The staff was so kind to us in such a tough moment. Within 2 weeks we got his ashes back and we were surprised with how he was returned to us. They gave us a beautiful wooden box with his name engraved on it, along with a molding of his paw, a certificate, and some flowers to plant in his memory. I been taking my dog here for years regarding ear infections and he never gets better after paying a couple hundred each visit. It's good for a week or two and then the infection comes back. I finally found a place that cleaned out his ears for less than $100 and it's been over a month and for the first time he hasn't had ear infections. Been taking my dog here since she was a couple months old and still take her here she's six years old now. Every other vet over chargers outrages prices and never fix the issues. My dog was limping and we couldn't get an appointment til next week we wanted to wait but it kept getting worse. This veterinary clinic has by far exceeded our expectations beyond measure. We initially saw them for our new German Shepherd puppy's vaccinations. She has ALOT of energy and the gentle nurses and staff were not intimidated by her at all! Instead her nurse carried our big baby to comfort her and take her in. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM! Quick and easy! On a second occasion, we unfortunately had to take in our other 13 year old dog to be euthanized due to a condition which was incurable at her age, and again the staff and doctor were so sympathetic, patient, and caring. We were given our own time to say goodbye and the option of staying with her in her final moments. Everyone was so loving and expressed their sympathies to us. When we were leaving, I noticed one of the nurses carry out our deceased doggy in a blanket in his arms, caressing her head and little nose as his final goodbye to her. Fast forward to a couple of weeks later, and we receive a sympathy card signed by the staff!! This small but immense gesture captured our hearts. Any negative review is someone who has no idea what they're talking about, this place is great Dr. Oh is awesome, this guy genuinely cares about your pet and you can tell he's thinking of what is best and remembers you. He genuinely cares about your pet and you will never have to worry about ridiculously expensive and overpriced estimates/bills. We have been going to Dr Oh for 9 months. I have been taking my dog to Dr. Oh, shortly after he opened his office. I knew him from an office where he previously worked. I was so happy to see him in his own office. Dr. Oh and his staff give me the confidence that they are giving my dog the best care possible. Two years ago, Dr. Oh recommend a low cost supplement to address a liver problem that my dog had; the supplement he recommended has reduced her "numbers" within a nearly normal range. Dr. Oh and every staff member I have met in his office or spoken to over the phone, has been kind and understanding of my care for my dog. Dr. Oh is very gentle with my cats, his fees are reasonable and he seems to genuinely care about animals. His clinic is new and very busy every time I'm there. Only one thing that I didn't like was that the sweet receptionist has a soft voice and with a mask on, it was hard to understand her over the crowded waiting room and I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. My corgi puppy has been feeling sick and had some bad symptoms, they were able to get me an appointment the same day... I was so concerned and anxious for my pup, but Dr.Oh took the time to explain everything in detail, and went over all of my questions/concerns. Took my Frenchie here after I thought he had hurt his leg/hip. They get a little busy and their calm attitude can come across as non-chalant but they quickly found out that Chapo had a pinched nerve and provided solutions. He was feeling much better within 24 hours and walking normally again. They also have some special laser treatment which they use to increase blood flow or something. I can't remember exactly what they said it's for but it seems to be working. I will continue to bring my son here. read more

So happy with their services and staff. Love the doc, you can tell he's caring and very good at what he does. Really fast wait time from the time we arrived to the time of diagnosis. He had a big bump/benign tumor on her leg and they were able to do same day surgery and she is doing so well! They exceeded all of my expectations. I wish all vets were like this one but I'm so thankful I found them! I had called at least 10 others (that friends recommended) before I found this clinic and no one would see us because we weren't current patients! Although I had an appointment, we ended up waiting for almost 50 minutes just for one vaccine. Since my dog is a large breed, we had to wait outside. He already hates going the vet and this just made matters worse. My dog was extremely nervous, so we asked how much longer the wait would be. We were told an additional five minutes. I went to this vet for a dog I found on the street because I was getting her into a rescue. She was full of tics and matted when I found her. When I took her there she had 3 tic baths and was shaved. They weighed her, looked at her he asked if she was on anything for tics I said yes. He listened to her heart and said she doesn't have heart problems. I showed him the picture of her how I found her. He said she had a skin infection otherwise she's healthy. Her sores were from tic bites she needed to checked out more thoroughly I thought. He didn't even check her ears. Sent me out with a antibiotic. He's not a through vet. I will never return. He should have paid attention to what I told him. read more

