Great service, professional staff and nice, clean, relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices. Ask for their tally card to get credit for services - after 10 visits then (1) manicure is free. Since I've been going I've never had to wait & I go at various times & days of the week. One or two of the ladies are a little chatty amongst themselves- not much but enough for me to mention it, especially when it's a foreign language. *CW BLOOD* I've never left a bad review in my life but don't want others to experience the treatment I did. I went in to receive a new gel French tip set. After having my cuticles ripped off aggressively over and over, 4 of my nail beds were bleeding which was completely ignored by the tech. (Note: I was visibly in pain and even remarked twice that it was a hurting me) I know some bleeding can be normal when removing cuticles but this was excessive and something I've never experienced while getting a manicure. After at least 5 min of bleeding she proceeded to smear the blood around with a buffer sponge and then attempted to PAINT OVER the blood, I asked nicely to have a paper towel to clean it to which she rolled her eyes, dabbed it with ALCOHOL and continued. Additionally, the gel wasn't even applied properly and left a large gap between my nail beds and the tip (pictured) Now, one day later it looks as if I received the service more than a week ago, and I have multiple painful scabs from the cuticle situation. As a busy student who rarely treats myself at such a high price point I left almost in tears feeling so disappointed and sad about this experience. read more

I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, and it was a terrible mistake. The technicians were super sloppy and rough, I wanted to run out of the place mid session. Not only did the technician remove my gel manicure, she filed away most of my nails even though I asked her to be careful. I'm suffering from pain right now, because my nails are paper thin. I would give 0 if I could, they made up their own prices and did a terrible job. I asked to soak off hard gel that I had on my nails she drilled off so many layers of my natural nails and still managed to leave some behind. I asked for a manicure to clean up my nails and she sprayed my hands with a spray bottle and clipped my nails and did a rough clip of cuticles. Another lady was there getting a manicure and I could see her soaking her fingers and receive a normal manicure. I asked my nail tech if they offer different types of manicures and she said no, which of course left me confused. She didn't even clean my nails from removing my hard gel. She didn't ask for me to wash my hands or anything, so any residue from the soak off would still be left behind. She had me get up to pay right away as if I was going to run out without paying. They charged me 40 dollars which isn't a lot however I've gotten a soak off millions of times and have never paid over 15. Their pricing sign says 12 for gel and 15 for gel powder yet they charged me 20. When I questioned the difference I was met with a very combative tone. The young man trying to translate seemed flustered and the two women speaking to him were yelling. I definitely will not be returning and hope this helps others. My nails look terrible but I didn't feel like dealing with them anymore so I just left. read more

The woman doing my manicure had a large wart on her finger and made no effort to cover it up, instead repeatedly rubbing it all over my hands. The manicure itself was very low quality too--I noted that we needed another coat as the polish (a dark color) was sheer and uneven in parts and she said no 3 is enough. Also, the place is visibly dirty. I understand that people need to make money, but putting the public at risk between the wart and the dirt is inappropriate and morally questionable. She should be able to put her own interests aside and realize that her taking precautions to heal the wart before exposing the public to it is worth whatever money she may lose for the greater good of keeping others healthy and safe. read more

When I walked in the lady running the front desk was very sweet. I showed her the picture of what I wanted. She said "depends on the technian" but we will see what we can do. Offered me a seat as I had to wait about 5-10min to be seen, but I was a walk-in. When "next in line" was ready I took it and showed the picture to the technician to ensure I was getting someone who could try/do it. I wanted a gel, french, manicure with 2 fingers of design. I took a chance as they are not a nail art salon. Nail experience: Certianly not great art, and I could of done it myself after the fact but I did take a chance. In short, do not come here for designs. I understand it is the end of the night but she left gel on my finger which I didn't notice till I was home. The lady doing my nails was sweet. I was very impressed with her cuticle cutting as she was ensuring they were wet enough and trimming according. No nicks which I appreciated. The paint job is eh but there are a couple air bubble in the tip part but I do not expect anyone to examine my fingers that closely. Items are UV autoclaved. Atmosphere: In general the place was fine, quiet, open space, and not too crowded. They had the standard pedi basins, a drying station, etc. I was there at the end of the day. Came in around 6:30pm, they close at 8pm. In total I paid $57, without tip, which I think was actually discounted as it seemed the technician didn't know the proper pricing herself so it may of been more. Understand, gels around this area are now between $40-$50 as base. Prices will vary based on neighborhood. I will updated on how long they last. Will for be back though to try a pedicure, as I am on the hunt for a local place and this is close. Maybe just a french manicure next time, stay simple here. read more

