I came to this quick oil change where they could just change my oil for me. We were preparing to go on a long trip. Mind you- it's 100* outside. They had me sit in my car with it turned off but asked every other person there to go wait in the waiting area. This really frustrated me. When the guy saw me waving myself with a piece of paper he offered to blow a fan at me and I asked why I had to sit there but every other customer was sent in side. He just stared at me. The 2 stars is because everyone here is very friendly. However they will be friendly while they absolutely gaslight you. I went in yesterday for a very specific coolant (Zerex Original Green 50/50) and the technician assured me he could get that specific one for me. He comes back with a yellow coolant, and I leave because I don't realize that coolant comes in different colors, and I also trusted that he knew what he was talking about. Thankfully, before I used it in a very expensive machine that the manufacturer requires that very specific coolant for, I realized that the coolant did not match the one that I needed. So I go back and talk to the same the same technician, and he looks at me, looks again at the picture of the EXACT coolant I am SPECIFICALLY telling him I need, and tells me that the coolant he gave me is that exact one, and it's yellow because it's prediluted?? Thats crazy, because I ordered it online afterwards, and as seen in the picture included in this review, despite the coolant being prediluted (as it should be and is labeled as), it still manages to be a very vibrant green. The audacity of this guy to look at yellow and try to convince me it's green. And he could have caused potentially thousands of dollars of damage to critical machinery if I had listened to him. read more

It felt less like a safety concern and more like an excuse to upsell me new wipers. The manager seemed far more interested in arguing than listening or using common sense. Solid place to get an oil change, but I'd avoid if needing a state inspection. Unless there's absolutely nobody else in line, it's gonna take a while since they only have one inspector. You'll spend ten times the amount of time on an inspection that you will on a full oil change and rotation service. I had a tire rotation done at this Valvoline in October 2024, and it resulted in significant damage. When I returned recently for another rotation, the same shop could not remove the lug nuts they had installed. Acura inspected the vehicle and confirmed stripped studs, two broken studs, and hub damage caused by improper torquing during the initial service. The repair cost was $1,585.11. I would strongly advise avoiding tire rotation services at this location. Valvoline denied responsibility, despite detailed documentation and a technician's explanation from Acura. I got an old change last week and they didn't tighten the oil drain plug and practically all the oil leaked out while I was on my way to a destination up north. I had to stop to eat and came back out and found a whole bunch of oil on the parking lot! In fact the oil light was on! So I rushed over to the nearest oil change place which was a jiffy lube and they confirmed that the oil drain plug was missing! There was oil all all over the back of my car too! Absolute professionals!!!! I found a new inspection spot in Wake Forest!!!! Everyone was so nice and the inspection I needed was super fast.

Like others in the reviews have mentioned, the oil drain plug wasn't tightened. Sister-in-law had it changed on Thursday, stayed with me and my wife over the weekend parked in the driveway, and when she left for work on Sunday morning there was a puddle that has left a stain. I went and got her car, crawled under and inspected, confirmed my suspicion of the drain plug, and took a picture. I took the car back and showed them the problem. They tightened it, so problem fixed but that doesn't help the damage to my driveway. I spent hours on Sunday trying to get the stain out. Went and bought cat litter, tried saw dust, dish soap, and pressure washing with degreaser, nothing has gotten rid of the stain. So now I have a nice permanent reminder of where to not do any future business. read more

I will start out saying that I have very limited knowledge of cars so I rely on the experts to take care of me. I also expect that when I pay for a service I get everything I am paying for. I came for a oil change and paid 80.43 as normal. They didn't reset my oil light and no sticker was given . This would let me know what mileage I should Look out for to bring it back in for. When I asked politely for these things the response was "oh we are out of ink and you just press it." They are quick with the work which is good but this this not the first time I came and they skipped over showing me my oil levels and resetting it. I'm left to think what other things are they marking off that they did but didn't. I won't be coming back. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. They told me I could get a state inspection immediately. After being trapped so I cannot leave and having to wait in my car for 45 mins they asked me to exit the car to start the inspection, another 45 minutes go by. The manager as well as all of the employees are wandering around with no purpose and there is only one person working on any of the 4 cars they pulled into the bays. The man "inspecting" my car left 5 times to work on other vehicles while 4 other employees are standing around smoking vapes, texting and chatting. read more

I am a long-time patron of this location and have been happy for years bringing my cars here. Not sure what's going on lately, but it seems like it takes 3 times as long to get stuff done. I don't know if they are training or what, but it seems like they have 3-4 people standing around now. Never saw that before. I also don't recognize anyone there. I've been coming to this business for more than 2 years. The service has always been good, but not this week. Went by Monday to get a state inspection, and after 10 minutes with no one around, someone finally appeared and I was told me inspector was out to come back Monday. I went by this morning about 8:30, and was told to come back after 10:00 because they had to turn on the computer. So the computer takes 2 hours to boot up (really) and they have been open for 1.5 hours, but haven't turned it on yet? Finally, I go back at 11:30, and the inspector is at lunch for an hour. I told the service rep that I was upset because I'd already been there several times. He told me there were several other places I could go. Nobody seems to care at this business anymore. I'm taking my business elsewhere and you should too. I'll never be back. read more

