This is a small Vietnamese-owned bakery that specializes in fruit cake. Basically, it is like 2 layers of sponge cake with a baked puff pastry in between, layered with a light cream and topped with fresh fruit. Pacific Bakery is located in the Bristol Food Court on Bristol and McFadden in the Northgate parking lot. Their cakes are baked fresh daily. They sell individual slices for $5 each, or you can get a 1/4 sheet cake for $40, which is a great deal for cakes nowadays. I've been here a few times and like to visit if I'm in the area. My favorite place for fruit cakes is in Westminster. The cakes here are a little sweeter than my preference. They also have a cake book on the counter so you can order other types of cakes and customize based on what you like. Be sure to come and support them! They are very nice and hardworking, not to mention their cakes are yummy! Every time I come here, I am greeted with great customer service. If I am in the area, I will definitely drop by to get a slice of cake to snack on. Happy eating!

Such a hidden gem for fruit tarts. This is our go-to instead of buying a traditional birthday cake. The flaky crust is my absolute favorite part & it isn't too sweet either, which makes it perfect for Asian parties. I usually order a small and it feed a lot of people!

The only way I found out about this bakery was from word of mouth. I love Vietnamese fruit tart cake and I would never guess that there is a bakery inside swap meet in the heart of Santa Ana that makes a very good cake. Soft chiffon sponge, crunchy puff pastry, creamy whip cream and fresh fruit. All the basics done well. The small cake is $40 and is very reasonable. Prices for larger cakes are also very reasonable. Plenty of parking. Casual. Take out. Fast service. Please come and create your own experience.

Ambiance: Can't speak on this since a friend bought this cake Service: Ambiance: Can't speak on this since a friend bought this cake Food: First impressions, the piping is absolutely gorgeous. The fruits were very fresh with minimal glaze, which I believe showcases the natural sweetness of the fruits. The amount of fruit is incredibly generous. The inside has a thick layer of crispy puff pastry, which is my opinion is slightly overrated, but it made it a lot easier to slice. In fact, the cake held up really well, and we were able to get clean cuts on every piece (which contrary to a napoleon, would be a nightmare to cut neatly). This fits the Asian taste of "not too sweet". Overall, flavors were cohesive, cream was light. I do think I personally prefer filo dough instead of puff pastry for the crunch factor. But delicious cake, definitely went for a second slice!

I love a Vietnamese fruit tart cake! It's not too sweet. I happened to be driving by and recognized the plaza as I've had this place bookmarked for years. I wasn't sure if I needed to preorder but hoped they would have a cake for me as I wanted to bring it to a party. The lady told me to wait a few minutes and shortly after she had a cake ready for me. They accept credit cards and cash. It's located in an unassuming food court plaza. It's super delicious my family loved it! They also sell it by the slice for $5.

This is a small Vietnamese-owned bakery shop in the middle of a food court in the Bristol swap mall. It's a few stalls down on the right when you walk in. There's plenty of parking outside. They also always have it available - whenever I call to try and reserve a cake, they tell me just to come in whenever. The fruits always taste fresh and sweet, and the crunchy part is always the perfect amount of crunch. They even write on it upon request. I've been getting the fruit cake here for years for events or parties at work, and the fruit cake here never fails. There's always someone that asks where this cake is from. I have yet to meet someone that doesn't like this cake. Highly recommend.

This is my favorite cake of all time. My Dad use to always buy it for me. It's a sweet reminder of him every time I have a piece. The cake is delicious and worth every dollar.

This is the place to get this Vietnamese/Asian fruit cake. I got it the same day and the snap was there. Fruits were sweet and the icing was very light. You wouldn't feel like you're in a cake coma after having a slice. Made fresh everyday. The next day we had a slice left from a small size cake I purchased and the crunch was gone but still good. My recommendation get the cake the day off. I was a walk in and the friendly woman at the counter said I'm sure I would like their cake. She was right. I wouldn't find this bakery if not for Yelp. So thanks fellow helpers for posting.

First things first...I live in the Valley. Thats how damn good these cakes are. I first tried this delightful specimen at a family bbq, where upon first taste, my eyes immediately became 5x larger than my stomach. I then proceeded to hack off an even larger piece to take home with me, Smeagol style; making a mental footnote of needing to get my own in the very near future. The fruit is fresh and not candied glaze, whipped cream is light and used sparingly. The star of this show are the crispy crepe wafer layers. Crunchy, crispy, light, and so delicious. Reminiscent of Chinese sponge cake but 100x better, those crispy layers always seem to wilt quickly and becomes a sorry soft tissue paper texture. These cakes? Crispy through and through until even day 2. How do you do it!? Having a night away in OC meant making a list of "must haves" to bring back to the wasteland. This cake being #1 and Cream Pan taking #2. They literally sell one thing, this cake. It comes in a few sizes for various number of servings, along with individual slices. I wasted no time, grabbed a 1/4 sheet for $40, and hopped on the 405. Nothing can stop me, I'm on the way up. Some may be weary of the plaza and food court in which their location resides, but for a girl from the SGV? Seems like home.

