Yummy once again! It was pretty bsy, they were cleaning tables and working around everyone. Super friendly staff and clean place!

This was such a tasty dessert. I got the strawberry cheesecake. The texture of the shaved ice was so soft and creamy. And the toppings included a generous amount of strawberry slices and cheesecake bites that paired really well. The syrup was slightly too sweet but could be balanced out by the shaved ice. The price is also very reasonable (around 10 bucks) for something that can be shared by two, and service was efficient. Seating indoors is limited but you can sit outside.

Went on a Thursday evening for birthday! Earlier in the week I received a $15 coupon from being signed up for their rewards. This bought me a WHOLE flight. Yup you read that right; three plates of full sized shaved snow. We got cotton candy snow with gummy worms and strawberry syrup, vanilla snow with chlorate syrup and sprinkles, and then their Fitz snow (can't quite remember what it is called). Had a lovely time sitting outside and chatting with one of the owners. Hand's down one of my favorite sweet treat places in STL.

So happy we stopped here! The person working here was so nice to us and helpful with my son's allergies, plus the place is cheerfully decorated with tables inside and outside to sit at and enjoy your treats. The desserts are perfect, not too heavy or sweet - I got the Strawberry Cheesecake and it was delicious, with fresh strawberries and whipped cream plus cheesecakes bits. My kid loved his fruity pebble topped confection and my husband devoured his Strawberry Shortcake.

Where is the sixth star? This place is amazing! It is shaved ice that comes out exploding with flavor, it is light and fluffy and feels like a melt in your mouth taste of heaven on earth. I got the Fitz's Cardinal Cream, my daughter had the Vampuccino, and my son went with the Cloud Candy. They were all amazing (mine was the very best though) :) The people working here were equally amazing. Fun must visit place!

My son really likes their ice because you can pick whatever you want and they have a lot of options. We aren't big on ice cream because it's too heavy but shaved snow ice is light and fluffy. Location is great, you'll just need to find parking. It's a cute meme spot with a couple chairs inside. They typically have chairs outside during warmer months too. As we walked in, 2 of the staff was sitting using their computer which was fine however I did not hear them greet us. It felt as if we were disturbing them for a moment. However, as we left, they were pleasant and thanked us for stopping in. We ordered our food to go but the boys couldn't wait to devour their frozen ice. I had a few bites of everyone's and it was so good. Very light and delicious flavors. This will be our go to when we want to treat ourselves. It's a little far from where we live but worth the drive.

I mean, we cleaned the PLATE. I'm writing this on the way home from eating it because I loved it that much We knew what we wanted when we walked in so it too no time for us to get it. They are made to order and clearly made with love Cute little shop in the CWE so be prepared to find parking The texture of the ice cream is beautiful and smooth and the toppings on this one are classic and simple and pair really well with the ice cream. The only thing I would suggest is adding a few larger pieces of graham cracker cause we love a lil crunch But we will for sure be back because they also make these in a frappe!

Thanks Yelp St. Louis for satisfying our sweet tooth at Vampire Penguin in the Central West End. This is a shaved ice concept, but don't let that fool you it's like a thick cotton candy on steroids type ice. The charming owners were both hilarious and so welcoming. They welcomed us like long-lost cousins, let us film every glittery second, and then served us the gooey butter cake. What's not to love? I had to physically remove myself from the area. Zero self-control. Negative willpower. If sugar could flirt, this would be a full-blown love affair. Go immediately.

Cute little dessert spot. The texture was very surprising and soft which I was not used to. I did find it a bit sweet but it might be the flavour I chose. I'll definitely check it out again. Staff was nice and friendly and service was quick.

Delicious shaved ice! We got Strawberry Cheesecake and Tres de Leche! Friendly service! Street meter parking! Space is small! Recommend bouncing after eating, especially if they're busy... or taking it to go.

The owners are enthusiastic and good at recommending toppings/sauces to go with your flavor of snow. I was craving Mango and just missed their seasonal offering, so I was pleased to build my own. The presentation is always lovely, too.