This place used to be really well run, clean, and have great service. They must have gotten new management because it's really really awful now. The salon is disgusting. Trash and dirt all over the floor. It can't be sanitary. I didn't notice until I had been seated for awhile. The nail person I had today would not listen and cut my nails so short she was filing my skin (after I expressly told her not super short). Then she laughed. I walked out. I got a dip powder manicure and a milk and honey pedicure from Amy. I love how my nails look and it was my first time trying a dip powder. I wanted to see a professional do it before trying on myself at home. The pedicure wasn't anything to rave about but my toes look nice. I didn't watch for how they store the tools they use as I've gone to a lot of salons that use a fresh set of tools. The salon seemed very clean to me and I received a pedicure, a manicure and a 10 minute massage within 45 minutes. Well, I tried to redeem it and got shot down. Once, since I wanted a pedicure as well, was told to hold onto it and redeem it for manicure on separate visit. Finally i tried to use it but was told "new management" so they would not honor the card but gave me a new card to redeem after another 10 visits. WTF?! Worst management ever. Truly disappointed by the quality of the work here. I've had many gel manicures in Manhattan and it's an expensive practice, but I would expect a minimum level of quality if you are going to charge the same price as other places. I got a gel manicure that was lumpy, uneven, and chipped within days (for context, these should last weeks at least). The staff was not welcoming and actually kept trying to separate my friend and me after we made a booking together to enjoy the experience together. The manicure itself had many issues. The layering of the nail polish was uneven and even shaping my nails properly seemed to irritate my manicurist. I asked her to fix one nail and she proceeded to just paint over a lumpy nail. You shouldn't charge $78 and hover over the customer expecting a large tip if the quality of your work and hospitality are so below par. Very dissatisfied. read more

Well today I was in need of a mani and didn't want to go to where I go now because I was pressed for time. I was disappointed in the service. The person I had did it do a good job at all. Decent. Clean, prices are reasonable, and the employees are nice! I never had to wait too long despite just walking in. The shoulder massage in the end is also nice. I went to get a gel mani pedi and it was just okay. The woman spent a long time on my nails which I appreciated but once I left I realized the mani had a few gaps and it chipped within two days. I had a great first experience with this salon! They are requiring masks for clients, all technicians had masks & gloves on, and there are plexiglas dividers for manicures, which is wonderful. The whole place was very clean with plenty of distance between clients. I usually don't do spa pedicures but it came with a 10 minute foot/leg massage and was well worth it! If I'm correct, a regular pedicure is $27.50 and a spa pedicure is $45. They also have a stamp card! Happy to have this in the neighborhood! Will return. read more

​I've been going to Lilac Nails for years, so it pains me to write this review. This weekend, I went to Lilac for a gel manicure + gel removal and a regular pedicure. I arrived at​ the salon bright and early on Saturday and was surprised and pleased that there was no wait. I was directed to pick my color and then headed to the pedicure chair. The service was good, and I was disappointed when I saw that another person would be doing my manicure. This is where it goes downhill. While getting a pedicure, they had applied acetone to remove the gel polish from an old manicure. But even after having the acetone on my nails for nearly the entire duration of the pedicure, they still had to scrape my nails to get the polish off. When we got to polish part, things get ridiculous. It looks as if they dilute all of their polishes because my gel manicure is lumpy, and some of the polish looks transparent -it's the same issue with my pedicure! Two days later and the gel polish has begun to chip and come off. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

And I then stopped by the salon to show a picture of what I wanted to get done, and the manicurist said she would be able to do it (or try).
