My favorite cake from Vans is the pandan coconut cake. It was good, but I think the one in San Jose is better. But Luckily they have just a slice! They have many different items here and many snacks. I wanted to get more things but didn't need that much food. Good little bakery!

We wanted to get my mom a mocha cake for her birthday so she requested a cake from Van's Bakery. This place is nostalgic because growing up my parents would get me a coconut pandan cake from here. The cakes are always moist, fresh, and delicious. As always the mocha cake I got for my mom didn't disappoint! We like that the cake was not overly sweet. Service was fast, the workers are all very nice and helpful. Ambiance is good, pick out your cake, bakery goods, or other delicious things they sell and pay for it at the counter. Definitely recommend if you want a different type of cake.

Van's Bakery Walking into this bakery feels like stepping into a world full of pastries and sweets , there's so much to choose from. I usually get coffee, bánh lọt with coconut milk, and different pastries. The desserts are enjoyable and not overly sweet , the flavors are well balanced. The bakery is spacious and clean. The older ladies who work here are very friendly, warm, and welcoming. One big plus is that they don't charge for plastic bags. Even though nowadays, wherever you go, you're charged a bag fee, which honestly feels unreasonable. Each location has plenty of parking, making it very easy to park. We love Van's Bakery! No frills, no AC, no nice decor, but tons of fun goodies and beautiful and tasty cakes! Don't sleep on their blended drinks either! I personally really enjoy their soursop smoothie and pennywort with mung bean on a warm day. I highly recommend their durian or pandan cakes, but not the mocha one. They mentioned their mocha is a top seller, but the two times I've gotten it, it was dry.

I called in the morning to customize my Pandan cake and it was ready by 2pm! Flavor is very subtle and light, which I love. I didn't want to regular green so I requested pink and white! So cute and very impressed with their service and attention to detail! Absolutely perfect and gorgeous, just how I envisioned it. Cake was so soft, moist and the perfect balance of light and airy. Their cakes are really popular because it's not too sweet! Vietnamese folks love it. Highly recommend to try it out. They also have jello cakes, wedding cakes, holiday cakes, fruit cakes, coffee cakes, durian cakes etc! Swing by and check them out!

The service is very quick, and the ladies working here are friendly. Cakes are pretty expensive now.. it was $50 for a fruit cake tart. The cake was very fresh and delicious as usual. We needed an emergency dessert, so this place is perfect and reliable for a quick stop. Parking here in this lot is absolutely insane....... But if you can find a spot far away and walk, it's worth it. They always have various sizes and flavors of cakes available. No pre-order needed. I brought it to a thanksgiving dinner. Really tasty cake with plentiful fruits!

The store is well played out as you enter you get a display of cakes, as you go towards the cashier you get to other pastries and macaroons. The team there was friendly and willing to help.

Ayooooo!!!! Back at it again, if you are looking for an alternative to a birthday cake you need to get this Asian Fresh Fruit Tart. It had a flaky puff pastry base filled with a delicious vanilla pastry cream and fresh whipped cream with an assortment of fresh fruit. I got the 10" that was around $40. The bakery also had an assortment of different asian birthday cakes. Sorry didn't get to take photos as i was in a rush. There was a huge parking lot, cards are accepted and staff were so friendly and nice. Give them a try if you are in the area, I just walked in without a pre order.

Say no more!!! The fruit pastry tart @ Vans Bakery is to Die For!!! It's delicious, I've never heard anyone say anything bad about it. All the older parents, grandparents and even youngsters love it. It's a fruit tart but the layers inside the tart isn't a cake. It's a crispy flakey pastry along with custard filled. Not sweet at all. The Fruits are fresh. High recommend finish the cake same day or the pastry can get a bit soggy overnight. The service is great and the lady associate is good at writing the HBD greetings on the clear strip to place on top of the fruit tart. The bakery is big and have a lot of other type of Vietnamese known cakes and desserts. It looks like any ordinary Vietnamese Vans bakery. Filled with so much Asian Vietnamese sweets, goodies and desserts. Parking is easy to find. Located in a strip of shopping businesses such as fast food to go, a few doors down from Cococane the sugarcane pressed juice bar and next to Boulangerie Bakery. Definitely recommended for any occasions to enjoy. They give you a complimentary plastic cake cutter/server. FYI

Ordered an amazing birthday cake for my mom' 94th birthday was very fresh strawberry & whipping cream. Service was difficult at times as they don't speak English well. Will be happy to return in the future, as we live 40 miles away.

