I DO NOT recommend this business! I always drive about an hour to go to this place. This time they said I needed a transmission fluid change. First they didn't want to accept their OWN coupon since I was using one for the oil change they sent both coupons in 1 email but wouldn't accept 2 coupons at the same appointment! Finally the manager agreed. Well, they told me they were unable to get the transmission dipstick out so they couldn't do the transmission fluid change. They said 3 mechanics tried and couldn't get it out! Fast forward a couple days and I took my car to REAL mechanics. Valvoline "mechanics" broke the part! Now I have to pay for the part as well as the service to fix the Valvoline error! I'll never go to any Valvoline ever again! I'll tell as many customers as I can about this situation!!!! read more

Went in for a oil change today for my 2014 Prius which has 344,000 miles and service was very quick! They did recommend changing the vipers for my windshield which I did and also the air filters as they were very dirty. They also provide a sheet with other check ups that they recommend for your car. Definitely recommend trying this place for fast oil changes! read more

The team told me it was time to replace my batter. I just got a new battery in December of 2024, only 6 months ago. I had the battery tested somewhere else and was told it's at 100%. Your team was attempting to scam me because I'm a woman and likely wouldn't question it. This is disgusting behavior and I will tell everyone I know not to go to this establishment. read more

Do NOT get your oil changed here! They spilled oil on my engine and overfilled it. They didn't tell me at the time. When I drove the car the next day smoke poured out of the engine. I took it to my trusted mechanic who said the oil was overfilled and spilled, and I had to pay $90 to degrease and clean the engine. In talking with the owner EJ and manager Miguel, they acknowledged the video showed their tech spilled oil (again, not telling me at that time), but because I did not bring the car back to them first, they would not pay to have it cleaned. So if they make a mistake, they hide it, and if they don't get to fix it, they take no responsibility for it. Go down the road to Jiffy Lube...they are cheaper and stand behind their mistakes. Don't go to a place that won't remedy theirs, even when they admit their tech made a mistake. read more

This business takes advantage of people with limited car knowledge. My wife took her car in that only needs an oil change every 10000 miles. They placed a sticker that says 3000. They never mentioned the proper schedule. This is at least her 4th oil change. They legitimized fleecing a customer by blaming them for not knowing. The technicians are supposed to be the experts, yet they make no effort in trying to help the customer. Shame on the business that allows this to happen. Can't imagine how many thousands of customers you screw by having them perform 3 times as many $120 oil changes as needed. read more

I went for an oil change there. Oil change was fine, but they tested my battery and they told me mine was no good and needed replacing. He even showed me the test set. I went right down the street to an auto parts store and had them test it. It was fine. That was a few months ago. My battery is still fine. Someone with limited knowledge, would have bought an unnecessary battery. I won't go back. I'll bet any battery they use that test set on, will be "Bad". It felt like a scam. read more

I went to get an oil change on Sunday Mother's Day 5/11. Drove off, enjoyed my day only for my car not to start later that night. I got it towed to a shop, & was later informed whoever did my oil change didn't tighten something on my car which caused my oil to run out & not start. I instantly contacted the shop & someone told me to call back on today to speak with the shop manager. He told me it's possible there was a mistake made because they were short staffed on Sunday. Which is true. There was only two people working that day & the guy that was doing the labor was moving extremely fast. Nevertheless I did call to speak with Miguel who told me he had to speak with the RM. after several hrs of no call back I called again & was told he just had talked to the RM & took some info from me. Said he would call back. After another couple hrs of no call back I called again & was told they had three cars in & would call me whenever he gets a chance. I feel no sense of urgency for a mistake they made. However I'm grateful I did a little research, contacted customer service & was able to start my own claim seeing how they never did. I'm praying they're willing to fix this situation seeing how mistakes do happen but when they do, it's up to u to fix it. Nevertheless I do not recommend!!!! read more

