On July 8, 2023. I sent the request through Yelp to get bids on replacing a toilet with a brand-new dual-flush toilet. VanGo router was one of the first to respond. We had a misunderstanding about when they would arrive at my home to provide an estimate, and I was left waiting, but it was resolved rather quickly. The technician that arrived was a young man who appeared inexperienced in doing estimates. I had already received several estimates from other plumbing companies, which were very complete. Initially, his estimate was reasonable. Then I asked him how much he would charge me for picking up the toilet from the hardware store. His response was $200, and informed me that that would be an hour's work. Several other companies had given me an estimate of $45-$50 to pick up the toilet from the store. I also know from experience it doesn't take an hour to pick up a part from the store. This put his bid above every other estimate. It was very obvious to me, judging by his body language and response, he needed training in providing a work estimate. I called same day and they were able to dispatch someone to check out our clog within 90 minutes. No charge for the visit and assessment. Quoted $175 for a snake drain. Ultimately did not make the choice to work with them, but with their reliability, ability to respond very rapidly, great communication and value, would definitely work with them in the future if the circumstances are right. We had an emergency... shower backing up and the bathroom was flooded. Thinking maybe it was a clog somewhere and seeing as how it was Saturday I called vango and they sent someone out Saturday night. Without trying to assess the problem first, he snaked the clean out. That didnt do anything so he snaked the shower drain. That didn't do anything so he stated we had to hydrojet it and he left. At least he didn't charge us. But it was a waste of time. And I have since talked to two more plumbers who were confused as to why he tried to fix it this way. He didn't send a camera in or try anything else. I don't recommend them at all. read more

VanGo Rooter did some pipe repairs for me. They have great customer service & were quick to respond. They recommended a new copper valve & repaired two separate leaks to my water main. The problem is that I had 2 additional leaks & needed some concrete removed & they charge ~$125/hour so I got someone else to repair the other leaks. The company is new to the area so they do actually price match if you receive lower quotes, which was nice. They originally did try to up sell & quote high, but in the end, will work with you on the price. Staff is knowledgeable & friendly over all. First, the good. Darrell is here right now and he is professional and courteous. He identified the leak problem in one of our bathrooms within 5 minutes. Now, the bad. I don't know how these plumbing companies get so many good reviews on Yelp, except that people are willing to pay $$$ more than they should. Or, maybe they are 1st time home owners and don't know any better. I first contacted them through Yelp and they got back to me immediately to set up an appointment. Day of appointment - No show. I message them and they immediately start calling and messaging me. I couldn't do the appointment at the times they wanted later that day and let them know it. We set up another appointment. Second appointment - I get a call an hour before the end of the window when were supposed to show. Their pipe camera was broken and they asked to reschedule. I explained that this was a huge pain and ate up another day of waiting around. No apology, no offer in price reduction, nothing. Third day.(same window 9 am- 11 am) I get a call at 10:24 letting me know that the camera is not ready and they won't be here til the afternoon. Door bell rings at 2:25 and Darrell is here. He identifies the first problem. Needs two new faucets, supply lines and angle stops. $815 is the estimate WITHOUT parts, which I would need to buy myself at Lowes. Then, he takes a look at our second bathroom. The quote I get to have a camera down the pipe is $325. That is just the cost of running the camera. I didn't even ask for an estimate on the rest of the work that would be needed for that bathroom. The big picture- If you have only one bathroom and/or an emergency, any plumbing company is going to rake you for $$$. We have 3 bathrooms, so we are not in that situation. This company is no different than any of the other big plumbers in the area (meaning that they charge too much) except that they respond to your Yelp message immediately. Now, I understand that everybody needs to make a living and I don't fault them for that. However, that doesn't mean that I have to overpay either. And to be fair, Darrell did contact "the boss" after I complained and he agreed to lower the price to $593 from $815. No thanks. My next step is to call my buddy who "knows a guy". He does quality work at a fair price, but on his own time-line. If I could hire Darrell as a side job then I would, but I am not going to pay that much for the installation of two new faucets. My advice to Darrell is to leave VanGo and start doing jobs for a fair price. I know I would hire him! read more

This was our second time calling VanGo Rooter. Steven came out the first time and replaced our water heater and was awesome. I called the company on this Labor Day weekend after a toilet flooded the bathroom and no amount of plunging helped. I tried 3 times and no response. So, I called Steven as we had his card. My experience with VanGo Rooter couldn't have been worse! VanGo needs to take responsibility and train their plumbers before sending them on a job. I called to have our water softener removed -a easy routine request. You take out the unit contact the main, weld, done. The guy was polite gave me the quote and said it would take an hour. Well Conrad didn't know you needed to contact the pipes and capped them individually. 8 hours later it's 10pm (I called VanGo at 8pm telling them I was concerned Conrad didn't know what he was doing and requested they send help. They reassured me he had 7 years experience and did nothing!) there is a huge hole in the wall, he is cutting pipes, the fire alarms are going off, water is leaking everywhere! He suddenly runs out of the house and drives away. Leaving a mess, his tools, doesn't say bye and leaves a FAMILY OF 4 WITH NO WATER IN A HEAT WAVE! Luckily I was able to find an other plumber to fix the damage. Vango did offer to try and fix it but after I'd asked for help when I had a bad feeling the night before I couldn't trust them again. Now we are waiting the wall to dry out so we can patch it. And my refund from my yelp voucher. Don't believe the 5 star reviews and make the same mistake I did. read more

My main line got clogged, and I couldn't use my shower or the toilet overflowed onto the floor. If I used the toilet, raw sewage filled my bathtub. My home warranty company felt it was acceptable for me to wait from December 23, the day I reported it, until January 2nd, the first available date to repair. **This is my only bathroom.** The clog happened right before Christmas so it was nearly impossible to get anyone at the warranty company to help me. Eventually, on Dec 28, I reached someone with a brain at the warranty company and was given outside authorization to use an emergency plumber. I did a Yelp search for 24 hr plumbers, found VanGo, and called. They answered right away, I explained my situation, and she apologized that it would be 3 hours before she could get a tech to my house. I couldn't believe my ears! My pipe in my house was clogged, couldn't get anything to go down, the toilets were about to overflow my bathtub was backing up with the not so good stuff from the toilet. I called van go rooter after working with another Co. (who couldn't resolve the issue). Eddie came to the house and did a hydrojet to flush the pipe and right away I was able to flush and things started draining. He even went a step further to take a camera down the pipe to find out what the problem was and we found it, it was a root from a tree that had been removed. We marked the spot to have it replaced. This afternoon all my drains became clogged with sludge backing up in my tub and shower. My daughter called VanGo Rooter and within a couple of hours two young men arrived and cleared the drain. They were courteous and helpful. Unfortunately due to a broken connector to the sewer pipe (mobile park's responsibility) the problem arose again the same afternoon. I put in a call to VanGo's office and within an hour one of the young men was back fixing the problem until the park manager could have the connector replaced.
