He seemed very frantic and disorganized. I then watched as he began watching a youtube tutorial on how to do it and taking her car apart.... 30 minutes into what was supposed to be 20 mins, I began looking for other window tint places in the area and found a place right around the corner who got started on my window tint right away! As soon as I left I was getting phone calls from jc's auto repair but I was already having my car serviced elsewhere. Like what many other reviews say, Universal Automotive is very reasonably priced and did not attempt to upsell me on anything nor did they try to rip me off. I requested them to do a full safety check on my 2012 Honda. There were no existing problems I could discern but it has been at least 3-4 years since I've had a comprehensive look at the vehicle and I wanted it checked out to be on the safe side. They changed the oil and some of the other fluids, advised I should get the shocks changed on the next visit but otherwise did not tack on anything else. My car drives great and was only charged $180. Had I attempted to have this done at a Honda dealer, it would been more than twice as much. This place doesn't look like much and a lot of their mechanics smoke (not in your car at least), but they seemed to do the job I asked without trying to cheat me and that's what counts. Researched a local mechanic shop specializing in BMWs and Meccanica has great Yelps! So I had my car towed here! They are so knowledgeable and fast and reasonable (compared to calling to see what other shops charge for the same service). They replaced my fuel pump and relay switch. Came back a second time to replace the weatherstripping around my front windshield and there's another part that goes under hood to protect the engine... forgot what it's called. Communication was top notch. I got a detailed email with a breakdown of the costs, including recommendations of additional repairs needed, for example the oil leak. That will be next. I love the way my car drives and happy to find a place that knows how to take care of it.

Back when I had my 2006 BMW 330Ci (E46 ZHP), they kept it running strong with regular maintenance, as well as some of the costly repairs that come with owning a Bimmer. However, that's just the price you pay for driving one of these cars. And trust me, the dealership over in Glendale is definitely not more cost-effective on some of those bigger jobs. Plus, I don't feel like I'm being up-charged at every visit and made to think that I must fix something immediately, if it's not urgent. The M Shop services BMW cars and Mini Coopers (since they're manufactured by Bavarian Motor Works too). I have filed a complaint with BBB, filed an affidavit to recover funds with my bank because this shop is a complete scam and a rip off! A little background: I bought a 1970's Mercedes. When I bought the car, I test drove it and It worked well for its age. One thing I noticed was the brakes, they were in terrible condition. I brought my car in to have the brakes repaired and asked Roubik (the shop's owner) - to check out the engine in case I needed to address any issues prior to my driving the car on the streets. I was told my brake booster needed to be replaced. I advised the owner to proceed with the work after he quoted me $X,XXX range for the work. I get a call back a few days later, saying the car is ready. I pick up the car, test drive it for a block, and it makes a loud noise, and is dragging terribly. I bring it right back, Roubik checks the car, and there are ZERO fluids in the car. They drained the fluids and did not replace them. WHO DOES THIS!!!? I realize at this point, that I may be in for some trouble, but I have paid for the service by now and decide, people/businesses deserve a second chance. In the words of Charlie Murphy, "WRONG." After he fills up the necessary fluids in the engine and transmission (in front of me as he scolds his employees in Farsi), I take it on a spin and the car Draaaaags, not moving past 20 mph. I immediately assume it is the engine or transmission. However, I am not a mechanic who runs a car repair business so I can certainly make stupid mistakes like this. I would not expect a business owner of a car repair shop to do this however. I digress... I return the car as there is no way for me to drive it. He suggests for me to leave it to be "checked out". I was pressed for time and advised him I wanted my car repairs completed before 7/1/14. I get a call back end of June, "your car is ready". I once again pick it up. I drive the car home and it does the SAME THING. I tow the car back to them the next morning, realizing I will not have my car repaired by July 1. I leave the car at shop for them to repair while I am gone. I return 2 weeks later, and the car has not moved an inch. I am told I was not expected to return until Aug 1, and therefore no work was done. I am a cool and collected person, I let it slide, but do press for them to finish the work - which I had paid for already - to be completed by that weekend. I get a call, "your car is ready". I pick it up, test drive it and MY WHEELS CATCH FIRE! I pull over, and fortunately there is a fire truck at the same corner. The LAFD truck quickly extinguishes the flames. We all realize it is very odd since the engine is not at all affected. I call Roubik, tell him what just happened, and he says, "There must be something wrong with the engine"....what? I can make that stupid mistake, not a professional mechanic with a business that is supposed to know about cars and their repairs. I tow the car in again...leave it for a few days for more "checking/repairs". I am called to pick it up and charged again for brake calipers this time. I take the car and it does not move past 20 mph. I am furious at this point but just want to get my car out of this limbo, and take it to an actual mechanic where within hours they tell me "the brake booster needs to be changed" WTF!!!? I called Roubik immediately and demanded my money back. He tells me the guy is lying and wants to take my money... I refuse to bring the car back to this place, because it has been close to a month of back and forth with no solution. Roubik refuses, and things get heated over the phone conversation. I proceed to have the new repair shop make the repairs (they rock btw, check my review in the future of their services, honest, direct, quick and dependable). My car is now running no thanks to Silver Star Automotive. The place I took it to, remedied the problem, test drove it themselves before returning the car to me - unlike this sham of a place that put my life in danger repeatedly. I wish I could give them negative stars as they deserve them. I will say that if you need to fraudulently file bogus insurance repair claims, this is the place to go. I overheard the owner discussing such things as fudging repair costs to avoid salvaging cars - which is illegal and very dangerous - with a client and should have run away from the place at that moment, but I didn't trust my instinct and decided to trust this place. I'm writing this so that you don't have to make the same mistake I did.

