I have been a loyal Valvoline customer for years. I used another location until this Prosper store opened, and although the staff had been casual and unprofessional in the past, I continued coming because it was convenient. After my most recent experience, I will never return. I came in for a routine oil change, air conditioning service, and vehicle inspection. During my visit, I was advised that my vehicle also needed a radiator fluid replacement, which I agreed to. What I witnessed while my vehicle was being serviced was alarming. The technician working on my car couldn't get the radiator cap off. I heard him complain that it was his fifth radiator cap that day that had been difficult to remove, and I watched him strike it with a wrench to get it loose. At the same time, another employee was walking him through the air conditioning service from across the shop because it was his first time performing one. During the service, the technician cut his finger, and moments later liquid sprayed all over my windshield from the engine compartment. He simply said, "My bad, I'll clean that up," but never explained what had happened. To make matters worse, the inspection I originally came in for couldn't even be completed because no one was available to perform it. Two days later, my check engine light came on. I returned to the store, where an employee scanned my vehicle and found a P0128 code. Before anyone inspected my car, the store manager came over and immediately told me it was an internal thermostat issue and "couldn't be anything we did." Here's what didn't happen: The store manager never asked me what I observed during the service. The store manager never looked at my vehicle. The store manager never inspected the work that had been performed. The store manager never reviewed any security footage. The store manager never attempted to investigate before deciding Valvoline wasn't responsible. I filed a claim because I wanted an independent review. Instead, the store manager called me after I filed the claim, raised his voice, and repeatedly told me he had already said it wasn't anything Valvoline did. The claim was denied based on the store manager's opinion before an independent mechanic had even evaluated my vehicle. I then took my vehicle to Honda for an independent diagnosis. Honda's repair order states: "Possible thermostat failure could be due to recent coolant flush performed by other shop." The service advisor also explained that the recent coolant service may not have been properly completed, allowing air to remain in the cooling system. What disappoints me most is not just the mechanical issue--it's how I was treated. I wasn't asking anyone to admit fault without evidence. I simply expected my concerns to be taken seriously and investigated. Instead, I was dismissed before anyone even looked at my vehicle. Good customer service means listening to customers, conducting a fair investigation, and treating people with respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I cannot recommend this location. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this Valvoline to take their vehicle somewhere that values quality workmanship, proper training, and customer service. read more

10/15/24 Oil change at Valvoline End of November we noticed the engine light on and began to see oil spots in the driveway. 12/2/24 we had time to take it back to Valvoline to check if it was something they did or did not do. Terrell (Goat) the store manager and the Valvoline employees did a quick check inside the engine and under the carriage, and were quick to say it was not because of them, then turned the blame on a possible transmission leak due to the mess of oil the leak had made under the carriage. Since Valvoline dismissed any chance it was due to the oil change, we left and decided to take it to a mechanic. We then took the jeep to Meineke, under the impression that it was possibly a transmission leak, as the employees at Valvoline suggested. Come to find out, the manager at the Meineke, had recently fixed another car after an oil change at the same Valvoline location for customer in September (a Dodge). For this claim, the meineke manager had to physically take the oil filter housing to Valvoline to speak to Terrell. That claim went back and forth for a couple of weeks while the customer was lent a loaner car from Meineke. The dodge claim was finally covered by Valvoline after he had to take the time to drive to the Valvoline location and speak to Terrell in person. On previous calls, Terrell would not admit this incident. 12/12/24 approx 11:40 am, Terrell admitted on the call with the meineke manager, he did remember. The picture of the finger on the oil housing points out the crack that was found. The crack was seeping oil when the engine revved up - since pressure rises when the engine is revved, pushing the oil out and creating the mess it did under the carriage over the month it was driven. The crack could not be seen before its removal out of the housing. This would have happened when the Valvoline employee was screwing the oil house cap back on too tightly. Since the repair of the housing, the jeep is no longer leaking. 12/12/24 A message was sent from the claims department to have Terrell's manager to call us, but I do not believe this will help with any explanation. It would be better if Terrell's manager called Meineke. Requesting reimbursement for removal and replacement of complete engine oil filter housing assembly. Claim has since been denied by the Terrell and this Valvoline location. They will won't cover the repair approximately $1200. read more

Went here to get the oil changed in my company truck with the company card. Devin was the gentleman helping me and my company card was not wanting to work. He was very patient and did everything in his power to get the wex card to work. Unfortunately I had to use my personal. I would come back to this location because Devin was so honest and helpful. Oil filter was so loose I had to hand tighten it after oil leaked everywhere. Live two hours away so I tightened it and came straight here. They said they would have to charge me still to do an oil change because they did not see or fix the problem even though I have pictures with the date and time. Staff extremely inappropriate, making sexual remarks. Specifically "Le Goat" since he didn't have his real name on his shirt and the manager who ironically has the same name as me "Pam" heard them talking about how they would "f me" and the lady in the car next to me. It's mind blowing they would speak this way loud enough for people to hear. Also stated by le goat, he would give me a discount if I let me get my number and take me out. Made me extremely uncomfortable when I declined and he persistently kept asking. DO NOT TAKE your vehicle to this location. During a routine oil change, the staff damaged our vehicle by over torquing our oil filter resulting in a cracked oil filter housing and adapter that cost $1,400 to repair. After providing pictures and proof, the management team refuses to take responsibility and has declined the claim even though other customers have reported similar issues and filed claims over the past few months. We have receipts and evidence to support our claim and will be pursuing further action. Protect your vehicle and choose a more reliable service provider. read more

