I love Van Cleef and have been a customer for some time now, but this was my second time visiting this location. I did stop by once a couple of months back, and the experience was quite similar, so I decided to purchase online instead. This time, I was slapped again with such poor and rude customer service. I was checked in by Sean Chin, who came out with a huge smile, and once I said, "Oh, I know what I want. I would just like a Sweet Alhambra pendant," he automatically changed his welcoming attitude into absolutely ignoring my existence and doing the bare minimum. Yes, this pendant is just over $2,000, but I have spent way more with VC, and the fact that he is treating customers differently just because of the price mark, which, to be honest, is not a small price tag (especially if you're a girl boss treating yourself or your loved ones with your hard-earned money ;) ) shows that they are trained to treat customers differently based on the price tag. In the past, they would take me to a table, place the jewelry out, present different options, and talk about a piece, as honestly, each piece is pure art, but this time he tried showing me the necklace in the middle of the room, no table to place my belongings, literally just standing in the middle of the store with him holding the necklace in his hand, until I asked where can I place my water and bag... Such a shame that this poorly trained customer service is running such a beautiful name. VC really should consider investing in training. I definitely won't be trying this location for the third time and rather purchase online myself or drive to the Costa Mesa location. read more

Rachel was happy to take my money, but no customer service thereafter. After not hearing anything for weeks, I called Rachel, who told me it would now be another 3 months around Valentine's Day. I eventually spoke with the manager, who told me he would get back to me the next day. I have not heard anything. I ordered a piece 6 months ago, having paid in full. Negative stars if possible. I've gone into the Van Cleef in Beverly Hills a few times now, and every single visit has been disappointing. Each time, I was completely overlooked. No greeting, no acknowledgment. I had to go out of my way to ask for help, which already doesn't set a great tone, especially somewhere that's supposed to offer a luxury experience. I don't usually make an appointment beforehand, but I never do at any other jewelry house and it's never been an issue. I've always been welcomed and helped regardless, so this really stood out to me. What really bothered me was watching them help someone who came in after me before even acknowledging I was there, while I clearly knew what I wanted and ready to make a purchase without even trying it on. Took the broken necklace to a local jeweler just to figure out what's going on with it after being insulted and gaslit by Rachel at the BH boutique. Jeweler went over the entire chain with a magnifier and found MULTIPLE, NOT EVEN JUST ONE BUT MULTIPLE, links that were not welded together properly. The necklace my mom received from VCA is a poorly made, low quality piece that Rachel accused her of cutting herself. THIS is what you're paying thousands of dollars for. VCA demanding she pay $180 to fix their defective product is laughable. Like many other people, I too thought VCA was truly an exceptional luxury brand, until recently. There's the viral story on social media about how poorly another woman was treated after her gold(?!?!) bracelet tarnished shortly after purchasing (funny enough, she was insulted and gaslit by her sales rep too and even received a super passive aggressive gift from VCA), and my mom's experience with her piece. She's going to escalate with a manager after learning about the faulty welds but neither of us expect a good response. If you're not paying 10s of thousands for high jewelry which I'm sure makes the sales people bend into a pretzel to appease you, don't waste your time or money. read more

After having a fall and breaking 1 stone - I went to the boutique to inquire about repair. I was informed they would have to replace all 5 stones to create a good match. I would also be responsible for paying for all 5 stones. I said I wasn't picky and if they don't match perfect, that's fine. They said that would not be acceptable from van cleef standards. I thought about it for a couple weeks - then returned to get the repair done. I wanted to confirm with the sales lady that I would be receiving the 4 undamaged stones back from the bracket. I was informed I would not - they would be destroyed. How can I be forced to pay for 4 stones if i won't be given back the 4 I already paid for? Especially if I'm ok with just replacing 1. This company continues to disappoint in quality and more specifically service. Below is the email I sent to them (no response) Subject: Service Request * - Bracelet Repair Dear Van Cleef & Arpels Client Services, I am writing regarding service request * for my bracelet repair at your Beverly Hills boutique. The bracelet had one broken motif. I was advised that all five motifs must be replaced, at a cost of $1,250 plus labor. I requested that only the broken motif be replaced, even if it did not match perfectly. When I returned to proceed, I confirmed that I would receive the four unbroken motifs from my bracelet. I was told this was not possible. As I purchased the bracelet, those motifs are my property. If Van Cleef requires replacing all five, I should receive back the four undamaged motifs. Alternatively, if the four motifs cannot be returned, I should only be charged for replacing the single broken motif. I respectfully ask that this matter be reconsidered and resolved fairly. read more