Pricing on their delicious fruit cake as of 2/14/25, no need to preorder, they keep making it fresh.

Just a quick update (2/14/25) to let people know the shopping center is reopened, floors fixed, come get your delicious pastry.

Three quarters size cake (yes, they offer one that is even bigger)

I keep coming back to Pacific Bakery for the large sheet cakes, great price and not too sweet taste. The location is inside of a food court, almost all the way in the back. Pacific Bakery appreciates cash, but does allow for credit cards to be used. It's an Asian bakery so the sugar level is low and the fruit on top provides the sweetness. There is a layer of phyllo dough inside so there is a crunch in the bite. This also makes the cake slightly frustrating to cut since there is hard but brittle layer inside. There is also a cream layer, so each bite has the creamy frosting, light and spongy cake, crunchy baked dough, and then more spongy cake. I do appreciate that they have four different size cakes. I needed one for 30 people and they recommended the 3/4 quarter size cakes. I think it would be ~10 people per quarter, though the pieces we cut were maybe 6 square inches and we still had some cake left over.

Fruit pastry cake slice ($4). This is so good! I highly recommend this! 10/10/2023

Ordered a sampling of their wares, and all were excellent. My wife looks for articles and stories about businesses with a Filipino angle, and showed me a NBCLA story about 61hundred bakery. Since we were going to be in the area anyway, decided to stop-in on a Friday morning soon after it opened. There was continuously a line snaking outside, with a few people allowed inside at a time. Once inside, it moves fast with a person grabbing each item as you asked for it and putting it on a tray. The cashier then counts the items on the tray, and takes your payment. By the time we tried to buy bakery items, the blue masa sourdough was gone. However, we were able to buy some other items to try: Classic Sourdough ($12) - excellent. Softened European butter seemed to be made just to go with this bread. It wasn't overly sour or too airy. I could see a group of 4 having a very enjoyable dinner with just this bread, a brick of hard cheese, some jambon iberico, and a bottle (or two) of a good red wine. There didn't seem to be an option to have it sliced. Sourdough Focaccia Dolce ($9), Pan de Sal ($8), Pain au Chocolat ($6). All really good, though not as good a value as the above. I've never really been too impressed with Pan de Sal before, but this version was very good: slightly sweet with a bit of pull and chewiness. The chocolate croissant was beautiful, with naturally occurring cross laminated strip clearly indicating the effort to produce the many layers of dough/butter that takes so much time. To top it off, we asked and received a small container of sour dough starter. Not all bakeries are kind enough to provide when asked. Here, they were more than gracious to provide it to us after a brief wait. And it's definitely alive...the starter was practically crawling out of the sealed container as we drove back home.

The self service, pre-made lunch bentos, sandos and sushi area is fine, but once you need assistance from a worker, it starts getting ridic. How so? You speak to whomever is attempting to assist you OVER and UNDER a twenty-four year old counter area that holds the pastries and/or through a tiny hole in the cabinets. You can hardly make eye contact with the person, because all the pastry is in between where you are standing and where they are standing. Some people are tall, some short, but regardless, there is NO WAY to have a conversation with them. They are trying to see what exactly you are possibly pointing to in the case, but as noted, you're talking thru a case of pastry. This is also true at the Fountain Valley location, where they only have a very small counter to check out with many people standing in line trying to have someone collect their order from the back. Maybe also ask WHY there is never any KINAKO donuts? I was there at 11 am and I got THE LAST ONE! If these are so popular, why don't you make enough to sell throughout the day? Every other time I've been here, you were already SOLD OUT! SMH HAS ANYONE HERE SEEN THE SELF SERVICE process at 85 degrees? All their pastry is individually wrapped and you calmly walk through the SELF SERVICE pastry area with a tray and tongs to help yourself. If you'd like to pass the person in front of you, it's easy and doable because there is plenty of room and it doesn't make anyone feel like you are taking "cuts". Once you get to the end, the cashier totals up your tray and puts it in a bag or box for you. Done & Done. Let me reiterate that your pastry and food are all above par and I know you've been in business since 2002 and let me commend you for 24 years of service, but it's time to CHANGE IT UP to a more user friendly process. It's not appealing to anyone in this busy day and age that there is a line out the door, ONLY BECAUSE THE PROCESS INSIDE NEEDS HELP! It's also more sanitary that the pastry and breads are wrapped ahead of time as I saw a fly inside the case today. Ugh.