I do not recommend this place! Long story, but short version is they disconnected the vacuum hose when checking/replacing the air filter which caused all kinds of issues and ended me at the mechanic to find out that was the cause. It isn't the first time they caused an issue due to checking the air filter. Longer version... Took my RAV4 in for an oil change and gave them some ceramic wear protection additive to add to the oil. They were training someone new, but it looked like they were walking him through the steps for the work they do checking fluids and the air filter. They opened up my air filter compartment and I provided them with a new air filter (which I knew was the right part, because I've changed it myself) and they replaced the old one. When it came to the oil additive, they told me right up front that they weren't responsible for any damage caused by the additive. I fully understood that. I had used it with a different vehicle due to high mileage and wasn't worried about the additive. Things progressed and they poured the additive in before the oil. That worried me, because I though that it was supposed to be added after. The oil change finished, I left and went back to work. On my way back it was running rough, but I thought maybe the additive and oil were mixing and once mixed it would correct itself. It was only a short drive back to work, so I didn't notice a major issue until I started my trip home. The vehicle was hesitant to start, but did start on the first try. I pulled out of the parking lot onto the road and even though I was giving it gas it wasn't speeding up. Then the check engine light came on a few minutes later. I started blaming myself thinking it was the additive and that I needed to get it out. So I went back here and had them give me another oil change. I figured replacing the oil and filter should clean the stuff out. I started back home and I was still having issues. My SUV was still running but roughly. I looked up reviews for the additive and someone said that it had messed with their spark plugs. I looked up spark plug issues and they matched with how the vehicle was performing. I again blamed myself and all of the wasted money from the extra oil change, the cost of the additive and now a mechanic to replace what I thought was gummed up spark plugs. I had to wait for my next paycheck, so it took me two weeks of rough driving 2 hours a day before I could get it looked at. The mechanic checked the error code and it was a code from the oxygen sensor which lead him to find that a vacuum hose had come loose. I asked how that could happen, because I really don't know much about cars and he said it is connected to the air filter compartment and that it can come loose when you replace the air filter. He reconnected it and said it was running fine after. So long story, but all of my wasted money and blaming myself was all because they didn't check the hose after they closed up the air filter compartment. Oh and this isn't the first time. The last time I hadn't gotten out of the bay because the engine died right after I started it. They had me pop the hood that time it was the filter housing that hadn't been closed properly. They may be good at oil changes, but don't let them touch your air filters! read more

I have usually had a good experience here but today it was terrible. In past visits I experienced the turnaround with cars to be 15-20 mins for an oil change so even if a car or two deep it was ok. Today it was a disaster. I watched workers just meander back and forth in the shop and keep talking about the long lines forming outside. Extremely frustrating especially when you're trapped in line by people behind you. Luckily after almost an hour in line the people behind me l backed out of line and I was able to leave. My girlfriend usually takes her car to the dealership for a free oil change, but because she was going out of town, so needed a quick oil change with not a long wait. So she took her car to Valvoline. When she brought the car home, the notes in her receipt stated she had an "oil leak." Valvoline never informed her of the leak before the oil change or after just putting it in the notes on the receipt. So I called to get more information my thoughts maybe it was a head gasket leak, but when I called, it was an oil pan gasket leak. Why would you change someone's oil if you see an oil leak at the oil pan and not let them know before changing their oil!? I had to dump all the new oil to fix the issue and add fresh oil, and this could've all been alleviate by simply letting us know before changing the oil. I got a call from the manager the next day informing me everything was done within their policy by notifying us via their notes after the oil change. I wouldn't recommend Valvoline because I believe in being far and not getting over to make a dollar. I don't care for a refund. I'll take this as a lesson learned even tho it wasn't right, but I would like to let other people know because this may happen to them. read more

