Returned after my lease was up after 39 months. I was interested at either to purchase it or sign another lease of 2019 GMC Denali. The "manager" must thought I'm an idiot because the price she quote me was less than what I would have to pay for a Cadillac. I was literally at Cadillac before headed to GMC. I asked if that was the best price she could offered and even told her I was getting better price for the Escalate, she said yes. When I asked her about purchasing the vehicle, I have the contract with me saying $41,064 but somehow she add some strange number to $44,675 then plus fees/tax it was up to $49,932 plus finance charge of $9,778. Somehow by the end of this my total was close to $59K. I am just curious what she was thinking when shes putting all these numbers in? Wow, I was so speechless and offended at the same time. As I was nearing the end of my lease term on my 2021 Yukon I was told by GM Financial that if I wanted to purchase the vehicle I would have to contact my local dealership. After contacting the dealership (Van GMC - the same location where I purchased the vehicle) to inquire about the process, I decided to compare interest rates and provided the sales representative with my credit information to run a credit check. During this call, I politely asked the sales rep (Richard Glassman) if he could send me a copy of my signed lease agreement and my extended warranty. Mr. Glassman told me he could not do this and that he did not have access to the documents I was requesting. While running my credit, Mr. Glassman called me and I once again asked politely for copies of my signed lease agreement and extended warranty. Mr. Glassman told me again that he could not do this and I asked if there was any way for him to get me these records and he again said no. As an attorney, I am very well aware that dealerships maintain these records and with a little effort they could have easily obtained them and complied with my reasonable request. After I informed Mr. Glassman that I respectfully did not agree with his repeated assertion that he could not get me these documents, he began mocking me to his co-worker, and then the co-worker got on the call only to tell me to go find another dealership before he abruptly hung up the phone. Mr. Glassman then accidentally called me back and I could hear him laughing with his co-worker saying this "made his day." Over the past 4 years I have be routinely disappointed with the customer service of this dealership time and time again. In fact, I am still waiting on a part that was ordered for the Yukon OVER 2 Years ago which has never come in and for which I have received no communication even though this is a leased vehicle. I was also forced to bring in the vehicle for service on multiple occasions due to large amounts of water leaking through the roof as a result of a design flaw in the moon/sun roof. This problem went unfixed after several service visits and after having the car in service for multiple weeks. Due to their service department backlog, you also have to drop off your vehicle days before someone is even able to look at and diagnose the vehicle, which is extremely frustrating especially when they are usually unable to give you a comparable loaner vehicle while your vehicle sits in their shop. As someone who has leased and purchased cars almost every 3 years for the past 20 years I have never dealt with a dealership, and sales representatives, that have been this incompetent, uncooperative and disrespectful to its customers. In this instance, all I did was ask to receive a copy of my signed lease contract prior to moving forward with the purchase of my vehicle. It became very clear that Mr. Glassman did not want to make any effort to figure out how to satisfy this reasonable request, which causes me to believe he did not want me to review the terms of the lease (for some reason or another). He then repeatedly lied to me by stating that this information could not be obtained when this is simply not true as I have obtained this very same information many times in litigation from dealerships especially when the lease term has yet to even expire. Worse yet, to be hung-up on and told to find another dealership by a person I never even spoke to or met because I simply asked for a copy of my lease agreement and extended warranty is appalling and just another example of the complete lack of professionalism and customer service exhibited by the dealership's employees that appears to be ignored by upper management. This dealership could learn a lot from the practice, policies and professionalism that is exhibited by the other North Scottsdale dealerships that I have purchased and leased vehicles from, including Mercedes, Bentley and BMW. read more

