Fabulous pizza! Very kid friendly. A wonderful place to eat in Friday Harbor. The brownies for dessert were yummy too!

Well here I am again at this place. I like thin crust pizza and this place has thin crust pizza, so that's good. Only problem is, it is soggy thin crust pizza and I like crispy thin crust pizza. Also, the pizza just doesn't look very good, kind of a mono colored orange. I like pizza that has some definition to the ingredients. I know I sound kind of weird saying that, but a lot of pizza places get this right i.e MOD pizza, Zeeks, and many more. There is a little suggestion that this is gourmet pizza, not really, a few unique ingredients but nothing special at all. So...bottom line for me is nice room, okay service, okay pizza, a little pricey, a few good beers and wine, an improvement in that area over the last pizza place in this space, but hey, it's Friday Harbor, don't have high expectations. read more

My restaurant expectations on island are always low - service is generally terrible but at least you are able to get food. During open hours, calling the restaurant for the past half hour to order a pizza to go, no one is answering their phone. I guess that is too much to ask for Friday harbor. read more

Good place for pizza. They also have Mac and Jacks African Amber which is a huge plus. Quaint little patio in the back with patio seating. Garden like setting. Easy walking distance from downtown. I will come back. read more

We wanted pizza and were on a mission to find the best one in Friday Harbor, Washington. So far, Van Go's Pizza is IT. Just the right amount of cheese, pepperoni and mushrooms. Nice crust, quiet location and best of all, they were nice enough to make us a pizza when they were already closed. Dan is a great chef and formerly of Vinny's Restorante. We got a couple of pizzas to go, and loved this place. - very pleasant atmosphere (we got our meal to go, so can't really speak to the restaurant itself) - got simple pizzas, just a sausage and a cheese, but they super good: great crust--thin and tasty. Even the pizza-snob New Yorker liked them! - pizzas were ready exactly when promised. Since the pizzas were right of the oven, they were still piping hot when we got them back to the house for a feast of pizza, beer, and salad out on the deck. Awesome. Food? 5-stars. Wine? 4+ stars. Service? Uuugggghhhhh... We were on a tight timeline and tried to call ahead. Nope. Phone was clearly off the hook, as when we arrived there were only two tables seated. Asked - immediately - if we could get in and out in an hour. "Sure, no problem." Um, actually a slight problem. I totally get "island time", but we really had someplace to be (and we are currently late)... The pizza is bomb, though. We had Gorgonzola & chicken and prosciutto & pear. So good. Pretty good pizza. We had #6, an arugula and roasted garlic number. The Caesar Salad was a little salty, which is the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five. Daniel makes fantastic food! The homemade pizza is thin and crisp, just the way we like it. It melts in your mouth. The salads are fresh and generous. There is a wonderful cozy courtyard out back with flowers and comfy seating. This is off the beaten path but worth finding. Loved it! read more

This place was such a treat. The woman who owns it is a gem, and the pizza was delicious. I was traveling with others who also really loved it. We got the Prima, Pesto, and Pear & Prosciutto pizzas. Highly recommend this cute, cozy pizza place. read more

For Friday Harbour the options after 8pm are very limited. Talk about a sleepy town! We had a beautiful rental unit with a full kitchen so we decided takeout made sense. After surveying the scene, it was either this, or Asian food which neither of my picky kids will eat. The pizza was pretty good overall and the food was ready on time as indicated by the friendly staff. The gluten free pizza crust was above average for sure, it certainly wasn't a common one like Udis crust or something I've had a million times before. It was crispy, but that's par for the course with gluten free crust. The sauce was a bit tangy, almost spicy, which I really appreciated. Plus they used ample sauce which is great, as so many places don't use enough sauce. The cheese was also high quality and a blend of 3. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is the Margherita pizza that we ordered. The fresh mozzarella was just ok, and the overall setup seemed like a Margherita you'd get at a mall pizza place. Pasty sauce and little cheese coverage, with minimal basil coverage. It was not good. However this is really good pizza overall (except for the Margherita) so give it a shot when in Friday Harbour. read more

Went to this restaurant with my family based on the positive rating, but was really not impressed. Service was slow and waitress was inattentive. Went through most of my meal without a drink as my refill took a long time to arrive, after many gestures to make the request and two more reminders after that. It was almost like the waitress was intentionally not looking our way throughout this entire time. As to food, the salad was OK, but the pizza did not impress us - sauce and topping ingredients were ordinary, and dough was sub par. We didn't even finish half of what we ordered, and chose not to take a box. Needless to say, I won't eat here again. read more

On vacation with the family and the family decided on pizza. We were a little skeptical when we walked up but were reassured when we walked in and saw how nice it was. The outdoor seating was great. We ended up getting a canadian bacon & pineapple as well as a pesto & feta pizza. Both were delicious. Crust was very good. Service wasn't too speedy but we weren't in a hurry. Toppings were decent, but the crust was MEH. Tasted like pre-formed frozen pizza crust. I like a crust made from freshly risen dough with a nice chewy texture to it. Big air bubbles? You bet. This crust? Flat. No character at all. Seriously, reminded me of the crust you get on a lot of frozen pizzas. Sigh. One of these days we'll get a good pizza place here on the island? This is a great little place. Service is very friendly and helpful, with delicious pizza options, and fresh green salads. The back courtyard seating is perfect and even has a little playhouse for the kids. May even get back to this place again before leaving the island. read more

Nothing really to write home about, though it had good service and I have very few complaints. We had the margarita pizza and the prima pizza. They were great but I'm not raving on any level. I don't even know what to write because I didn't find it overly delicious, but it was satisfying. My only complaint would be they the service was a little slow. Really good thin crust pizza cooked in a large skillet (perhaps cast iron). Obviously a favorite place for the locals to get their pies.

The pizza was very tasty. We enjoyed the crunchy crusts. Our two families had cheese pizza (kids were happy), Italian sausage (just a bit spicy!), and Pear Prosciutto. As an extra bonus, the back garden had the gnome house mentioned in other reviews with books the kids enjoyed reading. We'd gladly eat here again. read more
