The overall visit felt disjointed and took longer than expected. With what I was told would be as shorter procedure, extending to ar ound 2 hours due to interruptions between patients. I now understand what the staff meant by working between patients. I understand dental offices manage multiple patients, but I did not feel the experience of prioritizing patient comfort at all. My mom was referred here from our general dentist for a complicated root canal. Mom does not have dental insurance and Dr. Pham's pricing was very reasonable for our case. My mom was very happy during and after her consult. Here are some standout categories: Covid-19 Sterilization process: -Dr. Pham's office takes CVD-19 sterilization and precautions very seriously here. There are never too many patients in the office and surfaces are constantly being sterilized. I observed the Dr. washing her hands after touching any surface during her consultation with my mom. She is not taking any risks of exposure for the patients. -The office is kept very clean and spotless. Customer Service -Dr. Pham will listen to all of your questions and problems and give you her honest opinion on the best course of action for the patient. The Dr. is not trying to rush you in and out so that she can see the next patient. Every patient is given quality time and care during the consultation and during the treatment. My mom's case ended up being very complicated and took more of her time than anticipated and at the end, the only attitude I saw from the Dr. Pham was one of happiness that she was able to successful complete my mom's root canal. -My mom also raved that in her 40 years in the US, Dr. Pham was only the 2nd dentist to give her glare reduction glasses and provided a very comfortable experience for her. -Dr. Pham also followed up with us to make sure my mom was not having complications/pain from her procedure. Dr. Pham is awesome! I went to her to get a second opinion. I had a root canal three months ago on the East Coast and was having issues with it. I went to an endodontist in Koreatown and he told me I would need to have the tooth extracted. This was awful news and so I did a Google search for a USC-trained endodontist and saw that Dr. Pham had actually done some teaching at USC - my alma-mater! I scheduled with Dr. Pham and two days later drove 35 miles to see her. Unfortunately, Dr. Pham agreed that chances are, I would need to have the tooth extracted. But what I appreciate is she explained why she believed this was the best course to follow and what else could be done and the odds of its success (based on the x-ray she said there was an 80% chance my tooth had a fracture but she would need to perform another root canal on the tooth to see if that was the case or not and if she did it could cause other issues). Basically, if there was a fracture the tooth would need to be removed (I believe the root was somehow fractured - goodness knows how). Well, I'm down one tooth (extraction was Wednesday) and I did ask the periodontist if he could check and see if the tooth was fractured. He claimed it was and so I feel better about the decision of having the tooth extracted, though it does suck. I really appreciate Dr. Pham taking the time to meet with me and to answer all my questions. She's very nice. Now I'm looking forward to healing up so I can get a tooth implant! read more

I was referred to Dr. Vanthi by my general dentist for a consultation, and then root canal treatment. I was able to schedule a last minute appointment for an endodontist consultation, as I was experiencing sudden and excruciating pain. Lucy the assistant helped me with the paperwork, and Dr. Vanthi gave my consultation, and then scheduled my root canal treatment within 24 hours of the consultation without any difficulties! Dr. Vanthi is incredibly passionate about her practice, and it definitely shows. As a first-timer for a root canal, she talked me through the process in a patient-friendly summary prior to starting the procedure. Root canals have a stigma about crazy pain, but it wasn't any more or less comfortable than a regular filling. Dr. Vanthi made sure that I was comfortable, while explaining what had happened (cause and effect), what is happening (procedure), and what will happen next (next step, and proper care instructions post-treatment). She was delicate and diligent throughout the entire procedure. I am scheduled to see her for a follow-up and couldn't be more delighted with how great I feel after the treatment. I had a recent gum infection due to a missed root during a root canal performed by my primary HMO dentist....booo! After a few referrals and some bad advice I was thankfully referred to Dr. Pham from Dr. Mimi who I reviewed in another review. Dr. Pham was very pleasant and informative during my initial consultation. She did charge me a a hundy for this consultation but I was told it could be credited towards future treatment if I decided to go with her. She thoroughly explained the procedure and even warned me that on very rare occurrences, she may not be able to save the tooth and would charge me a much lower fee to cover costs of the exploratory work. BTW, the $100 consultation fee is also applicable in this case too. Well fortunately my procedure was a success and she did a great job, fully saving my tooth, cleaning up the infection and all in just about an hour. She even worked out a cash discount since my lame HMO plan wasn't accepted there. Honestly, not even sure if I went to an HMO entodontist that I would have gotten away much cheaper. I was referred to Dr. Pham from my regular dentist Dr. Nguyen due to my unique situation. I recently had an anxiety/panic attack and vertigo while in the process of a root canal procedure. So I needed a specialist like Dr. Pham who during my consultation along with her assistant Lucy explained what they needed to do to prepare me for the root canal procedure. They were both very calming and professional and explained exactly what they were going to do! On the day of the procedure my son drove me to the appm't so I could be relaxed and with their high tech equipment kept my mouth propped open so I Could relax during the procedure. Big disappointment for unable to clear with clients about the fee the the office will charge. The whole time i am in the office she never mention the total fee was over $1200. She whisper to me the feee was $335 and $648 if my insurance does not cover. And she clearly tell me to bring in the statement saying that the insurance pay her the amount that she told me. My experience with Dr. Pham is wholly positive. She was professional and highly skilled. She explained the procedure to me fully (re-treatment of a root canal) beforehand and then told me everything she found afterwards. I was preferred here by my dentist, Dr. Thuy-Doung Tran who's also a good friend of Dr. Pham and gave me a great discount since I had Medical and they would not cover a root canal. Dr. Pham personally gave me a call and said she would try her best to help me with the payment. The staff were really friendly and caring. They took my x-rays and made sure I was comfortable every step of the procedure. Dr. Pham was really informative about how the procedure would be done and made sure I didn't feel any pain. After the consultation, you can either go through with the procedure or hold off. If you don't, it's $100 but if you do go through with it, the $100 will go towards the procedure. The root canal took about an hour. And they offered me Advil for the pain. And I would need to go back to Dr. Tran for a crown. She explained the aftercare and a follow through that will happen in 6 months. read more

The best root canal treatment I've had! Unlike other offices Dr. Pham and her staff were professional, informative, and friendly. When I had the consultation Dr. Pham explained to me why I would need a root canal and gave me choices of what I can do. I was also presented with a treat plan of how much it would cost so there is no hidden fees or charges. Everything is made very clear which helps so much when you're in a state of panic. I had the root canal done the same day and it was just so relaxing! They made sure I was comfortable before starting and offered me a pillow and blanket, when I had the shots I surprisingly did not feel anything which is a miracle!
