Came here for a quick hang out with one of my girls from high school and we had such a nice time. They let us sit there and yap for 2 hours over matcha. It was also ALL PINK and it was SO CUTE. What a cute little concept! This review is only for the cafe portion. I've passed by Vanity House a few times but never noticed it until they were giving out lemonade samples outside one day. I liked the lemonade, so I came back for a matcha latte today. I'm a simple matcha and oat milk kinda girl and had not done syrups or flavors... until today. Shout out to Nelly, the barista, who put me on! She was so kind to offer a taste of a creme brûlée almond milk matcha latte she had prepared for another client. I was pleasantly surprised. Nelly mentioned this combo is a top seller. I ended up being lured into a pumpkin pie flavored oat matcha (bc fall vibes!) when a repeat customer-- who also mentioned she didn't do flavors, raved about it. I loved it! It wasn't sweet--just a nice little oomph with a side of festive. While I don't know that I'm ready to fully divorce my go to basic matcha, I am so glad I dipped a toe at Vanity House. A fantastic first time experience. Ps I also had a pastry (croissant type) but didn't care for it as much. It was pretty and warmed up, but the texture didn't feel as fresh for me. I went on Sunday morning this is my second time coming to the location. Aesthetically it's great, service was great and I love the cafe drinks. If you're only doing your nails yes I'd say go to experience it. However, pricing could range from average to on the higher side depending on the service. I would not do a pedicure again as It only consists of the nail care. No other part of the foot was touched or treated. The pedicure station is also set up in a way where it's kind of uncomfortable for both the tech and the patron. The board kept slipping off the tub etc it just wasn't very functional for the service. They also have other services like massage and sauna option and they host events in this location which I feel is great for the community. All and all a good spot but I wouldn't frequent for the nail salon service. read more

I was looking for a nice quiet clean black owned nail salon. I went to this salon on Tuesday, even though they had only one star review. First it's not easy, the parking is terrible. I walked In and it was only one tech and one person, She asked me what did I want, I told her gel manicure and regular pedicure. She said she was booked up. The place was empty, so I said ok you must be expecting a bus load of people because it's empty in her. She didn't apologize and say would you like to reschedule, nothing. I felt disgusted, I see why they have only one star. Poor, very poor. I am giving one star because I am required to leave a review. I expected different especially from "my own ". read more

Extremely unprofessional and disheartening experience at Vanity House. Sandra who answered the phone was rude, dismissive, and handled the situation in the worst way possible--by hanging up the phone. The salon then falsely claimed that I wanted to cancel my previous appointment, which I never said, in turn costing me to pay the entire fee having received no service. That kind of dishonesty is unacceptable and disgusting. They also completely messed up my friend's appointment and showed no interest in fixing their own mistake. Sophia of the Brooklyn location then attempted to be helpful, but Sandra contradicted her and even suggested that Sophia may not actually be a manager, which speaks volumes about the lack of organization and leadership here. Poor communication, zero accountability, and outright disrespect toward customers. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that values professionalism. read more

This place was an absolute nightmare. From the moment I booked to the moment I left, it was one problem after another. My appointment wasn't even booked correctly because the woman never asked me to specify what I wanted -- a basic part of her job. Because of that mistake, I had to come back a second time, and somehow I was made to feel like it was my fault, like I was the dumb one. Completely unprofessional. On top of that, I was actually insulted while sitting in the chair by the nail tech. Out of nowhere, she commented that I sound like an adult cartoon character who is clearly voiced by a man. (Lola, for anyone wondering) I am very much a woman, so why would anyone even say something like that to a client? It was beyond rude and added to the already overwhelming level of unprofessionalism.The whole place gives off a "mean girls" vibe -- fake, unwelcoming, and condescending. It's all a facade: the idea looks cute, but the business itself is horribly run. The pricing is just as shady. There are no prices listed on their terrible website, and when I asked in person, no one could give me a straight answer. After the service, the price was nothing like what I was told it might be. I do get my nails done from time to time, so I'm not clueless about normal price points or how things should work -- this was way off. Yes, they can do nails, but that's literally all they have going for them. They clearly have no idea how to run a good, welcoming business, let alone treat customers with respect. I came in hoping for a fun, relaxing "me time" experience and left feeling insulted, ripped off, and completely disappointed. Don't waste your time or money -- this place is nothing more than a cute facade hiding bad attitudes and bad business practices. read more

Wow, my goddaughter and I had such a glamorous visit to Vanity House! The girls treated us like princesses. Shout out to Nellie for her sweet demeanor and expert hostessing. I had a blast getting my beautiful mani from Shanelly, who was so friendly and easygoing. And Star was wonderful helping my goddaughter feel relaxed and pampered. 10/10 - wish we could visit every month, but the commute from CA is a tad long. Next NYC trip! read more

Vanity House NYC just opened on my block, and today, I went in for a gel manicure. The salon is beautiful and clean, and the staff is very friendly. They were also playing great soothing music, perfect for a morning appointment. My nail professional, Sharon, is amazing. She cleaned up my less-than-perfect nails, and I could tell she was genuinely skilled. I plan on coming back. They also have a coffee bar. This place is like a ray of sunshine. It's nice to have such a beautiful place on the block. read more