However, the fact that when I pull up with window tint that you are going to fail me for and you still go through the process to charge me a $34 fee you see which is six dollars less than the actual inspection you will never get my business for anything ever again. I got an oil change and my car inspected yesterday. Today I noticed some oil leaking. I called the store and they had me come in to check out the leak. They did a new oil change, swapped out the plug and are cleaning the 2 driveways I leaked oil in. This is what a good business does. They recognize their mistakes, own up to it and make it right. I appreciate that in a business and will continue to get my oil changed there. The employees are all very nice and go out of their way to make their customers happy. Where do I begin? I have been coming here for 3 years and it gets worse every time. This last time (yesterday) I needed to replace 2 parking bulbs and get an oil change. They told me that I had parking reflectors and didn't need bulbs, but the NC inspection said I needed Them. I left without the lights replaced and upon pulling out my skid plate fell off on Main Street! I had to stop traffic get out and pick up my skid plate. Upon returning to the shop they said let me check your order invoice to see who did your oil change and the attendant said of course it was "him" we have had problems with this one employee. Another 45 min at the shop I decided to look at my owners Manual and saw that I do indeed have bulb that needed to be replaced. The manager Told me he would go next door to the auto store to purchase the lights and then lied to me and said they didn't have them. I went to the store (right next door) and they did in fact have them. I come back a few days later, I pull up waiting in long traffic for them to tell me the car in front of me is the last inspection they're doing right now and that I should again go elsewhere. Got there and a car was in each of the 4 bays. I was directed to bay 1 where I was waiting to go thru next. Meanwhile bays 3 and 4 emptied. Those bays remained empty even though there were 2 cars waiting at bay 2 and one car behind me. Then bay 2 opened up. Guys directed car that came after me into bay 2. Bays 3 and 4 remained empty. Still waiting, the car in bay 2 left and the next car was directed into bay 2. Bays 3 and 4 still remained empty until two more customers came in and went directly into bays 3 and 4. First, I am thrilled that my oil change took less than 10 minutes, so that is the reason I would give this more stars, however, I was appalled when I declined a cabin filter and the tech asked if he should call my husband. WHAT?! So, obv, this made me want to reduce it to one star, but I cannot ignore the convenience of such a place. I will say, that I dreaded getting this done all day. It is my husband's car and with him being out of town, I knew it needed to get done and so I thought, with little time, this was the best option. Plus, I read reviews before going in to see if any women were made to feel like that were upselling them, as this happens at so many autocare establishments. I did not see any, so I felt like I should be fine, in that arena. The staff were very nice, I could tell that the one tech who mentioned contacting my husband was a little annoyed that he didn't get the upsell of the cabin filter, but the remainder of the staff were very accommodating. Would I return? Maybe, if in a pinch, but it wouldn't be my first choice. read more

I chose this place because of the convince and also the fact that they are never busy. I needed to get my yearly inspection. When i arrive on 9/17/19 there was already another car in the port where the inspections were getting done. So a man directed me to park behind port 4. I was parked there with my window down waiting for someone to direct me where to go. As i was waiting a man that works there but that was not currently clocked in wearing an olive shirt came in and proceeded to talk to his other coworkers a "bitch" and said that he has a better job than they do. A man saw that i heard what he said and proceeded to say "hey we have a customer in here" and that was all that was said about it. Eventually someone came over and showed me where to go. Once everything was finished the man that did my inspection came and got me out of the waiting area, then he proceeded to ask me "you seem like a serious woman? Are you?" Which is completely inappropriate nor any of his business. I proceeded to tell him that as a woman i don't appreciate someone coming in here calling other people "bitches" . The man that did my inspection responded with " ohhh.. well it wasn't me that said it" .................. i said i know it is not you who said it , it is still disrespectful... he said "sorry about that" and rang me up and i left. As a woman this is THE MOST SEXIST place i have been too. They were completely in appropriate and not aware apparently that it was a place of business and they needed to fix the situation and did not. It already feels uncomfortable being the one woman around 15 guys & them dealing with my car.. it's just Unbelievable . The customer service is horrible and i now know why the place is always empty. I hope the manager reads this and does some type of training, because this was not acceptable. They lost a customer before they ever gained one. Took my truck in before my trip to Florida so I could be confident of its readiness. 700 miles later I notice a puddle on mom's drive. They cross-threaded my plug and my engine nearly drained. The FL Valvoline I took it to ate the cost to tap my pan, replace the plug, and refill the oil. So, if you need service in Bellview, FL I can recommend them, but not in Wake Forest. read more

Horrible experience. We normally have the dealership do all our work on our car. We thought "Valvoline" was a safe bet on a simple oil change. Technicians changed the oil on our car that has 18,000 miles on it. Got home and oil was leaking all over our recently poured concrete driveway. After 3 trips back, they somehow figured out what was they did wrong. Managers excuse was "these kids don't what they are doing". Since then there has been several managers hired and fired at the Wake Forest location. Valvoline territory manager refuses to contact me about the damage to our driveway. I totally understand that mistakes can happen. I have been patient and professional about the situation. You would think a company like Valvoline and their managers would be far more professional about how they handle their mistakes. I went for car inspection and after 30 minutes of up selling me I was told I was "good to go." They failed my car based on dealership installed window tint. That's okay, I can deal with that. I can't deal with the coward or misleading employee that didn't inform I failed at any point of visit.
