We tried Vangeli's for the first time tonight. Delicious! I was a little bummed that they didn't have a soup of the day as the menu stated because it was cold outside, but the salad was very good! The scallops were perfectly cooked and the flavor was awesome. Both of our steaks came out a little over cooked, but the flavor made up for it and we just ate them as-is. I'm still giving them the full 5 stars because it was just an all-around great dining experience. They take your temp when you arrive and have you wear masks when you aren't seated, the wine and cocktails were great, and the service was the perfect blend of allowing us a nice evening out and making sure we had everything we needed. Wow this was good.!!!! Hole in the wall, darker, quiet, maybe looks closed......don't walk away.! We ate lunch. New York strip burgers and homemade chips. Awesome. Reasonable for lunch. Around 13-15 out the door and you're happy. Dinner is exceptional. Please try it out.!! read more

My best friend came down to celebrate my birthday and we had dinner here. The food was delicious and great portions. We ordered a bottle of champagne and I asked what the price was before we said yes but when the bill came it was a lot more then stated by the bartender. I didn't want to make a fuss about it since it was a celebration. My advice is to make sure your staff know the pricing. I would definitely dine there again it will make sure I see all pricing before hand. read more

Yum, yum and yum! Visiting family in Seneca we dined at this place per their advise. Everything we had was delicious! My bro and I had shrimp and grits, pure deliciousness! We have had lunch here twice in the past 4 days. Vangelis on Ram Cat Aly has NO competition in Seneca: Wonderfully prepared, fresh, beautifully presented food at a very fair price. The restaurant is quaint and comfortable and the "family" is so welcoming. I can't say enough good things about this place! We ate here last night and I enjoyed the halibut while my husband had surf & turf. Our dinners were divine, but what I haven't read in the reviews yet is how amazing dessert is! I got the triple chocolate mousse cake and I do believe it was the best dessert I've ever had. A perfect balance of flavor and texture. My husband had the sweet potato maple cheesecake and loved it. If you aren't up for dining in, you can order to go, and they even serve great appetizers at Brews a few doors down-I highly recommend the pork tacos and goat cheese jalapeño poppers. Quaint little restaurant with amazing food! The service was wonderful. Reservations are recommended because of how small it is inside. There are probably 10-12 tables for 4. We went for lunch on Sunday which was more of a brunch menu. We had fresh fruit, French press coffee, a filet mignon. The flavoring was top notch, presentation of food was awesome! read more

Had a delicious dinner here on a Friday night. Definitely make a reservation as the restaurant is small (cozy) and was full (looking forward to their expansion which will give a little more elbow room between tables). The chef came out to greet us and was happy to accommodate a shellfish allergy by separating the crab cakes from the green tomatoes in one of the apps. Fresh bread slices and house salads were very good and just the right size. We had swordfish with risotto and steak/cajun shrimp combo. Both were excellent. Best swordfish I have ever had and perfect risotto. We shared the chocolate mousse cake dessert which was delish. The wine list was very good with lots of affordable choices. Service was excellent and friendly. The food comes out at a leisurely pace which I enjoy on a relaxed Friday night. This is a gem in the Upstate. We will be back! read more

Wow, what a pleasant surprise. The server was fantastic - knowledgeable about the food, accommodating to our preferences, and genuinely excited and passionate about the food. The menu had so many entrees that sounded amazing, it was tough to choose. The server made two recommendations and both my wife's and mine were amazing. And then dessert! We came here after a very heartbreaking football game at Clemson University. We were upset and needed a great meal. This place fit the bill! We ordered 3 different entrees. Had dinner here on a weeknight. It was an early seating time so the place was not too busy. The food was of excellent quality and taste. The presentation was also first class. The sever was friendly and not overly intrusive but available as needed. I noticed that efforts had been made to dampen the ambient noise in the building since my first visit a few months ago. They were very accommodating at Vangelis to fit me and a companion in the restaurant a few Sundays ago sans reservations... I was so impressed with the ingredients used in their food. Yes, the menu is not huge but everything that they offer is wonderful! I ordered the panini and a side of cheesy grits with either ham or bacon. The grits were phenomenal! As a person who grew up in the south, I swear that they tasted how they should -- however, a lot better than most... Vangelis does not try to "church it up" and serve you polenta -- these grits are real grits... My brunch companion ordered a fresh fruit filled crepe as her side. As with my side of grits, it too was delicious. Even the coffee at this restaurant comes with its own French press and turbinado sugar on the side! Other than wonderful food and a congenial staff, the restaurant was well ventilated, reasonably priced, and the bathroom was clean and attractive.
