This shoe store is always clean and has its gear set up nice and neat. I am a fan of this shoe brand and have shopped frequently here. The customer service is good and I have always been asked if I need any assistance. I really dig the newer Vans now that look similar to a Nike sneaker with their own Vans twist to it. Only problem is it costs as much as a Nike sneaker but you get what you pay for. Overall, I have always been a fan of the economical cost of most of the Vans shoes which top off around $50 tops most of the time. That being said you can still get some really cool kicks for around $39 here or most Vans stores. If you are a skate shoe fan this store is definitely a must.

Searched high and low! Finally found these in Parkway Plaza location

We walked to the counter where 2 guys were talking and asked if we could get some help. One came over and I asked for a good pair of walking shoes. He pointed at the wall and said these are walking shoes. I asked which do you recommend? He pointed at one pair and I picked them up to look at. My wife asked what are the pros and cons of the shoe and why he recommended them. He stated you asked for my recommendation and I gave it to you. They didn't come in my size so I asked what next pair he would recommend? He stated they are all good shoes. My wife said to me I think we need to go to a store that knows more about shoes. Went to SAS on 3rd Ave. in Chula Vista. Gentlemen there with 35 years working in the store, measured both feet then showed me his recommendations. I bought a pair from him and wore them all day Sunday and my feet didn't hurt when I took them off or the next day. He was very knowledgeable all the shoes and we very pleased with the experience. He stated the store has been there for 64 years and is family owned.

I was very disappointed with my experience at Shoe Palace in Plaza Bonita during the Jordan 4…read moreImperial Purple release. I understand big drops bring crowds, lines, and limited inventory, and that is all part of the game. What was frustrating was how quickly the store seemed to run out. I only had about 10 people in front of me, and customers were being let in two at a time for sizes. By the time there were just 2 people ahead of me, I was told there were only 2 sizes left. That raises a fair question: did the store only receive 10 to 12 pairs total? Because if so, that was less of a shoe drop and more of a shoe drizzle. I have heard rumors that pairs or sizes sometimes get held for friends. I cannot confirm that, and I do not want to make accusations without proof. Still, the way this release was handled did not inspire much confidence. Store ownership or management should take a closer look, because from a customer's perspective, it did not feel transparent or fair. I also think the store should be more transparent and post a sign the night before, or at least before the line builds, letting customers know exactly how many pairs they have available. That way people can decide whether it is worth waiting instead of standing in a long line only to find out there was almost no inventory to begin with. Respecting customers' time goes a long way. Customers who show up, wait in line, and follow the process should feel like they at least had a real shot. Unfortunately, this experience felt more like a raffle where nobody told us we were playing.