Lance was exceptional. From the moment I walked in I was warmly greeted and he tried to be as helpful as possible without being to sales centric. I told him the color/style of bracelet my wife wanted for her first mothers day. At no fault of Lance the timeline was rather short and he was upfront about how it may be difficult to get the piece in time for mothers day. Low and behold a week before Mothers Day I got a call from him letting me know the piece was in and ready for pick up. This is my first time stopping by this location. I actually have been avoiding it due to traffic in this area. I called and made an appointment before coming in. There's free parking in the parking structure across the store for two hours. This location left a good impression on me as a client. The showroom was fully decorated and service was excellent. Rachel helped me with an exchange. She offered my mom and I water bottles and chocolates while we wait. I appreciate the fact that she measured my wrist so that it's the right size for me, which the other location didn't do. I have emailed this company several times in order to verify purchase and I get no response. The sad part is we actually plan to spend more money with them if this ring we purchased is legit then we were gonna buy the whole matching set, necklace earrings bracelet. But it's been days and no response and I seriously doubt a company like this is getting flooded with emails every day unless it's spam and if that's the case, they should have that remedied. I really wanted to get my first VCA piece at the BH store but unfortunately they didn't have a lot of stock of either the guilloche or the vintage Alhambra pieces. Compared to the Neiman Marcus boutique in SF and the store inside the Aria in Las Vegas I really appreciated the boutique feel of this location. They had a variety of historical pieces on display and a few seating rooms to wait for your SA. They were prompt to offer us beverages while we waited to be helped. I've been wanting the onyx Alhambra pendant necklace or the bracelet for some time now. So on Monday March 3, 2025 I finally decided to treat myself to it. So I called the Sunday before to schedule an appointment and Monday I came in on time for my appointment. Upon approaching the door it was locked, the doorman let me in, greeted me followed by a warm greeting by the receptionist. After she checked me in she told me to go wait in the juice bar lounge. It's a lounge with a handsome waiter there to give you water, sparkling water, freshly squeezed juice or a glass of champagne. I chose champagne. So I waited there maybe 10 minutes max before a gentleman by the name of Andre Esperias came up to me. May I note he didn't introduce himself I had to ask him what his name was. He asked what could he help me with and I said may I get your name first, because it seemed rude not to first introduce yourself by name (first rule in clienteling but I digress) so I tell him what I was interested in and we stood there in an awkward silence for a couple seconds before I had to ask could I sit at his desk to discuss everything, like why are we talking here in front of the juice bar waiter guy, so he finally invited me to his desk. (Second off putting thing, please keep count lol) we get to his desk and he's shows me the different stones and gives me his recommendations as far as the stones if I wanted everyday usage and lets me know the necklace I wanted had to be transferred from their Toronto boutique. I had no problem he told me it would be 2 weeks. Now I've shopped at Cartier , Bvlgari and many other high end jewelry places and have never been told a transfer would take that long. Most brands will do an expedited thing especially for something over $3,000... It was quite unbelievable but I agreed, paid for item in cash and he told me he could add an extended chain piece to the necklace because it was tighter than I expected and that it too would be additional 2 days wait, I agreed. Paid , he gave me his number and I left. Fast forward 7 days later I texted Andre just for an update. I was ignored. I sent a "?" And then and only then did he reply saying he was out of work. To me that isn't much of an excuse but ok. I'll give him that. He told me only because I texted him (keep that in mind) that my necklace arrived early and that I could pick it up Wednesday after 12. Wednesday after 12 I texted Andre again to make sure I was good to pick up necklace and again he ignored me. So I called the store irritated and they asked if they could call me back in a few minutes to confirm and they did and that is when I came up there to pick up my necklace. Now why did I rate my experience 2 stars? I rated my experience 2 stars because from the initial meet I felt as though Andre was only concerned in getting the sale and anything after that he was uninterested which is a horrible trait to have as a sales associate. Advice to him there is more to being a sales associate than just collecting a sale. A good sales associate is easy to get in contact with, updates you each step of the way, goes over and beyond to help and accommodate and unfortunately none of these qualities were shown to me by Andre. It maybe because I am African American. A lot of none black people feel within their mind that blacks aren't deserving of luxury and I see it all the time as I shop a lot and love fashion. It's sad. Also take the color equation out some sales associates envy the fact they cannot afford the very things they work to sell LOL and being black on top of that makes some of them even madder. But the race aspect is my unfortunate reality as a black man who loves shopping high end. So if you go there as an AA I wouldn't recommend the person Andre Esperias. read more