Was looking to get a Buick Envision for my wife. Had leased an Envision previously from Van Buick. I was not overly impressed previously and was considering getting something entirely different. That was until my wife and I met Kaylee. She was very knowledgeable and professional, and there was none of the car salesman BS which you usually get in all dealerships. It's an incredible turnoff! "Hi Mark, I am not going to sugar coat this, this was hands down the worst experience I've had with a dealership when in the beginning stages of purchasing a vehicle. You guys pulled my credit and shot it out to TWENTY banks...even after I have it in writing that you guys do not have permission to shotgun my credit out. The best part is, Dave, your manager, then proceeded to shoot my credit out even more despite NOT EVEN having the vehicle in stock that we were wanting, etc. and neither of you had the audacity to call me back or give me any answers at all. Honestly one of the worst companies for communication. When I first purchased the car they told me I would have it within 5 days and that it was in transit. On the 5th day I called and they said it was there but that they had to do an inspection and that it would be ready the next day. This went on for 5 days. Finally after getting upset and complaining, they delivered my car. Upon receiving the car, they failed to tell me they only had 1 key. I reached out and they told me they only had one but that it was getting shipped. I said okay and waited a week before calling back. I called back and they kept telling me they would check on it and then call me back. They would never call back. I would wait a few days then call and get the same response. This has been going on for 2 weeks now and I still don't have the key. This is soo unprofessional and it's upsetting how bad the communcation has been. I cannot recommend this dealership due to all the issues I've been having. I will say the finance department was quick and easy. I've purchased a few cars in the last few years and this was the easiest to deal with. I wish this was a more positive review but I feel it's important to share my experience. ----UPDATE---- Finally spoke with a manager and they told me to come down and they will have to cut me a new key. I drove 30 mins to then wait 20 mins just for them the to tell me they didn't have any keys and that I needed to come back in 2 days. I had to drive back 30 mins to my office. 0 Integrity!!! DON'T GO I have been going on my 4th year leasing at this dealership. I Had referred and bragged about my all loaded GMC Acadia and now my Buick Enclave to everyone I know. In the midst of a pandemic, we ended up upgrading and going for a higher lease. The Only condition was for them to take care of my over mileage ($400). They AGREED see pictures below. 5 months later the dealership have stopped all communication with GMC financial leaving me with the bill and screwing up my credit. I have texts of our deal and GMC financial basically told me to reach out to their financial department myself as they can't get them to respond nor taking care of the balance. I called the financial department of the dealership and despite my composed explanation of the issue, they literally just hang up on me. I called back asked to speak to the manager of the place, and after being put on hold, and being told he will call me back, no one has in the last week. It's not about the money it's about PRINCIPLES and INTEGRITY. I received an email for regularly schedule service estimated an 188 dollars. Upon my arrival, I was immediately told it was time to change all my fluids for close to 1000 and I would be given an Uber Ride home. As unappealing as an Uber ride was, not taking into account the cost to bet back, I decided to do the service another day. I came home and looked at my records to find I had all my fluids (transmission, coolant, brake fluid and transfer cases) changed by Van GMC less than 2 years and 20k miles prior. My suggestion is review your records before you go, because you Service Advisor sure doesn't or is just plain dishonest. I have a complete loss of trust and won't be back. read more

Bought a car from Van Gmc in April. We were talked into an extended warrantee and found out that it covers nothing. We knew there were problems with the car and they would cover. They assured me that a 100 point inspection was done and there were no mechanical issues. when we brought it in to get fixed at another dealership found multiple problems. Gave us $500 out of $1000 repair. The warranty company refunded the cost of the warranty no thanks to Van. I had bought a used Jeep; he had the process streamlined even for me having just dropped in. After I purchased the Jeep, I drove it around for a couple of days and found there was an issue. The Jeep had a shimmy in the front end (also known as the Jeep Death Wobble). I brought it back thinking it was going to be a fight to get the issue cleared up. Cameron dealt with the red tape like a champ! He got it in to service that day. The service department did a stellar job, no more wobble and they found another issue with the gas tank that they took care of. I have had the vehicle back for two weeks now and no issues. Recently bought a used Honda Accord Hybrid from Van Buick GMC and after only one week of ownership a maintenance is due soon light came on in my dash. It says it needs spark plugs and after talking to a Honda dealership it is also supposed to have the valve clearances reset on the heads. It is a $550.00 service. Being that I had only had the car a week and considering Van Buick GMC told me that it had been completely checked over when I bought it I feel like they should cove this maintenance for me. There is no way I would have bought the car knowing I'd have to come out of pocket another $550.00 after owning it just one week. When you pay the premium of buying from a dealership you expect them to take of you in a situation like this. Unfortunately once they have your money at Van Buick GMC they couldn't care less. Not to mention they lied to me about the gas mileage the previous owner was getting with the car. My salesman Nick Lerma told me the previous owner averaged between 45 and 50 miles to the gallon with this car. Which is what it is supposed to average but after owning it I found where it stores the average MPG for the car over a given period of time. Over the last 85k miles the last owner only averaged about 36 mpg. In any case I would avoid Van Buick GMC if at all possible. They will not take care of you if you have a problem and on top of that they will lie to your face just to get the sale. UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST I called the number that manager left it's just their regular number. I've talked to multiple people there in person and over the phone. If you call they transfer you around until you get to someone who doesn't answer, you leave a message, and they don't call you back. I talked to Service manager in person I think his name was Kosta or something. He was supposed to get back with me also but never did. Also if you do for some reason decide to buy from them do not get the MPP protection plan unless they offer you a better rate at financing. If you say no they will give you a better rate to try to get you to buy it. Just make sure you cancel it immediately as soon as you can. On my car it was only 12 months or 12,000 miles. They don't tell you that at the dealership. They make it sound like it's for much longer. It's prorated, I cancelled mine the day I got the card in the mail. read more