My car started acting up again, and I knew just who to call…read more Unfortunately, Wendell passed away earlier this year, but his son Clayton and nephew Shane are continuing his legacy by operating the shop, and I must say, the work and customer service are just as wonderful as they've always been! Clayton was extremely kind over the phone, and knew exactly what car I had/the service history, which was incredible. I knew I needed an oil change, and asked if Shane could give my car a once over to make sure everything was okay, and he let me know my car would be ready by the afternoon. About an hour and a half later, he called me to let me know it was ready to be picked up, and that everything was working perfectly fine. Shane was very communicative, kind, and his work speaks for itself. He even topped off all of my fluids! Excellent service, fair pricing, I will always take my car to Independent Nissan!

They began to escalate and accuse me of accusing them. We confirmed on a day for me to grab my parts a week prior and upon the pick up date they wanted to hold onto my parts. I argued that they should install the parts that THEY removed because as a shop you NEVER give a customers car back when you didn't receive it with missing parts. They began to say that they don't believe my oil dip stick wasn't put back on accusing me of lying. I told them and explained to them several times that the car would be idling badly if I drove the car to them like that and it wasn't, it only started doing so when they said my car was "ready." They told me to go ahead and buy a dip stick and they'll reimburse me. Dealers do not stock dip stick of this year anymore so I had to purchase online and wait. Those days I waited I was unable to drive the car. As I said before, I brought my car in for an oil leak, they had my car for several months and I still had an oil leak when I got it back. They claim to be Nissan specialists but they should have known where to look and what to look for. They told me to steam clean my engine bay and I had to agree because they given me no choice. This shop needs to learn how to do business and learn proper etiquette. I wasted thousands of dollars and for what? Now I gotta fix their mess up my own. They know what they did even if Clay and Christi is never at the shop they can't say that my parts aren't there. Clay had "no idea" what parts I was talking about when I had told them exactly which parts let alone sent them a screenshot of my parts sitting in their shop a week prior. Low and behold all of my parts that were missing were there. They been in business for 50 years then how can you guys simply screw up one customer?you claim to take care of their clients but they hadn't token care of my car and it was sitting there for 2 months. Took the other shop only 3 days to completely fix my oil leak. If this shop continues to operate like this I don't see them lasting very long. I took my car to a proper Nissan/ Infiniti specialist and they got it done within 3 days. I didn't have to steam clean the engine for them to figure it out. FINAL UPDATE: These imbeciles gave me screws for MY parts that weren't even meant for my car. My engine cover and undershroud all screws and nuts are missing. You simply had one job and these are basics to a mechanic. BEWARE. If you take your car here be sure to ALWAYS look through the work they did. Each time I drop my car off there's always something.
