You go back the day after the original visit (did they forget to put it back?) and they have no intention of doing anything about it. "No, we don't have any spares." Super. Now the visit is much more expensive. Given the timing, with trip less than 2 days after the original visit, you can only hope the country roads don't do more damage before you can replace the missing skid plate.

Then he proceeded to tell me it would be $225 an hour (estimate up to 5 hours) to remove the stripped oil plug (that they stripped)! When I said no I'm not paying to fix something YOU broke. Then, the owner proceeded to tell me that my car was not safe to drive because when they stripped the plug it caused an oil leak! Then, he backtracked and said they didn't strip the plug! He said it must have happened the last time my oil was changed. They did my last oil change! I took my chances and left and drove over to another service station. The owner of KwikKar is dishonest. They claimed my brakes and rotors were fused and that I needed new rotors as well. After shopping around, I decided to take my car to Toyota to replace the original parts, including the rotors and brakes, for $479. I made an appointment at Toyota the next morning and took my car in. After an inspection by Toyota, I was told that I still had 5,000 miles left on the brakes and that nothing the previous shop told me was true. Please stay away from these people--they are very dishonest. If I hadn't double-checked, I would have paid for unnecessary work. I will never go there again!

Sure, still charged me $185 for diagnosis. Thought I was getting taken for a ride by my Carmax warranty because they were only willing to pay $66 towards the $160 charge for the part. Turns out that is exactly what the part retails for, checked AutoZone and genuine Chevy parts online. This place doubled down, they reserve the right to mark up the parts as they choose on some margin they weren't able to disclose to me, wouldn't tell me how much they paid for my part, just that they weren't gonna budge on what they charged me. Ladies, make sure you ask ALL the questions, don't let anyone think you don't know what you're talking about before you leave your car with a mechanic shop like this one.