Brand New $55,000 GMC Breaks Down After 1 Month of Purchase " I purchased a 2018 GMC Sierra Denali for $55,000 out the door, just about a month ago. When purchasing the vehicle, the sales manager Ariel was extremely rude, but I let it slide (I contemplated taking my business to Liberty GMC, which I am now kicking myself in the butt for not doing so). I traded in a pristine 911 Carrera 4S with 22,000 miles to obtain this vehicle, and so far it has been the biggest mistake I have ever made!!! The truck had a ding in it, and the sales person said to give him a call and they would arrange to have it fixed, since it was there before the purchase was complete. Then I went down to their finance, and decided to finance with them to get the additional GMC incentives. The finance guy asked if I would like to add an extended warranty and gave me until the following Tuesday to call and add it before the loan funded. I called and emailed both the sales and finance guy, multiple times, leaving messages, with no return calls or emails from either. To make matters worst last Tuesday, April 30th (a month after purchase) the truck breaks down on Scottsdale Rd, in the middle of rush hour traffic, the transmission and check engine light both go off. I coast the vehicle into the nearest parking lot and immediately call the dealership and OnStar. I am now thinking I may have been sold a lemon and have looked into the laws pertaining to that. I am given a loaner, which is a Buick Encore, not even a comparable model to my Denali. The service department tells me to take it until the vehicle is fixed. Then I get a call the next day from someone else at the dealer claiming the vehicle had been sold, and I needed to return it and on top of that, he mentions it only had one day plates (however it has a dealer plate on it...which doesn't add up) I asked them to exchange me out a vehicle, and then crickets... Fast forward to today Wednesday, May 8th, the truck is still in the service department (they weren't able to look at the vehicle until Friday, May 3rd), I am getting the run around from everyone from service to sales. The last I heard was the vehicle needed a little part that could take 5-7 business days to ship, and they are unable to overnight it from Michigan (it's 2019 and very hard to believe that to be true), they can't get a tracking number on the part either (B.S.). On top of that, they couldn't let me know how long it would take to repair the vehicle either. I tried contacting the GM Matt Cerreta directly today, but I just got the excuse that he wasn't in and they couldn't get a hold of him. The worst part is, I have a huge family trip scheduled in exactly two weeks up to Colorado. My girlfriend and I both took a week and a half off of work, with plans to haul our side by side and dirt bikes with my brand new GMC... Needless to say, I am extremely unhappy, appalled and disgusted by the lack of courtesy and professionalism this particular dealer has. All I am asking for is a straight answer, and not the run around. I am hoping they can do the right thing and rectify this situation ASAP. read more

I would not ever buy or have my car Serviced by VAN's GMC... The Service managers could care less if they are help you or not. I had to retake my car in for service today to repair a seat cover that was torn by the service guy over a month ago. It was to take 1 to 11/2 hrs. 5 Hours later i was told to repair was done and when to my car to see tools still in my car and car seat cover was completed. Expected to pick it up today only to find it did not have the trailering equipment I ordered and they had also added a couple of thousand dollars worth of added on dealer installed cosmetic items without asking me for approval. One of these items was standard equipment from the factory but yet they wanted to charge me double for it. They did not honor the signed deal we had. I have a Buick cascade And I had a coolant leak. I brought my car in at 8:00am on a Saturday and it too then over 6 days to diagnose and fix the problem. The service said they checked my breaks. Days later and less than 40 miles my front passenger caliper seized and destroyed my rotor. The other pads had almost no life on them. They either didn't inspect or they screwed it up. Buyer beware. Rip-off artists. I called to make an appointment to get my 1-ton dually serviced with an oil change and tire rotation. They quoted me a price of around $120. They even tried to up-grade me to a fuel filter but I know the fuel filter was good for at least another 25%...it actually has another 42%. When I arrived I told the gentleman receiving vehicles I had an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. When it came time to pay they handed me a bill for $279. I would normally fight for the amount I was quoted but needed to leave. Ben said they took the tires all the way off the rims and rebalanced all of them. But that's not what I asked for. I wanted a simple tire rotation which I can readily get at Chapman Chevrolet in Tempe - where I'll be going back to in the future. It's worth the extra 10 miles. I usually take my truck to Chapman Chevrolet where I get stellar service and if something changes they let me know before doing anything. Not at Van Buick GMC. I wouldn't recommend this dishonest establishment, Van Buick GMC, under any circumstances. If you're broken down have the tow truck driver take you somewhere else. Tom read more

