The front of the house from the garage to the sidewalk was torn out and replaced with pavers. I had 2 planter boxes added and we extended the front porch. Because of the grade from the sidewalk to the house, we had a French drain added at the garage (lowest point) which drains to a sump in the backyard. This was to prevent flooding in the garage and around the foundation. The water is then pumped out to the sidewalk. The drain was put to the test this winter and it worked perfectly. During the project Jose was on the job site each day. His crew were very professional and followed through with all the small issues that came up. The pattern they laid down was great and blended perfectly. The porch looks great and so do the planter boxes. Most importantly, the pitch of the entire surface is perfect. This a family business managed by brothers, their staff are mainly cousins and tend to hire day…read moreworkers with limited gardening experience. Initially they upgraded the look of the front and backyards. Therefore, I hired them to do maintenance. It was going well for a while, but overtime the quality of the maintenance work declined, having a higher turnover of non-skilled workers. I asked to assign one person, so I can communicate with the lead gardener, it was ignored. The last work required arborist experience, because involved trimming 3 trees. What a disaster!!! One gardener was sent to trim the jacaranda's branches, but those close to cables weren't cut, the privet was poorly cut leaving new branches on the bottom and a pyracantha bush branches were cut but not removed. The bark was poorly distributed and sprinkle hoses cut in different parts. The additional 2 workers came late because the truck broke, the one trimming the larger tree didn't use safety ropes during trimming, didn't have a proper saw to cut larger branches or other tools for his work. Days later when I discovered different points of heavy water leaks. I contacted one brother and sent the pictures he asked of the hose leaks to get the parts to fix them. He didn't show up because again the truck broke again, not even called to explain. That was it, I cannot trust they will provide the service we agreed. So, two weeks ago I terminated the engagement, not surprisingly it was not communicated to his worker/cousin, who showed up this week. If you decide to hire them, you may experience something similar overtime. Last, I may recommend to have a written agreement with stating clearly the terms of the work. Verbal agreements are not sufficient.

I had Fencepro replace part of my fence and retaining wall in 2010…read more I never got any type of warranty from them and after 6-7 years the fence/retaining wall started to lean. When I called and left a message a receptionist replied back that there should have been a warranty. There wasn't any with the original contract that we signed. I recently called them up and mentioned the I did not know about the 10 year warranty and it's now 15 years later. I spoke with Fencepro owner and he told me that even if I had a warranty it was the material that went bad. Since I hired another contractor and who incidentally just had finished a similar fence on the other side of our house that has both a fence and a longer retaining wall which lasted more than 30 years. It was built with some thought and ingenuity that FencePro lacks. They put in a simple system to drain the water to the street and put plastic on the posts just above and below ground to help protect the wood. They realize that wood easily rots when they get wet! When they removed the posts there was minimal wear on the 30 year old posts. On the side Fencepro did, the wood was completely rotten since no other measures were were take to insure its longevity. They may do a job quickly, but I believe they lack expertise in building quality retaining walls. I recommend that you find someone who ismore qualified, and is quality conscienous that knows how to build and make a lasting retaining wall! Below are my pictures. Judge for yourself!

Cannot complement the five man crew on the job highly enough, at least 10 stars. Crew arrived as scheduled and immediately started work, some setting up others removing the old fence, each man knew his job. Even working in a 5 X 40ft space they preformed like a professional team each man moving and working without getting in each others way, at the end of the day cleanup with brooms and blower. Fair price and a discount, however given some of the difficulties, old concrete and moving dirt, this was a bargain.
