I had to get some alterations and zippers added to my duty uniform and they did a great job! I also got them dry cleaned and they were able to remove sweat stains as gross as that sounds. 7/10/18 - I was so excited to find a dry cleaner close to work. I took my king size comforter in on a Thursday to have cleaned and told the person who took the item that my cat had pee'd on it and I needed to have it cleaned. It clearly smelled bad. I was told it would be ready Monday at 4:00 pm. I was charged $34.00 on Tuesday when I went to pick it up, with a first time customer discount, and took the item and put it in the car. The comforter was folded up nicely and placed in a plastic bag that was sealed tightly. It has an odd smell to it but I chalked it up to being cleaned and in the plastic bag. I put it in my trunk around 12:00 pm, went to lunch with friends, went back to work and then home. When I got home, I opened the bag up to find the smell was still there. I was dismayed!!! Nothing was given to me, there was not a tag anywhere, nor did the clerk say indication the smell could not be removed and they still charged me. At other cleaners when the issue is not resolved they typically let you know and do not charge you or let you know and charge you 1/2 price. Since the comforter is ruined anyway, I went ahead and put it in the washing machine at my home, thinking maybe it would help the smell and I can use it in another way. When I took it out of my washer, the smell was gone, making me question if they even cleaned the comforter at all. I should have taken the extra 10 minutes to go to the cleaners on Alessandro. I would not advise taking anything here. 7/13/18 - Here is an update on my review and why I changed the stars. After I posted the owner, Kay, contacted me to apologize. She stated that normally it is policy that if something does not come clean they do put a tag on the item and she is not sure what happened. She told me she was very sorry and offered a full refund for the item. She explained that she wanted to make it right, and was sorry it happened. She was very kind and I appreciated her contacting me and asking me to call her to discuss the situation. Thank you Kay! read more

This is the best cleaners I've ever been to. Although I live in OC, I work in Riverside and I've been coming to this cleaners for 5 years. There prices are great, customer service is top notch. The people that work here are very friendly and caring. There have been many times where I've rushed over to get my clothes dry cleaned (last minute) for an event and they were able to accommodate me. The woman that does the tailoring/alterations is an angel!! I only trust her with my alterations. She gets them done in a timely matter and if I ever need something rushed she does it for me. This place was great until the new owners took over. Charging dry cleaning prices for ironing shirts. Then lying and trying to tell me that's what I always have. Not on your life would I pay that much to have a shirt washed and ironed. read more

I love this place! My husband and I came here while staying in town for a wedding. We brought some of our dry cleaning and a comforter someone let us borrow while visiting. All of our items came back in great condition. And the woman at the front counter was super nice! I wish this place was in New York. You just don't find good, small businesses like this anymore. The first photo is of my husbands jeans that the old owners hemmed. The second photo is from the new owners. My husband has to continually trim threads every time they are washed. Terrible job. Took my sons wool suit pants in to be cleaned. He didn't put them on right away and when he did they were to short and tight. Took them in where we bought the suit. And the Taylor begins to tell us that these pants have been washed and that's why they don't fit. They have SHRUNK. We had thought my son gained weight, but apparently the cleaners washed a pair of wool pants. I would never have guessed this in a million years, so of course when I pick the pants up I never checked for anything like that. Who washes wool pants? We have been going there for years and have had many things altered. Never again. read more

This place is terrible!!!! All of my uniforms that I took to this place were shrunk and still had dirt on the sleeves. I told them about the shrinking issue and tried them one last and they shrunk my uniform again! I spoke to a manager about the issue and she introduced me to the woman that is responsible for all the dry cleaning. She said she didn't know why my uniforms were shrinking and offered to let out material to make them fit better. I told her the uniform is 100% wool and I had never had anyone shrink the uniform before. In addition to the terrible cleaning, my wife took a comforter to be cleaned and they told us it wasn't there when we went to pick it up. They eventually found it in a stack of blankets that did not have any receipts attached to them. Save yourself the headache and do not take your dry cleaning here!!! read more

I had used Vanwood Cleaners for over 12 years, but after my most recent experience with a cleaning under the new owners I WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN. I just picked my $300.00 700 down filled jacket that I had turned in for dry cleaning, but it was returned with horrible stains made from who knows what, dried soap clumps on the jacket and it now had a rip and hole in it, and the down was clumped together in each isolated sections to one area, these items/issues were not there when I dropped it off for dry cleaning. The owner was rude and tried to tell me that my jacket was so dirty that she didn't realize there was a tear in it - THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTE LIE!! Yes, it needed dry cleaning which is why I had taken it to them, but didn't expect it to be returned horribly damaged, stained and dirty. When I asked if it was dry cleaned why was there dried soap on the outside of the jacket, she quickly replied that the soap may have been left over before they used the same machine to dry clean my jacket. This tells me that they washed my down jacket instead of dry cleaning as required. Then to simply lie about it is disgusting! It now appears that my next option will be in court to address the damage they did to my jacket. I requested to see their business license since it wasn't displayed and they refused by claiming they didn't have to provide one for review. THESE NEW OWNERS ARE SHEISTY, MANIPULATORS AND LIARS. IF you value your attire this isn't the place to entrust your cleaning needs, I should have trusted my instinct and went elsewhere when I was quoted a rather low dry cleaning price that was not normal for prior cleanings I had at the same place for the same jacket. I even confirmed that we were talking about DRY CLEANING, and she confirmed yes. Take heed, this isn't the same trusting business that we once knew and trusted. read more