I had previously given this shop 5 starts but I am editing my review and downgrading this Valvoline oil change on Ogden in Lisle from 5 stars to 1. Let me tell you why: I purchased a $200 battery for my Tuscon on October 2022 from them after the assistant manager Miguel said the battery needed replacement. Last week Wednesday the Tuscon completely died. No clicks, no lights, I mean nothing. In desperation I called the Hyundai Pugi dealership. They sent a courtesy towtruck. The driver couldn't start the Tuscon and it was towed to the dealership. The service department returned the Tuscon on Saturday, the diagnostic was a completely dead battery! And it would not hold charge. (Their repair invoice is attached) and they had to put in a new battery. It cost me an extra $300 to replace a three month old battery. When I went to Valvoline to explain what had happened. The young store manager (Ed Julian) not only raised his voice but acted beyond arrogance and told me I should have towed the Tuscon to Valvoline. How could I know it's the battery? And why would I have it tow the Tuscon to a lube shop? Needless to say this young managers argued with me in a very irritating and coarse manner and told me to get out! We wonder service is so pathetic and bad in our country. This is a great example of a young manager not knowing how to handle customers complaints and how to keep customers. Take away from this: I was taking two cars for oil change there on a regular basis, of course no more. And i will do my best to make sure they don't get any business from me, my friends, my neighbors, my colleagues and anyone I can reach out to in my area . This young manager did not even let me tell them that I did not want any moneys back from them, but at least a simple courtesy discount of some sort on my next oil changes. That would have settled this. Acting in true arrogance he and Valvoline lost a good customer. I've attached the bills for the most expensive battery replacement I have had in 50 years thanks to Valvoline. Caution and fair warning: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE OGDEN LISLE VALVOLINE SHOP. THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR WORDS AND DON'T WANT TO RETAIN THEIR BEST CUSTOMERS. Here is my previous recommendation: Excellent service. Very knowledgeable people. Caring and professional. Complete rip off plain and simple. Be careful with these people. I was charged $132 for a BASIC oil change, which yes I agreed too. However, they didn't do half the stuff they were supposed to as far as checking things as they claim they do. Called the customer service number and some dude from Lagrange claims he watched a video and saw them do what they were supposed to do. I asked "why didn't they reset my oil service light". He told me I had to take it to the dealer cus they don't do that. Really??! For a $132 I expect you to reset the oil service light. I looked it up on YouTube and did it myself. Went in for oil change. That's all i told them to do. Nothing else. They learned it was a "fleet" vehicle and starting doing all this other stuff without asking me so they can upsell and get themselves more money - but they attempted to do so without asking me first. I wasnt happy. I had to get back to work and these guys would have literally replaced the engine and repainted the car if the fleet management company approved it, and they would have done so without asking me first. I was sitting the vehicle the entire time watching this. The worker literally said to me "it's not really your concern what were doing - the fleet company approved it". I said "that's not how it works - it's not "free" my boss has to pay for it (which is true) and your supposed to ask me first - not just do it". So they stopped with the other added things they were doing because we were all pissed off and I just got the oil change. Not a good experience. read more

Stopped in here for a simple lightbulb change on my headlight. First guy didn't know how to do it, we need for a second guy to come over and do it. When the second guy walked over he started to pull things apart and get to the light bulb. When I told him he didn't need to do that he could just reach in and do it he shoo'ed me away to the waiting room. It was at that point that I said forget it and drove off. read more

My wife and I were going to Jiffy Lube for an oil change for our SUV. Jiffy Lube wasn't available due to understaffing. So we went to Valvoline on our way back. They took care of us right away, gave us options on what kind of oil to put in, even let us know about other issues with the vehicle, all without the hard sell tactics. The staff were professional without being corporate sounding, and very friendly and knowledgeable. They got us rolling in less than 20 minutes. I always went to this place for my cars oil change. My daughter came to visit and needed a oil change for her car. I just got a $15 off coupon in my mail so I took her car there for oil change. The service was excellent and efficient, I should give them a five star. The reason I gave 3 two star here was the price shooting up steeply so quickly. There used to be never exceeded $75. Now it was $109, minus the coupon discount, it was $94. I could get it done in the garage near my home for a much cheaper price. Don't know the inflation ate into everything so quickly and steeply. read more

Of four Valvoline stores visited across the United States in Maryland, Arizona, Montana and Illinois, this one is the worst compared to other three in terms of wait time and service attitude. They don't do things with a smile. The price is slightly higher. The wait was more than 30 minutes when there was only one car ahead of me and was already being served when I arrived. The one in 7475 W. Cactus Road, Peoria, Arizona, there were two waiting lines and two cars ahead of me. All it took was 20 minutes before my turn. The service from stores in Maryland, Montana, and Arizona were superb. This one in Lisle, they seemed to be capable of getting things done and done right, but they took longer time and did not seem to care customer service. Valvoline as a brand and national auto service company thrives to offer consistent service quality and pricing. However, this one in Lisle has more room to change for better. Meanwhile, I would suggest go to another Valvoline. read more

Anthony has the worst customer service ever. Michael did not check the lights. Anthony did not ask for check the tire pressure, he didn't go over services that where due. Michael didn't top off fluid, or test the battery. When asked to do so they lied and stated they had when I could see them not do it; and when asked for a print out of the battery status they said they don't do that & could not provide customers with print outs. To top it off they couldn't even confirm my address even though I had just moved. Poor communication & very rude attitude. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My wife took her car here to get an oil change. (2019 Chevrolet ) This place charged her 95.00. I called and was told the reason was she had to have synthetic oil because they only have 0-20 oil in synthetic. I can get full sythetic oil and full service at the dealer for 70.00. Since this place changed to Valvoline it is NOT the same. I will not after 6 years be going back. As you can see by the reviews I am not the 1st one that this has happened to.
