F150 heading to Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor.

I have a 2017 F150 5.0 Platinum and recently experienced the known water pump failure. Coolant everywhere so had truck towed to Varsity. Nervous taking to dealer but have the Ford ESP for another 4yr/60k period of time. Service team was awesome (shoutout to Chris Graham). Communication was spot on, serviced and completed as promised and all I encountered were friendly and polite. Perhaps I was lucky but I feel they really surpassed all my expectations. I'll certainly return if/when warranty work is required. An additional shoutout to buying the Ford ESP as it was flawless covering towing and repair for $100 (deductible).

$800 later still getting errors. No customer support. No urgency to fix recurring issues.

I took my vehicle in for standard service. It was returned with a series of errors. To fix the errors it was another $800+. Now weeks later the errors returned. When I called to request an appointment they only offered options 3 weeks out. When I asked for help they bounced me to 5 different people then hung up on me. Getting ahold of my assigned advisor Is a hassle and no one else will help me. No customer service!!! Awful communication!! Poor repair - recurring issues. My husband was shocked I was bounced around the way I did - he was right next to me the entire time I was on the phone. He said he should have called to avoid gender discrimination and me getting pushed around.

Just telling me "runs fine"just for it to one week later get a check engine light for the things the diesel has done to the engine/car.

I made this appointment before mid December 2025 and had to wait almost 3 weeks for an available appointment. The day of the appointment,Tuesday,I get there slightly early. I explain to Nick, the service advisor, why I'm there. He proceeds to tell me that they wont be able to look at my vehicle until Friday. Also, that they don't have a loaner vehicle available. I asked, what is the purpose of the appointment then? Nick replies, "the appointment is to get you in the door, not to have the car looked at immediately"... Its one thing not to be able to do repairs immediately or same day... Depending on what the repair is but yes if I've waited almost 3 weeks and have a schedules appointment, you should not need an additional 3 days to just look at my car. Keep in mind I also followed up to ask does the dealership offer walk-ins and the answer was yes. After this exchange, and seeing that I was visibly becoming annoyed with the customer service, Nick conveniently has someone available that can drive my vehicle to check the noise that I brought it in for. The noise that my vehicle is making is not a faint or subtle noise. It's very similar to the noise your car would make if you drive over road rumbles. This only happens when the vehicles RPM is between 1700-2000. Its is not continuous but happens anytime the vehicle is driven. Nick claims both a service tech and the service manager drove the vehicle but couldn't hear the noise. He tried to tell me probably because it's raining. After they claim to have driven the car, they are asking question like "what speed is the car making this noise, etc". Then Nick follows up with telling me he recommends when I come to have my next oil change (which I don't have done there) they can take a look while the car is suspended Or have me drive it and they ride along with me. Theres no way they didn't hear the noise if they actually drove the car. This was a completely blow off and run around about being able to proper check out the vehicle. Setting an appointment, waiting 3 weeks, and taking my car here was the biggest waste of my time and I will never be returning to this dealership!

I will definitely be returning to this location again for my future oil changes and likely any maintenance needs or car browsing. I first called and made an appointment by calling the main line listed on their website. The call was answered within the first few rings and I was quickly redirected to the service department. I was able to quickly schedule an appointment and the operator was extremely friendly and efficient. The day of my visit, I arrived ~20 minutes early and was still assisted quickly and taken right away. Compared to other oil change service locations, the waiting room was comfortable (at least for me, but I could see how the low, plush chairs could be uncomfortable/difficult for some), complete with a TV, coffee, and water bottles. Overall the oil change took ~20-25 minutes and came complete with an exceptional, complimentary car wash.

