I have been growing my hair out for about 6 months from a pixie to a bob. I have been to 3 salons asking them to reshape the back of my hair to an inverted bob. I kept getting a short layered back that needed to be grown out again and again. What a relief to finally find someone (Harpreet) that could look at what I had going on, see my goal and move me towards it blending and shaping to help me feel like I have a great cut and style while growing out. I always had razor cuts in California growing up. Everywhere else stylists were afraid to razor my hair. Harpreet without even asking her to do so grabbed her razor and expertly styled my thin straight hair giving me movement and texture. I can not say enough good things about the salon. I'd give no stars if this would post! This place Ruined my planned weekend by cuttin up 6 of my 10 toes. No hot Tub, Reg tub, Nor pool for me, who works hard & needed to relax & feel good about myself. Slicing up peoples feet during Rona to shove in extra clients is a recipe for failure. Slow down, appreciate those who chose to spend their hard earned money on your service. Otherwise don't advertise as if your any better than any other salon in this area. This USED to be THE place to get your eyebrows threaded but it has gone down hill fast over the last couple of years. You always have to make an appointment and that seems legitimate for things that take longer but for eyebrow threading it seems fairly ridiculous. It literally only takes her two minutes I've timed it several times. Her supplies are a piece of string yet she charges $18. For two minutes... And the last 4-5 times I went in, she had left several stray hairs. Not worth the money or the poor customer service. They aren't open on Sunday and they are never really nice when you go in. I went back to waxing just so that I could start utilizing other salons in the area. read more

Years ago my niece told me about this place and I had every intention on going it for a eyebrow threading. Well since I now work just a few minute away I finally did it! LOVE IT! I have always been a waxer but hate doing it because of my pale skin I always look like I have been crying for days with waxing! I stopped by on a Friday night after work and it was just about closing time but Harpreet was more then happy to take care of my blonde bushys! I was not sure what to expect and she finished so fast that I was shocked at the results! I will never go back to waxing! I had not one bit of redness on my skin and my brows looked fab! I have very blonde brows and sometimes easy to miss but she got each and every one! I would prefer to have other parts of my body threaded instead of waxed also! But since she holds the thread in her mouth I understand why our "lady parts" are not on the threading menu! read more

I have been going to Shingaar Salon for about 5 years now. I have used most of their services, including Brazilian waxing, eyebrow threading, eyebrow tinting, hair cut and color (blond highlights). I am super happy to recommend Shingaar! I have many, many friends who now are also regular customer's as well. Before discovering Shingaar I had been to two different places for Brazilian wax. Harpreet at Shingaar is by far the best and most efficient. She is a true professional. Not only being faster (always good when it comes to waxing of private parts) it really didn't hurt the way she did it; applying pressure at the right time. I couldn't be happier that I discovered Harpreet for eyebrow threading and tinting. I have blond eyebrows and I just love how my eyebrows now "frame' my face. There are a lot of woman out there who would have a hairy face if it wasn't for Shingaar. I love the atmosphere, enjoy the massage tech Kristin and front desk girl Shelbie. Krisin the massage tech really knows her stuff. I heard her explaining how she gives a massage to pregmant woman; its sounds WONDERFUL. I am excited to make my appointment for a massage with Kristin. The employee's are always continuing their education, always on top of the latest techniques and styles. I love my hair color. I have bought gift certificates for my friends and family. It's a perfect gift. My husband bought me one, and this is how I discovered Shingaar originally. My daughter has very thick and out of control eyebrows. She also goes to Harpreet. She does a nice job on the young and old. She just KNOWS! what to do.. Also, I know another young girl who goes to Harpreet who has hair that grows under her chin. My first brow experience was here five years ago. I loved getting my brows threaded by Harpreet and journeyed from Seattle to here just for that. However, because I don't own a car and worked odd hours for the last 2 years, I don't have the time to come here. They also do hair and make-up here.. but I've never had anything done. Her work is beautiful.. My brows grow back very smoothly and it always looks so natural. Went to visit my Mother for the day and we wanted to get pedis and manis....this had to be the worst place I have EVER been to. I am in the beauty industry and I felt like this place was a very poor representation on what we stand for. Not one person really noticed that we were there. The pedi was lame, no foot rub...pretty much just a polish change. The mani left me with hang nails for a week. Save your money for a place that takes pride in what they do. Coming from Seattle I should have just stuck to what I knew. I am all about small business and love to support them. When you go to a place of business, it would be nice to get a greeting and maybe even a lil eye contact or question as to what I was wanting? No thanks! read more