    Dulce de Leche
    Stacey C.

A new dessert shop opened and I had to go try it! This dessert concept is very cool. It's kind of like Italian ice but more soft and snowy. I ordered the Dulce de Leche which included bananas, a caramel drizzle, sweetened condensed milk, whipped cream, and crème brûlée from Havanas. It was so light and airy, but satisfying at the same time. The staff was super nice and gave us this recommendation. They also mentioned having a seasonal menu. I can't wait to come back and try their other flavors!

    Gracie L.

Coming from someone who is obsessed with sweet treats, Vampire Penguin gets my full approval! Shaved snow is unlike anything else I've had before. Not quite ice cream, not quite a snow cone, but it's fluffy, rich, and topped with the most beautiful details that make it as picturesque as it is delicious. I had one that was covered in all sorts of chocolate toppings, and I've also tried their popular strawberry cheesecake. I'm usually pretty loyal to anything chocolate through and through, but I'll admit that the strawberry cheesecake, despite having no chocolate at all, was incredible. There's lots of other flavors that caught my eye though, so I can't wait to go back and check them out. Staff exudes kindness and will provide you with a personable experience every time.

I smile, he is stone faced. I go to open the door as he walks away. The door is locked. I try a few more times, thinking maybe it's me. I look around at the hours again, but next to it is a "we're open" sign. I try maybe 3-4 times more before I give up. I walk to the window and he's sitting at a table toward the back, looking at me. They made a fresh pot of coffee and even went the extra mile to go get ice as we came in later in the evening and they had run out. I did tell them they didn't need to, but he insisted which I thought was outstanding. This quaint little café is so charming inside. It allows people to gather eat a sweet treat and have general conversation conversations where you can actually hear one another. They do have outside seating too. The chocolate cake was soft and as a non-cake lover I found this very delicious. Definitely worthy of sharing. I ordered a quiche to go. I had mentioned they didn't have the spinach feta pastry that I had before. The gentleman stated we have some in the back, I'm happy to get you one. So I ordered that too. And although this was only our second time coming, the fact that they'll make a fresh pot of coffee in my opinion is key to a great café. I will keep this in my rotation of places to go.

They do have a note that tapioca is not ready until 1030 AM each day. I ordered passionfruit with lychee with 50% less sugar with light ice. It was just right in sweetness. I like the tartness of passion fruit and that amount of sugar allowed for that with a slight sweetness. I loved that the seeds are in the juice. The drink was delicious. Honestly that's what sold us! Arrived and promptly ordered that dessert and the carrot cake. Then the server told us of their "to die for" tiramisu and my partner immediately said yes. WOW let me tell you from a first hand experience two people do NOT need three desserts. Cyrano's gives you AMAZING portions. Just one would have been enough lol. Anyways, the carrot cake was my favorite. It was so big I had enough to take home! The tiramisu was good but it was being overpowered by the carrot cake that evening. As for the brain chemistry altering bread pudding.... That google review was 100% correct. It was delicious. 10/10. No notes. Please order it if you go to Cyrano's. We started with the Korean fried cauliflower and it was honestly some of the best I've ever had. The batter was light, fluffy, and crispy, and the gochujang sauce with the mayo was sweet and sticky in the best way. Since it's a butchery, we had to try the steaks. I ordered the 4oz filet Oscar style. The meat was tender and very well seasoned, the crab was fresh, and the homemade hollandaise really pulled it all together. My husband had the ribeye. It was a flavorful cut, a little fatty (as ribeye tends to be), but exactly what you'd expect from that cut. The steaks come with a twice-baked potato and vegetable (or you can swap for different vegetables). The potato was flavorful but fairly dense. We also did the bread service - it was good, but felt a bit pricey for the portion. We ended with the flourless chocolate torte, which was very rich and the perfect way to finish the meal - especially on Valentine's Day. Overall, the food was good and the menu is solid. The quality was there, but the portions, bread service and sides didn't fully meet expectations. That said, it was still a lovely experience and a great date-night spot.
