having a letter from the dealership who repaired my car. I am very disappointed in their service and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Not happy. Sent my wife with a coupon for the service I wanted. Service writer pushed her into more expensive oil suggesting that what I wanted would not meet manufacturer specs. Replaced an air cleaner that had only about 10,000 miles of use. Not a place to send your wife or kids for service as they will pushed to spend more. read more

Got a oil change there and they didn't give me a full amount of oil on my oil change. It was only half filled. Plus had missing bolts that they didn't put back on my car and my air intake wasn't put back together when they finished. Always look at your level of oil before driving off to make sure your oil level is full. read more

He looked at me like I had a third eye. His name was Matt. Also had me sit there 20 minutes after service while he ran over to other bays... Even though I was there first. I have gone to Grand Ledge Valvoline for oil changes for a few years and thought it was a reputable business. Not anymore! The last time I went to Valvoline they up-sold me a new serpentine belt, in addition to my regular oil change and oil filter. Recently I needed some repair work done and went to a recommended auto repair shop where they pointed out my serpentine belt was in very bad shape. Turns out the belt was the OEM belt that came on my vehicle. They showed it to me on the vehicle, which I then had replaced immediately. It's pretty low-down to lie and cheat people out of their money but even worse -- I could have ended up broken down on the road because of this shady behavior. read more

Today I went in for a oil change and they were also able to change a couple headlights I had out without having to disassemble the whole vehicle - although Mark's arm may have a few scrapes! Chris, Mark, and Alexander were all professional and courteous, informed me of what was going on with my vehicle, and were respectful of my car maintenance choices. I would not go back here. What irritated me the most was not the fact that the guy was extremely pushy and an oil changed ended up costing me over 80 dollars, but rather how disrespectful he was to the trainee who was actually doing the work. He degraded her in front of me numerous times, which really turned me off from the place (I made a point of telling the trainee I thought she was doing a good job). As I mentioned earlier, the price of a simple oil change here is also ridiculously high, and they try to manipulate you into spending a lot of extra money (while acting like you are actually saving).