Let me start by stating that I love Van Cleef & Arpels. I'm a fan of the story behind their evolution, the philosophy and their stunning pieces. This review is reflective of the Rodeo Drive location in particular. Something I'd think a company that values customer service would like to be aware of. I chose to visit this location as it's close to where i was staying in Los Angeles. I made the appointment weeks in advance. Arriving on time I was let in with no problem. My sales associate was a younger blonde woman with short hair. She was enthusiastic in showing pieces that were well over $6,000-$8,000. Her interest quickly ran out when she saw I was opting for the smaller less costly pieces. My review is 3 stars because 1) I did end up purchasing what I wanted so there's that and 2) no matter how impatiently and begrudgingly--I was allowed to try on 3-4 pieces. Two stars knocked off because of the absolute lack of interest this particular person showed in making me a customer. At times I was provided misinformation about the pieces and had to correct the sales associate by referring them to the website! And lastly a star knocked off due to the after purchase customer service. My piece needed an extender for which it would need to be sent out, adjusted and then sent back to me. 3.5 weeks after the my purchase I hadn't heard a word from the sales associate. I had to reach out myself to inquire about it, the reply was a cursory 'yes it's ready, I'll send it out tomorrow'. Upon receipt of my piece there was no travel pouch provided. In response to this I was told 'sorry we're out of travel pouches.' Some may argue that these seem like petty reasons....however I'm writing this review after subsequently visiting 2 Van Cleef & Arpels locations in Las Vegas where I am truly floored by the level of customer service! The warmth and welcoming nature of the staff at these locations--what can I say I bought 3x as much in Vegas and will likely never visit the Rodeo location if I can help it! All in all if there is another location in Los Angeles I'd advise to visit them rather than this one. Being snooty and impatient is so early 2000's and passé, warmth and kindness is the what wins customers! read more

Disgustingly rude workers at this location! I was trying to exchange a necklace I got for a different one and no one would help me out. First I had called to make sure they had the necklace I wanted, AND THEY JUST HUNG UP ON ME!!! Then I showed up at the store and they asked how they could help, I said I was here to do an exchange and all of a sudden it is by appointment only?!!! LOL yea right! Not even Cartier across the street is by appointment only, they simply just didn't want to help my out because there wasn't enough commission money in it for them. The lady then blatantly lied to us and told us that all SA's are currently on lunch (at 3pm... when the store closes at 5pm lol) this is why I hate shopping at Rodeo Drive, all the lowly sales workers want to act all high and mighty! As if they could afford ANYTHING at the stores they work at if it weren't for their hefty employee discount! What a joke! Now I will have to drive all the way to VCA at South Coast Plaza to do the return! Over the weekend my husband surprised me with a visit to VCA. The Rodeo location is very different from the Vegas location. First of all, an appointment is mandatory. I saw many people getting turned away at the entrance so this is a must. Secondly, it's a much more intimate boutique experience. When you show up for your appointment, you are assigned a sales advisor. Each sales desk is placed in various parts of the store. Instead of browsing through glass cases, you tell them what you are interested in and they bring it to you. The whole experience was exquisite and never felt rushed. My sales person Daria listened to all of my concerns and brought out additional items for me to try and to compare against. For my first piece I decided to go with the vintage Alhambra mother of pearl necklace with the intention to pair sweet Alhambra bracelet in the same motif. I found the necklace length a bit short and opted to have it lengthened an inch per complimentary service. Another thing to note, you can make a down payment for min 50% of price for items currently out of stock. I can't wait to come back to add to my blooming collection! read more

