    Yummy fruit tart!
    Tiffany P.

I've gone to Van's Bakery for years, but this was my first time at this location! It's so much more spacious, cleaner, and friendlier.  My go-to is the Fruit Tart, a mainstay in my family for decades of celebrations. Flaky pastry crust. Not too sweet custard. Topped off with fresh fruit. Surrounded by a halo of whipped cream. It's the ultimate crowd pleaser. Definitely coming back for their durian ice cream cake!

This is my go to for Vans Bakery especially for their scrumptious Fruit tart. Bakery is really big & clean. My usual go to is the Fruit tart. Fruits are always so fresh here along w the pastry puff the tart is made of. It's so fluffy & not over powering w sweetness. The icing isn't overly sweet. Everyone's that has had this cake. Loves it instantly. Lady that does the writing for the cake is really kind. Love her penmanship for the cake greetings. Can request a note greeting on the cake. It's not far off the Harbor Blvd exit from the 22 freeway. A block away. They sell candles, macaron cookies, sometimes Eggrolls and other bakery goods. They provide complimentary plastic cake slider/server. It's like a basic Vietnamese bakery. Known for a very long time, Vans Bakery, have a lot of varieties of different cake & flavor. Lots of parking available. Come give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Trust mee

My favorite bakery growing up. All my birthday cakes came from here. They are all super friendly and all the other fun desserts they have are all super tasty. You won't be disappointed going here.

*Note: Trucks, cones, and sanrio were put on by me and not the bakery!! - This is one of my families to-go bakery. We've been going to this place for cakes (specifically pandan, strawberry, and fruit tarts) since I was a child. My grandma loves the pandan/coconut cake they sell! - I won't lie, the place is a bit dusty and a portion of the store isn't used (mostly used for storage). - The owners were always nice to us with our orders, although sometimes it's hard to communicate with the language barrier. As beautiful as their cakes are, sometimes they are old. There was a time, a few years ago, where we bought a fruit cake for my sister's graduation and it had moldy strawberries. However, that was the only time it came like that. Some of their pastries are a little hard depending on the time you get them (whether they were made recently or not). It's kind of a hit or miss bakery. I do like them when I have to get a cake for an occasion.

This place is not of the quality of the other family location on Brookhurst. The tart cakes (pies) here are still really good (8" -$38.00). I try to get the pate chaud often but they are usually cold and old, even when you ask if they were freshly made (she lies). Again, I drive over to Brookhurst now most of the time unfortunately. Idk if this location is just slow or the owner doesn't care.

Half sheet graduation cake that feed a ton of my family and friends. I love the bright colors on this cake.

I love this family owned bakery. Their strawberry cake is so moist and fluffy. It's not too sweet and the whip cream is light flavorful without being too over powering. We always get their cakes for birthday parties and celebrations. They do wedding cakes too! The store owner and his wife are so friendly and kind. They always greet us with a smile. I've also ordered their fruit tart cake and that too is a family favorite. They offer different Vietnamese desserts and their pricing is good and like I said the best is the taste of their cakes and desserts. If you need a good bakery or a place to try some Vietnamese desserts check them out.

I can never find good macaroons that aren't 5 or more dollars each. UNTIL i found Van's Bakery. They have such a wide variety of choices i felt overwhelmed haha. The lady was very quick to ask what I needed and quickly gave me the macaroons i asked for and even explained what some of the flavors were to the ones i didn't know. The whole bakery smelled nice and was very clean and every thing was easy to locate. Will be coming again to try a cake!

I recently ordered a customize 30 cake and it came out much better than I imagined. This cake can definitely feed more than 50+ people. The bakery has a wonderful array of cakes and baked goods to choose from or if you want to customize a cake the owners will execute your dream cake. The cake was light, fluffy and not overly sweet which is what our group prefers. We also got mini fruit tarts, cream puffs and pate chaud. All delicious ! Call now to get your cakes but make sure you give them a few days ahead prior to your event.

My family and I have been going to Vans bakery for as long as I can remember and for everyone birthday we have come here to get everyone's cake we have never gone to another bakery. ( We always choose mocha lol) They made my 7 piece cake for my Sweet 16, back in 2017. Tres Leches and Mocha. I love this bakery. Five stars.

