They were able to get the vehicle repaired and now it starts and runs well! Overall I think what they charged for labor is fair for the market, and the quality of work seems adequate. The staff is friendly as well, so the only draw back is really that the entrance and waiting area feels a bit dirty and run down. If you need your car serviced in the area this is definitely a decent place to take it!

Fast forward to the other evening, and a phone call with a dear friend results in learning that a family friend who had helped raise him, the mother to one of his closest friends from childhood to this day, was on her death bed across state lines. His car was in the shop from a hit and run. Suddenly, the minor repair I'd ignored for months became top priority, because I didn't want him needing to return to the Twin Cities immediately if he carpooled or spend a ton on a rental and still have to measure his stay to minimize the rental expenditure. I had an unexpectedly busy day yesterday, so once I was free today, I picked one of the best-rated Plymouth repair shops and grabbed my phone, expecting it to be the first of many calls, given recent experiences with fielding this exact repair for my car. Nope. John was not only truly warm, he was very considerate and informative in his questions before inviting me to bring my car in for a quick repair today, despite it being already 3:30 pm at that point, with the shop closing in an hour and a half. I got to the shop at 4 pm. Less than half an hour later, I was leaving with my car no longer clanking from a loose part. I think I've found a solid new (and far more local - my go-to shop up until now required a half hour drive, but I love my car so I didn't mind) doctor's office for my car.

By the time I arrived, paid for, and got my car back, I believe it had been no more than 20 minutes. It was the experience I was exactly looking for! The lobby was pretty small, with only a handful of chairs for customers to sit at. They do offer coffee, water, and I believe tea products for folks who want/need it while they were waiting. I would just keep in mind that the price for the oil change will likely be an extra $5 than advertised because of the oil filter change. Other pros: they offer free topping off of oil and other engine fluids between oil changes at Jiffy Lube, they are quick, friendly employees, and go through all of the inspections of the oil change with you at your car. They also vacuum out the interior of your car and wash your windows. I got more than I anticipated going here! Highly recommend.

I ended up taking it to the dealer, and the dealer said that the brakes were metal on metal at this point. I contacted parents and they admitted to me they didn't check the back brakes. I ended up having to get my rotors replaced as well. I don't know if the fact that they drove my car with bad brakes extensively damaged the rotors. my car only has 65,000 miles on it. I just don't think there was any excuse for them not figuring out it was the brakes within one day. Definitely shouldn't take three days and many many miles of driving it to try to "listen for the noise" themselves even though I played audios of what it sounded like for them..

When I asked for the name of his manager or someone I could escalate the issue to, he refused to provide it and acted like there was no one above him. I ended up having to call the main customer service line myself to try to get this resolved. I did not create this issue. The tire was covered under warranty, I brought it in for repair, and shortly after the service the tire was completely flat. A reasonable response would have been an apology, arranging a tow, and correcting the problem. Instead, I was met with resistance and poor customer service. Really frustrating experience, and not what you want when dealing with something that directly affects vehicle safety.