I am…read moresure I overpaid as well, but they had taken so long at that point, I just needed it done. I'm writing this review as a warning to others thinking about getting service work at Suburban. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I made an online appointment (with a loaner car) on Friday, January 30th, I did not receive my car back until the evening of Monday, February 9th. When I brought my car in on 1/30, they said the system messed up and they couldn't look at it until the next Monday. They also said they don't offer loaner cars anymore and I could call Enterprise down the street. Since my car was still driveable, I kept it that weekend and brought it back Monday. On Monday morning, they called me and said they had people out and couldn't look until Wednesday. Enterprise also told me they wouldn't have a rental until Wednesday (not Suburban's fault but adds context). I understand outside factors happen but I wish I was informed about that prior to dropping my car off on Monday. Wednesday comes and they are radio silent the whole day. I texted and called with no response. Thursday they text me and say they can look at it Friday. So there's been no communication, I'm unable to coordinate if I need a rental car and now I'm out of a car until the end of the week. Throughout this week they weren't responsive via text. They also could never put me in touch with anyone when I'd call to check in. I felt very stuck. On Friday, they finally send me an estimate and are super responsive about that aspect. When it comes to getting me to sign off on paying them, they're quick to see and reply to text messages. I approved the work asap, I really didn't want to but at this point I just needed the work done. I haven't checked with another mechanic, but I'd hate to see how much I overpaid for this work. At noon on Friday they texted me to say it will now be done on Monday. So now I'll be without my car for the whole weekend in addition to the week it's already been and it's so late in the day on Friday that I couldn't arrange a rental. Their lack of communication inconvenienced me once again. I replied immediately asking if there's any way to get it back sooner because I don't have a car. They didn't reply until Saturday morning with a short message along the lines of "no, sorry Monday". On the Monday when I was promised the car, I didn't hear from them most of the day. I texted in the afternoon asking for a status update and heard back at 5pm that it was ready. I asked for a shuttle to pick me up, which they sent (the literal least they could do). The shuttle driver was quite unfriendly and didn't seem happy to provide a ride so close to the end of the day. I now have my car back and can post my experience here. I was so unhappy and frustrated not just by the delay but by the complete lack of communication which would have allowed me to make other arrangements. They did not listen to my concerns and didn't respond when I would ask. I felt totally taken advantage of and powerless but I do hope this review steers some customers away from Suburban. I went here a few years ago when they were still La Fontaine and had a fine experience. I don't know if it was the change in ownership or what, but this was very, very frustrating. I have an older car and probably will be buying a new one in the next few years. There's zero percent chance I would look at a car from this dealership after this experience. I just hope they did the work I paid for correctly.

Still, I spent $20 and had better service than I would have at other similarly priced places. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour to the minute, which to me is average and completely reasonable. They didn't try to sell me anything additional, although they did tell me about a couple of issues with my car, all of which I already knew about and which were legitimate. Highly recommend this place for their oil changes when they're running a special!

Very disappointing experience from start to finish…read more The dealership called **us** to confirm that a specific vehicle was available at the Ann Arbor location and scheduled us for a **12:30 PM test drive that same day**. We did not contact them--they reached out to us and assured us the vehicle was there. When we arrived for our scheduled appointment, we were told the vehicle was actually at another dealership. We were then told it had been taken to Dearborn because another customer was interested, but that the sale had fallen through and the vehicle was on its way back. The salesperson assured us it would arrive within a few hours and even offered to have it driven to our house so we could test drive it. Three hours later, I called to confirm everything was still on schedule. I was again assured that the vehicle was on its way. Then, two hours after that, we received a call saying the vehicle had been sold and was no longer available. Whether the vehicle was never actually available or the dealership simply failed to communicate accurately, we were repeatedly given conflicting information and promises that were never fulfilled. We rearranged our day, drove to the dealership for a scheduled appointment, and spent hours waiting based on assurances that turned out to be false. This entire situation could have been avoided with honest, accurate communication. Instead, it was a complete waste of our time and left us with very little confidence in the dealership's professionalism. Based on our experience, I would not recommend doing business here.

After a call to our insurance he got an appointment for a repair but it was weeks away. I was out running errands and passed O'Reilly and figured I would stop in to see if they may have a temporary solution for the side mirror. Now listen, I'm not a car person. I don't pretend to be a car person, I know very little. But I do know when I'm blatantly being ignored and that's pretty. much what happened here. I walked up and down the aisles searching for the mirrors and the guy behind the counter didn't even in look in my direction. I was the only one in the store, hovering over the side mirror replacements, trying to find the matching one for the mirror. I saw him walk by, still nothing. I juggled the big book of parts to look up the number I needed for the make/model of our car and not a peep. Sure, I could have asked for help but at this point I was stubborn. "Ignore me? Fine, I can do that too." Ultimately I wasn't able to find the exact fit I needed but I did get a mirror panel we could cut to size. Better than nothing? I took my purchase up to the counter and once again, the fella barely acknowledged my existence, even while he was ringing me up. And sure, maybe he was having a bad night, or he's just not a talkative person but it either way it wasn't a super pleasant experience. Ironically we never needed to use the side mirror plate as I found the exact size we needed online. So now I have to go back and return the darn thing but I'm not exactly in a hurry to return...
