The web site said that they were open but no one was there. No sign on the door "Back in 10 minutes" or anything like that. So I got back in my car and called. No answer. I left a VM. Did hear back in the late afternoon, that maybe the receptionist had locked the door and gone to the restroom or something. OK, but she should have left a note. I am from out of town so this was an inconvenience for me. Anyway, I went back on the next morning, Saturday, and there was one person there. She brought out my glasses. I asked a couple of questions and she did not have answers that satisfied me at all. Again, not warm and friendly at all, no smile, very cold. I really expected to be treated better. As I said, not going back. Sincerely, the cashier at the local gas station where I stopped on the way home was more friendly and treated me with more respect that the receptionist who met me at Travis Street Optical Saturday morning. It's a great neighborhood, family-own optometrist that was recommended by our local school PTO…read more The communication leading up to the appointment wasn't excessive (texts, emails, and phone calls), and just enough to be told that I had successfully booked an appointment, and that my appointment was coming up. I walked into my appointment, and was greeted immediately and walked back to the room for the initial examination. It was quick! I then saw the doctor, who was a cool, bearded gentleman that spoke calmly, clearly, and answered all my questions. He even recommended products that he uses by pulling them up on the internet using a large screen for me to see. Eye examines are annual, maybe bi-annual appointments for me, but if I had the opportunity to go often, I would! My entire appointment, including checking out frames took 40 minutes from the time I walked in the door.
