That wouldn't have been that much of a problem, even though it was sudden, except that I'd been asking him for a contract proposal for a week and he'd kept telling me he'd get to it but didn't. I finally told him that he couldn't come the next day (it was after 6pm by this point) because I still hadn't seen a proposal and wanted a chance to look it over before they started and wouldn't have a chance to do that due to his delays. All of a sudden, he texted me that I'd have to find another contractor because I was too difficult to work with. Because I'd asked for a contract for a $5000 project, to protect both of us, and wanted more than 12-14 hrs to read it over. I'm ultimately glad he showed his colors early, I have no confidence at all that he wouldn't have just stolen my money and vanished. Extremely unprofessional and very shady. Research other contractors, this is not normal behavior.

I first engaged them in September 2025, and they came right out to give a bid. In contrast to other bids I received, Best Ways doesn't have a 'one-size-fits all" approach. The lead mason, Brandon, helped me understand my options and took the time to adjust the work and the bid to suit my preferences. The end price was quite reasonable, especially given the quality of their work. They didn't schedule my job for five months simply because they run just a few crews at a time. Quality over quantity. They could have shoehorned in my small job in between larger ones, and potentially done a low-quality job. Instead, they scheduled my job far out, but then showed up, on time. When they did get to my job, they did it efficiently and quickly. The job site was left neat at the end of each day. There were thoughtful touches, too, like neatly stacking old bricks. I cannot recommend Best Way Masonry & Repairs highly enough! This is a really solid company.

We used GM for both siding and exterior paint, at first they were extremely communicative, friendly, and the siding project itself seemed to go fine other than a few mishaps. With the siding, we loved how it looked but the work crew lacked professionalism. They left nails all over our yard, ripped bushes out of the ground on a carefully lined walkway, and pulled our front bushes down so aggressively they've never come back up and will have to be ripped out. The nails were a huge concern because we have a dog, and had we run one over with a mower that could have been dangerous for us as well. Months later we are still finding them. The contractors did compensate us for the bush they trampled. On to the paint. The painting contractors were awful from start to (never really) finished. They were unprofessional, left things in our trees and bushes, left garbage around our house and yard, trampled the bushes we had just replaced from the contractors (we weren't reimbursed this time), moved our fence post to a crooked location that we can't fix. Beyond that, we had a dark gray color with white trim, if you've ever painted over a dark color with white you know you have to have MANY coats to not have seep through of the darker color. For some reason, they painted all of it the dark color and then went over the trim with white, so in many areas you can see the bleed through of the gray. It looks tacky and like we DIY'd it. Additionally, we asked for the garage to be painted white and they painted it dark gray like the house.. when we asked them to fix it, they didn't open it to paint so as soon as we opened the garage it cracked on the bending panel and the insulation came out. I got in contact with the contractors right away and Kara said she would send someone out. She didn't, and that was now almost 3 months ago and they've completely ghosted us with a broken garage. They've also left their porta potty in front of our house this entire time (3 months and counting). Our neighbors across the street also hired them for siding and paint and they've also completely ghosted them for the paint. We initially would have recommended them but they ended up screwing us over so I'd go anywhere else.