This review is for AMY Heimann? It was a few days before Christmas time, the 2nd time I decided to buy stuff from the Rodeo store. This time due to Christmas rush hour, I just decided to go for whoever's available and I got Amy Heimann. She looked exhausted and out of breath. I understood it's Xmas time but her attitude made me decided I will never go back to Rodeo VCA again. 1. I was deciding between two sweet Alhambra earrings: White or Red. She doesn't has the red one so she's only showing me the white MOP. I kindly ask if she has the sweet Alhambra carnelian bracelet to show me so I can pair with my skin tone. She looked at me asked "WHAT? WHY?" Oh well maybe because I was wearing a mask so she didnt hear well . So I explained 3 times and finally she understood and went to get the bracelet. Before she goes, she stopped me from looking at the Mother of Pearl earrings and said " I can't let you alone with the jewelry!" Ok...I understood its store policy but her tone sounded like I'm gonna grab the earrings and run out of the store. Common I'm just a tiny Asian girl I can't even get thru you security guy alright...chill......calm down..... 2. I was also interested in the Lucky butterfly & Alhambra earrings ( MOP & Tiger Eyes). Amy said " It's DISCOUNTINED. We stopped making them." ( which is not true because I just got it special ordered from South Coast VCA and it was made and shipped to the store within 1 month!!!) Apparently AMY doesn't care about VCA's business and she would turn customers away. She would rather sell me the cheaper available product then putting extra effort to let VCA makes 3 times more money from me. 3. Eventaully I did buy the carnelian earrings from AMY, supposed to be arriving after Christmas. 1 week passed I texted her asking but she said she hasn't received yet. Another week later I happened to stop by South Coast Plaza VCA and they had the same earring so I just decided to grab them. When they tried to cancel the order from AMY, it showed the order HAS NEVER BEEN PROCESSED. I was waiting for nothing the whole time. I'd rather drive 1 hour to South Coast VCA. Their SA are chill and polite. They spent time to explain the art and craftsmanship with customers. the experience with AMY...made me feel like I'm the last customer before closing at a Fried chicken store...... read more

This review goes specifically towards the Manager Ashley, thank you so much for allowing us to walk in today. You were helpful from the moment I called, a day before. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to come down, but Ashley remembered our phone call and knew I was coming from far away. The establishment is absolutely beautiful, from the moment you walk in, it's white glove service. The bar in the back, with fresh juices, waters, snacks and desserts was the perfect touch. Once being helped, Daria (our sales rep) was nothing short of helpful and gave us her honest opinion on all the pieces. This was a birthday gift for my wife, initially we came in for 1 bracelet, but once seeing how beautiful the pieces looked stacked next to each other, I decided to just buy her both. Once deciding on the pieces, we asked if maybe they might have the micro Alhambra necklace, and sure enough they had only a few left. 5-Stars doesn't even begin to reflect our experience at Van Cleef & Arpels The Mr & I had seen an ad in a SF Ballet Program that VCA was having an exhibit to honor 45 years being in Beverly Hills - remembering the gorgeous exhibits of Cartier & Bulgari that were recently at SF's De Young Museum, we planned a quick dip down to LA, during our New Year's getaway in Solvang......best move ever! Immediately greeted and welcomed to the shop, we were shown to the exhibit rooms, told about the history of some pieces & directed to their unique qualities ( look at the convertible zipper necklaces ) and had a chance to watch a bit of their video loop which educated us how all of their pieces are handmade; how their mystery settings are crafted.....and these can all be seen on their YouTube channel. I had no idea they had their own YouTube channel!! We were advised about 60% of the pieces here were on loan from personal collections - wow! And also included lovelies from the Lucille Ball & Elizabeth Taylor Estates.......encouraged to take pics, I was in heaven! The girl helping us checked in without seeming hovering and when we were ready to look at their current selection, she happily pulled out several pieces for me to model & even suggested another double ring I never would have selected myself but it has now been haunting me We parted with fantastic memories of the sparklie beauties I saw & modeled and a heartfelt & gracious thanks for taking the time to visit them. We have never felt so welcome & words just can't describe how lovely the whole experience was - the jewels are exquisite, the staff is likewise so and I have a whole new appreciation ( & crush ) on VCA read more