Got my brows threaded by Harpreet and it was great. The waxing part of the salon wasn't so great. It was the first serious waxing experience I've had, and it took me almost two weeks to heal, even though I followed every single instruction she gave me. She double dipped into the wax (I didn't know at the time that this is a big no-no) and just did an overall bad job. When I got home I checked it out in the mirror, and there were a lot of strays that she didn't get, plus I was bleeding pretty bad in a couple of spots. I ended up putting neosporin all over to help out, and that was the only thing that helped. I now to to Spruce Skin Shoppe for my waxing needs. The threading was great, but I won't let them touch me with the wax again- they're also way over priced for the quality of work you get done. read more

Harpeet is the best when it comes to eyebrow threading. I always get complimented on the shape of my eyebrows. I now live in CA but whenever I am in town I still go see her if my schedule permits. $18 is steep but I've yet to find someone as good as her even in CA. read more

I first went to Shingaar because a friend bought me a gift certificate. That was about 4 years ago and now I am a regular. I have had eyebrow tint, thread, facials, and eyelash tint. The salon is ran in a professional manner, yet not too uptight. I have tried other, fancier or more expensive shops, and felt that the other places didn't really listen to me and I left with too skinny eyebrows. Hapreet and her staff always listen to me and ensure that my brows stay on the fuller side, as I request, and they are very sweet as well. read more

Don't waste your time. They are by appointment only but they will schedule your appointment for a service you didn't ask for. When you show up after waiting a week and a half, they will tell you they have no time... even though they made that mistake. No effort to rectify it. I've been going to Shingaar since they opened to have my eyebrows threaded. Harpreet does an amazing job and I faithfully went in every 2-3 weeks to have my brows tamed. However they now charge $18 for brow threading, which I find ridiculous. Threading does take skill, but the supplies required don't justify the price. I have been going here for years now, she does an amazing job with my eyebrows and I have a scar going through one of them and she still manages to make them look even and full. I don't know why people complaint about the price, I used to go to Tacoma mall before and they always messed them up sure it was cheaper but 18 dollars isn't so bad. On my first and only visit two weeks ago for brow threading, tinting and a pedicure, the woman who did my brows totally ignored me and didn't ask me any questions, then they tinted without discussing it with me. My girlfriend was worked on first and mentioned that I may want to try tint? Very impersonal. Uneven brows. I used to come here all the time when I was younger and came back today for my eyebrow threading. This place was the original eyebrow threading salon in the area. She always does an amazing job. It has gone up in price to $18 dollars which is steep but well worth it. You definitely can't find someone who will do it in the amount of time she does it in. Being new to the threading experience, I looked on Yelp hoping to find a good place. Unfortunately, I picked Shingaar. I have absolutely no idea what the name of the young lady that I had the unpleasant experience with, I just know that she was the young one. I walked in and was told to sit down in one of the chairs as the person at the front desk yelled to the young lady from behind a door. As I sat down she walked out and began her threading. I moved to Washington four years ago, and that is when I had my eyebrows threaded for the first time. I have been going every 2-4 weeks ever since. It is pretty amazing when random people compliment you on your eyebrows!!! Harpreet is wonderful, and she has always went above and beyond to ensure I get a timely appointment. I cannot imagine EVER getting my eyebrows waxed again. OUCH! Harpreet even talked my husband into getting his threaded before our wedding day! Thank goodness :) Harpreet also does excellent facials, body waxing, and eyebrow tinting. Kristen provides wonderful massages. She does deep tissue or relaxation depending on your preference. I wish I indulged in them more often! Kristen also does wonderful body polishes that make your skin feel wonderfully smooth. I have had nearly every service at one time or another at this spa. Harpreet, the master "eyebrows" performs threading and brow coloring for me. What a difference one thing done well can make! When she suggested dying them, I let her decide the color, and it's perfect! I do wish the prices were a bit lower, but I don't see going back to waxing or coloring myself any time soon! read more