Best veterinary clinic I have taken my dog to. Everyone was super accommodating of us. We had an emergency and let them know we would be late to our appointment, they still took us in the same day even after us being 2 hours late. My husband and I were very appreciative we didn't have to reschedule our dog's appointment. Then, our appointment was amazing! Doctor Oh is super professional, caring, friendly and honest. Instead of trying to upsell products and services like other places do, he really cares for your pets and recommends what's best for them. We got quoted by another clinic previously that our dog had to get 4 teeth extracted, so we went to see doctor Oh today for a second opinion. And instead of 4, only 1 extraction is recommended at this time! That made us very happy and gave us more piece of mind to go through with the procedure for our baby. The prices at the Van Nuys Veterinary Clinic are also super affordable compared to other places in the Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys area. Less than half the price for exams and dental procedures compared to the place we used to go before. Update: Changes have been made to better address and care for their clients regarding covid. Really appreciate the changes they've made. Chairs have been removed. Now, after checking in, they ask you to wait outside and call you in when they can see you. Personally, I think that works wonders while still allowing us to come in with our pet. Thank you to Dr. Oh and everyone! Also, still really appreciate the genuine care they've showed not just for me but for my dog. She's a super sensitive Shiba and at times I feel awkward with how much I ask questions to figure things out. But I appreciate everyone's patience and care. Original review: Dr. Oh is great. So far, he's been the most fair of all the Vets I've taken my dog to the past 2 months while trying to find the right vet. His assessments and delivery are fair. He doesn't try to up sell you but does give options on how to go about things. The main thing I'd like to see more of is for someone to check my dog's temperature, ears, eyes and other things more during the physical without me having to ask cuz sometimes we may forget one or two things to ask for. If I was purely reviewing based on Dr. Oh alone, I'd give a 4. He's always great with my dog and seems to genuinely c The Waiting Room: The waiting room and process needs some work. It's very slow, and people don't seem to pay attention or try to check you in when you get there. You have to be very intentional to get their attention so you can check in. The first two times I was there, I got there 15mins early before my appointment and waited an hour to be seen. I was finally seen after asking 3x how long the wait is. Another thing I've noticed is when receiving medication after the appointment, they're not very thorough in giving instructions on how to give medication nor at letting me know possible side effects. I do think this can be harmful since it should not be the pet parent's responsibility to have all the questions ready especially if it's been a rough day. We should be told about the possible side effects and when we should or should not be concerned. Sometimes it gets a little busy in the waiting room. And when it does, it can get a little dirty. It seems like a lot of people really appreciate Dr. Oh, and he might need a little more help when it gets busy. Regarding Covid: I start to feel uncomfortable with how close the chairs are from each other, especially when it's busy. I don't think it's 6ft apart. Feels more like 3-4ft apart. Some of the people working in the waiting room are also not properly wearing their mask. One would pull it down to talk and the mask didn't cover their nose. The waiting room needs more cleaning and sanitizing for it to look and feel safe. But the patient rooms look and feel much better. Phone calls: Phone calls seem to be pretty slow as well. I've called a few times and sometimes I'm able to get through but most times I end up waiting on hold for about 10mins. Like I said, I think that goes back to the clinic needing more help when it gets busy. The good thing is, when I've called, I usually get real answers as well. Overall, yes, I would keep going to this vet and as long as it keeps feels like we're getting treated fairly and they actually care about my dog, not just the money (which right now it does seem like they do ) we're going to keep coming back. My 16 yo cat needed to be euthanized after a rapid decline in her quality of life. I was panicked after calling my usual 2 vets who weren't able to see me right away ( or even anytime soon) . This clinic told me I could come in within the half hour. The waiting area was clean and the front desk staff was friendly. They were kind and caring and didn't rush me while I stayed and grieved my kitty. The little detail that made the biggest impression was the sympathy card I received the next week. I have to tell you. I would be lost without this place. LOST. Like a millennial without google maps: I adopted a frenchie from a west la shelter last year (like a unicorn found in the swamp-yes) and he's come with all the issues most Frenchies have and THEN some. He's super active and super into everything-(but he cute nonetheless). Which means I'm at the vet every two weeks (no joke-can't make this up) and Dr. Oh and his staff are incredible to us. MARIANNA is SO caring and kind and thoughtful (she deserves the world and is such an asset to this place!!) and Doc OH is just the *kindest* human being on the planet and you can tell he cares so much for what he does (not to mention a PHENOMENAL vet!) and that makes you want to bring your animal again and again-because kindness above all else is the most relevant. They have NEVER skipped a beat with me and my little dude Nash and at this point they're family (I'm like the unwanted aunt but I'll take jt) and they treat you like it doesn't matter who or what you are-they just want to help you and your furry friend. They are truly the best support system with an animal with all the issues (*note-mine has them ALL-surgeries, allergies, muscle tears, weird rare diseases, GI issues etc) I am so incredibly blessed to have come across them and I am indebted to them for their services and compassion towards my little dude and ME as his anxiety ridden mom (they can only better the service by intravenously strapping a wine funnel to me while I'm there-maybe I'm on to something here...). You guys deserve gold stars and to note-they have been incredible during the pandemic and the riots still! How do they do it? They all wear capes that's how. Super humans. Super staff. Visit - Dr. O attended to my pet and spoke too fast didn't seem to be listening as he asked me questions about my dog I had already mentioned. He asked very basic questions and barely looked at him. He told me xrays and blood work were needed and offered no relief for his current state of being or my concerns. He suddenly left not properly ending the conversation but In a im going to get something f manner and just never came back. I was then greeting by a staff member with a bill if I wished to move forward. Ugh.. waste of time. Advice: if your discounting the consultation visit you up sell service to retain client. read more

I took my 10 year old dog here twice. First time was for a a physical + teeth cleaning under anesthesia (they did an great job at a good price). The second time was for his itchy paws. Both times I felt that Dr. Oh was rushing through the examinations. He basically just measured his heart beat and poked him around. He only looked at his ears and paws when I mentioned it. I just didn't feel like he was listening to my concerns. I would suggest this place for teeth cleaning (came out to be $480), but if you are looking for a thorough physical examination I would not recommend this place -- even with the first free examination. I called ahead to get price to compare because with covid we have a very limited budget, they charged $120 extra for communal on top of euthanasia fees (if I would've known I would've taken him to the vet on Oxnard Blvd who charges 365 and would've given us his ashes back. WORST CLINIC IN TOWN!! First, I had to wait for more than 20-30 minutes after appointment time. The nurses do not meet the basic standard service and only apologized after I made a fuss about the wait time. Doctor seems annoyed and very disinterested in providing specific instructions. No common sense of giving detailed explanation. Doesn't check up the dog in detail during the annual checkup and had to ask the nurse to check other parts outside the waiting room. Extremely clean, well priced, great option for those who dont want to splurge on a "fancy" vet. Its in a strip mall next to a donut shop and there is no where to actually sit in the waiting room, but all of those lost luxuries are what make this such a fairly priced wonderful service.