Please don't skimp on the fillings!!

So, I bought a 1/4 sheet cake for my husband's birthday on purpose because I wanted leftovers!!! The fruit is fresh and plentiful. Big bite size strawberries, mango, kiwi, grapes, pineapple with a thin layer of sponge cake, layers of crunchy phyllo and whipped cream. The smallest cake is a 1/4 sheet which cost $45. With all the fruit on top, it made it challenging to slice nice looking dessert slices. Super yummy, I can understand why people are making reels about this place on social media. It's a winner. Friendly service, accommodating and responsive to our needs. We requested no kiwi due to one allergy to it and they make it within 10 minutes.

I think I just rekindled a long-lost relationship with this bakery…read more The last time I visited was probably a few years ago, and while I remember liking it well enough, I wasn't exactly blown away by the vegetarian and vegan options at the time. Fast forward to recently, and their Instagram marketing team deserves a raise because they absolutely got me. Every other scroll seemed to feature some gorgeous vegan pastry or savory item, and before I knew it, I was planning a visit solely based on cravings induced by social media. The pistachio croissant, pâté chaud, and sticky rice had been living rent-free in my head for weeks. Let me just say: this place exceeded the hype. The pâté chaud was the star of the show. I ordered both the regular version and the "beef" version. The vegan beef filling was tasty, but there wasn't a whole lot of it. The regular pâté chaud, on the other hand, was generously filled with vegan pork and mushrooms and was absolutely phenomenal. Flavorful, savory, and wrapped in the flakiest, butteriest pastry imaginable. One bite and I was immediately transported back to childhood. Pâté chaud was one of those treats my dad would always bring home for me growing up, so finding a vegetarian version felt like discovering buried treasure. Not to be dramatic, but I would happily eat a concerning number of these in one sitting. The xôi gà (sticky rice with seasoned vegan chicken) was another knockout. In my excitement, I started eating it immediately instead of waiting to warm it up first. Rookie mistake. By the time I realized my error, I had already inhaled most of it. After heating up the remaining portion, I finally understood what I had deprived myself of. The warm version was next-level delicious. If the room-temperature version was an A, the heated version graduated summa cum laude. I have been thinking about it ever since and am currently fighting the urge to drive back for more as I write this review. The girl working at the counter was also incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Needless to say, I will not be waiting another few years before returning. In fact, if you see someone sprinting toward the pastry case for vegan pâté chaud and sticky rice, there's a decent chance it's me.

She may have known the other customers in the store at the time because I felt she was a lot more friendly towards them. Also a heads up, you have to spend at least $20 to be able to use a card, so bring cash! I tried their honeycomb cake (in a half moon shape, good for 3-4 servings) and their vegan pork pate chaud. Both of these items were good! They were also reasonably priced as I got both for ~$8-9. The honeycomb cake was slightly sweet and chewy. The vegan pastry was flaky despite being vegan! There was a good amount of filling, which consisted of the vegan pork and mushrooms. It was savory and had a good texture too. The only other thing I may ever come back for is their vegan fried chicken but the smallest amount you have to buy 1/2 lb which is $12

I stopped in because it's located near a restaurant we frequently visit. The owner was very friendly and proudly shared their history, fan mail, and reputation, which made me excited to try the food. I ended up buying almost one of everything. Unfortunately, the pâté chaud was already sold out by noon, which was actually the item I was most interested in trying. As for the items I did try, the durian bánh pía was overly soft and mushy for my taste. The bánh tiêu was just average and didn't stand out. The chè desserts tasted homemade, which some people may appreciate, but I found them fairly basic and not particularly memorable. The bánh trung thu was decent, but not something I would go out of my way to purchase again. Perhaps these products are exceptional compared to what is available where the bakery originated, but being in Orange County, the competition is extremely strong and there are many outstanding Vietnamese bakeries and dessert shops. I genuinely wanted to like this place and support them, especially after spending quite a bit and trying a wide variety of items, but overall I left disappointed. I may return one day to try the pâté chaud, since that was unavailable during my visit, but based on what I sampled, I don't see myself becoming a regular customer.