I took my truck in for 20k service and requested oil change and fuel filter change. I told my advisor that I purchased the Maintenance plan from this dealership. He said it didn't cover fuel filter replacement. I thought that was the definition of maintenance. I told him to replace it anyhow because it was needed. He asked if I wanted to wait an hour for it. I said I would leave it and be back. 21/2 hours later I called to see if they would be done soon and was told they were "wrapping it up". When I got there my service advisor said the truck wasn't ready and I shouldn't have been told it was. After another 30 minutes, good thing I didn't wait the whole time, they brought my invoice up and my service advisor went to get the truck. I could see I had not been charged for Fuel filter replacement and asked if had been done. I was told that it was done. When I was driving home my service light for fuel filter came on again. I called to confirm that that service had been done with the service manager. I left two messages and have not received any contact. I YouTubed hoe to change the filter and did it myself. Worst experience. I wouldn't recommend them at all. I purchased a vehicle from them and it was a nightmare. They called me to pick up the vehicle. I waited two hours for them to finally acknowledge my presence only to have them hand me a key and tell me they didn't have the vehicle detailed, fueled, and the other key was checked out. I had to come back for both of those. A few days later they did the detailing, but said they lost the key. A week later they finally were able to schedule an appointment for a new key. They apologized of course and said they'd "take care of me", not sure what that was supposed to mean because nothing. In addition to that, I have not received any of my paperwork after a month! Warning Do NOT TRUST THEM they continue to bs you, they lied to me about saying I needed there extended warranty to get my interest rate down and there price is false advertising because there price was $48,000 out the door and when I arrived there they told me it's $1,800 more for some road packages which is illegal to do that's called a bait and switch and now even with there oil changes, they told me when I purchased the vehicle I get a year free and now they said I get one, do not trust anything they say Im already contacting the better business bureau and attorney general so no one gets ripped off as much as I did,do not believe there replays either they do not get back to you it's another scam. read more

I went in for an oil change (one of the free ones in the lease package) and decided I'd rather go down road and pay for one instead. David R had worked us in since we were about to go out of town. Ok - much appreciated, but that's kind of a regular occurrence for a service department, I would think. I asked a few questions. My wife said later that he must have been in a bad mood because he seemed huffy from the start. I commented that we chose to come to this dealership because the one we bought from had been an unpleasant experience and that frankly he was exhibiting some of those traits. Well, that set him off. He demanded to know what was my problem with him. Wasn't he doing me a big favor to work me in? I said, "Nevermind...", but then he really got in my face for an answer. I told my wife we were leaving. He said that if there are two places I can't deal with, maybe the problem is me. There was never any attempt to diffuse the situation - in fact he kept escalating. I went into the service office to talk with the manager. He wasn't available, so I talked with Kevin. David R sat about ten feet away and mumbled, loudly enough to assure that I heard him: "Two dealerships are not the problem - he is. I've never been treated this way!" Now, remember that is the service guy complaining that I am declining to deal with him; it's all my fault??? He wasn't crying, but he certainly was trying to attract sympathy. At one point he got so loud that Kevin waved him to be quiet. Well...I don't like going to dealerships anyway, but I sure won't return to one with service people this rude and strangely pitiable. read more

Bought my truck in Feb 2020, lights coming 0n. ABS LIGHT, needed speed sensor $500 +. Ext warranty won't cover and Van won't pick it up. 45k for the truck, wish I knew this was going to start breaking up so soon. read more

I was hesitant to bring my car here for service due to the bad reviews. I took a chance since it's close and they had a lot of open appointments. When I arrived on Friday I was greeted promptly and Jacob took my list of issues that I wanted them to look into. He was very upset front about likely needing the car to stay until Monday (there were seven things on the list!) and explained why he would need it that full time. He had a full quote to me by midday Friday with easy to navigate options for selecting which services I wanted them to complete. The car was done by 3pm on Monday and pickup was easy! The only complaint that I have is that my car smelled of body odor when I picked it up. Overall, highly satisfied by the quality of work, communication and time it took to complete. Very disappointed with GM and Van's GMC. I purchased a new 2019 Yukon Denali and in under 16,000 miles and 20 months the battery died. After going thru numerous communications, they emailed saying customers buy their vehicles for their high quality and "Exceptional customer service". They denied my warranty claim without any explanation. I talked with the sales manager at Van's he was of absolutely no help. They had no problem cashing my check for over $80,000, but aren't willing to reimburse me $285 for the battery I has to purchase. I will take my future business elsewhere! read more