Went to the University/Hwy 380 location to get my oil changed on a 2020 Jeep Cherokee that we just purchased since we past the last oil change mileage. The gentleman who was checking our oil was so honest. told us that we didn't need the oil changed just yet and even offered to write up a new sticker as he felt we have a few extra thousand miles to go. Took my vehicle in for an oil change as I've done in the past. My vehicle ran perfectly before the oil change, however afterwards as I was on my way into work my engine started knocking aggressively. After calling Valvoline they sent their area manager out not to help and find a resolution. He was sent out to look for any non at fault factors to rid them of any responsibilities! He lied and said that he found no traces of oil leaking even though in the pics it shows oil at the base of the oil filter. Also they did not offer to pay for a tow truck to a dealership to have the vehicle diagnosed. He wanted to find a not at fault claim and run with it to save his job! Due to this my vehicle has been sitting at dodge unpaired and Valvoline doesn't care to help! They did in fact claim to pull an oil sample for testing and called me back a week or two later to say the oil was damaged in transport after I told him one of his techs poured foreign debris in my engine. Just know that if your vehicle is damaged the management or Valvoline care team will not help you and they did not resolve the issue! I never felt like i was being over sold, because he came from a standpoint of giving recommendations. NOW THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was going to get an air filter replacement but they didnt have it in stock, so he gave me $10 pff bc they said they would and forgot about the inventory. Devin & Maxwell worked on the vehicle extremely efficiently, and it was cool how they communicated confirming everything with each other is safe and correct (they even checked for any leaks too!) Yesterday,I had a very poor customer service experience at this location for the first time. I visited for indirection, and upon pulling in, no one greeted me or asked me how they could assist. I was the only customer in the driveway, which made it very awkward. All three employees looked at me and put their heads down as they continued to work on their vehicles. A few minutes later, they closed all three bay doors and never came out to explain why. I was so shocked that I called their office. A kind lady greeted me. I told her the situation, and suddenly, someone finally came out to acknowledge me. I immediately asked for a manager and spoke with Lorenzo. I was prepared to leave so I could try another location. However, he offered to pay for my inspection since I had a poor customer experience. An employee named Jordan inspected my vehicle and had an attitude the entire time. He never apologized for ignoring me when I pulled in for service. Not to my surprise, he FAILED my inspection, claiming my threads were too low and I needed to purchase brand new tires on a relatively new vehicle with only 14K miles (NO WAY). I thanked him for his time and went to another inspector only to PASS. There was no mention of anything wrong with my vehicle. Hopefully the employees will receive coaching to ensure all customers are greeted in a timely manner and serviced with respect. read more

I've been a customer with our vehicles for 2+ years and always left satisfied and had a good experience until today. Bare in mind, this has nothing to do with the trainee who was trying and struggling while changing my oil and doing routine checks as advertised, to which he should have been better supervised...it was with minimal effort on his trainers part. He struggled with the air cleaner cover, dropped a screwdriver down into the engine compartment and through to the lower bay. No big deal, mistakes happen but he got distracted and forgot his initial task...air filter The air cleaner cover was never removed and one of four screws was still laying on the radiator because he was distracted and didn't have adequate supervision. His 'trainer' came and tightened the other three after he replaced the one laying on the radiator. I didn't bother to question the lack of inspection. When the (shift manager?) told me I was ready to go I told them I never started the truck to check for any issues of leaks and to recheck the oil level after it had run. The guy from the pit came up and said it had run right after I said it had not run yet and he repeated it to his supervisor that it had run. I got louder and told him I've been here for the past 45 minutes IN THE DRIVERS SEAT and that the engine HAD NOT been run since pulling in. Apparently through all the ruckus they looked at the video(?) and saw that my truck had NOT RUN and apologized for the mistake, ran the truck and completed the checks. The employee with the attitude and mis information to his manager was/is not appreciated. I'm going elsewhere based on his direct and incorrect statement to his manager...I considered him calling me a liar when he misstated and reiterated his 'thinking' the job was done when it was not. read more

Not a good VIOC-- I've come here multiple times and there always seems to be something off with this location. Recent visit- was told their inspection machine was not operable, I mentioned that I've been here twice before and it wasn't working then-- roughly 4-5 months ago. Clerk admitted that their inspection machine hasn't been working for months and they are waiting on the state to fix it. It really seems odd that they couldn't get it fixed over that amount of time. I also recently brought my VW bugs here for service, young man that was helping me was very aloof and seemed like he didn't want to be there. I had to give him mileage multiple times, when he gave me the sticker, it was still wrong. I asked him to correct the mileage, so he just crossed out the mileage and wrote over it-- super lazy. The result has been the CARFAX mileage is always wrong because they share what they input with CARFAX. read more

As I parked my truck a want to be tough guy asked me why I got so close to the truck that I almost hit one of his techs working under the truck. This was my first and LAST visit to Valvoline. The guy kept trying to up sell me and it was VERY annoying. He put air in my tires and not even a 1/2 mile down the road the passenger rear tire popped. I called and spoke with the "manager" Lorenzo and he was very dismissive. He said when a customer comes in, they provide the amount of air the manufacturer recommends. That may be the standard, but I don't believe that policy was followed today. I was VERY upset this happened and I will NEVER in my life VISIT another Valvoline location. I've purchased my car new in 2014 and I've never had someone to pop my tire. Thankfully I was near Jiffy Lube and the guy patched the tire just so I can drive to Discount Tire and get a new one since the tire still had a slow leak. What an awful experience read more