My husband & I were having a Wedding Rehearsal dinner in Temecula. I really wanted the cake from Van's Bakery because all of my friends got their wedding cakes there as well. It transported from Garden Grove to Temecula so well! I was amazed how it remained fresh, despite hours of heavy traffic in 90 degree weather! The mocha cake was so yummy & more than enough to feed 30 people! Also, I loved the design! I wanted a vintage-inspired cake & it is exactly as I envisioned! Van's Bakery has become a little tradition among my group of friends & we cannot wait to come back to order more cakes for our milestone events!

Although we used to have Van's cake a lot of times before, this was my first time coming into this location, which was located closer to the corner of Harbor and Garden Grove. We went for a last-minute birthday cake and chose the flan and Vietnamese jello cake that looked very good. The cost was $35 and I thought it was a reasonable price, given the cake itself was enough for more than 8 people. Customer service was not exceptionally good, but was not too bad either. I thought they were just having a really long day at the time when we got in there haha. Parking was easy to find. We went around 5pm on a Sunday and the lot was half empty. They also have a lot of other things like ice-cream cakes, snacks, cookies, and pastries around the store if you have some times to shop around. I'll be back when we have a birthday party to try their durian cake and durian ice-cream cake!!!

How far in advance would you need an order? It would be a small cake, for about 15 people. Also, do you have a size/ pricing list? Thanks!…

I think one day for that size cake. I'm not sure but I've ordered cake bigger one day ahead and got them.

Big bite size strawberries, mango, kiwi, grapes, pineapple with a thin layer of sponge cake, layers of crunchy phyllo and whipped cream. The smallest cake is a 1/4 sheet which cost $45. With all the fruit on top, it made it challenging to slice nice looking dessert slices. Super yummy, I can understand why people are making reels about this place on social media. It's a winner. Friendly service, accommodating and responsive to our needs. We requested no kiwi due to one allergy to it and they make it within 10 minutes.

I think I just rekindled a long-lost relationship with this bakery…read more The last time I visited was probably a few years ago, and while I remember liking it well enough, I wasn't exactly blown away by the vegetarian and vegan options at the time. Fast forward to recently, and their Instagram marketing team deserves a raise because they absolutely got me. Every other scroll seemed to feature some gorgeous vegan pastry or savory item, and before I knew it, I was planning a visit solely based on cravings induced by social media. The pistachio croissant, pâté chaud, and sticky rice had been living rent-free in my head for weeks. Let me just say: this place exceeded the hype. The pâté chaud was the star of the show. I ordered both the regular version and the "beef" version. The vegan beef filling was tasty, but there wasn't a whole lot of it. The regular pâté chaud, on the other hand, was generously filled with vegan pork and mushrooms and was absolutely phenomenal. Flavorful, savory, and wrapped in the flakiest, butteriest pastry imaginable. One bite and I was immediately transported back to childhood. Pâté chaud was one of those treats my dad would always bring home for me growing up, so finding a vegetarian version felt like discovering buried treasure. Not to be dramatic, but I would happily eat a concerning number of these in one sitting. The xôi gà (sticky rice with seasoned vegan chicken) was another knockout. In my excitement, I started eating it immediately instead of waiting to warm it up first. Rookie mistake. By the time I realized my error, I had already inhaled most of it. After heating up the remaining portion, I finally understood what I had deprived myself of. The warm version was next-level delicious. If the room-temperature version was an A, the heated version graduated summa cum laude. I have been thinking about it ever since and am currently fighting the urge to drive back for more as I write this review. The girl working at the counter was also incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Needless to say, I will not be waiting another few years before returning. In fact, if you see someone sprinting toward the pastry case for vegan pâté chaud and sticky rice, there's a decent chance it's me.

Also a heads up, you have to spend at least $20 to be able to use a card, so bring cash! I tried their honeycomb cake (in a half moon shape, good for 3-4 servings) and their vegan pork pate chaud. Both of these items were good! They were also reasonably priced as I got both for ~$8-9. The honeycomb cake was slightly sweet and chewy. The vegan pastry was flaky despite being vegan! There was a good amount of filling, which consisted of the vegan pork and mushrooms. It was savory and had a good texture too. The only other thing I may ever come back for is their vegan fried chicken but the smallest amount you have to buy 1/2 lb which is $12
