    I'm not usually this person, but I need you all to know to not take your beloved pets to Dr. Amanda Bugarovich (or anyone, for that matter) at VCA Westmoreland Animal Hospital. We had our worst veterinary experience in Eugene there this week. Our old beagle had an incident on Tuesday that left her with a knocked out tooth and an unknown/mystery injury on her lower back. She wouldn't let us near it, but we noticed a crusty patch of hair, which we assumed was blood. We brought her in to VCA the next day and made sure to explain the incident and mention what we thought was blood on her back. They assured us they did a thorough exam and that it was probably nothing more than a bruised back. We brought it up *three* different times. Twice when we brought her in, once the following morning during the follow up call. They sent us home with some anti-inflammatory meds for her back pain and an estimate for dental work (the original purpose for the visit). We took her home on Wednesday and gave her the meds, but she still seemed incredibly uncomfortable. Nothing helped and she was still breathing heavily, restless. Thursday morning when she woke up her bed/pillows/blanket were covered in blood. We mentioned this to the Dr on the phone, she shrugged it off again and told us that it was likely coming from her mouth. Throughout the day we noticed drops of blood all over the house, on the rugs, the hardwood floors, her bed. And she was visibly very uncomfortable. Our dog doesn't complain, and can handle a lot. She's knocked teeth out and kept playing, sprained things and kept going. Knocked the wind out of herself and then gone swimming. She's a tough girl. A true hound dog. She was audibly crying this week, twitching and yelping anytime we got near her lower back. By Thursday evening the blood was still flowing and we noticed that it was coming from....her lower back. We called the vet again and the receptionist told us that the dr was gone for the day and to wait until the next morning for a phone call. I lasted about 20 minutes but couldn't stand seeing her cry in pain while bleeding, so I called the vet back. Demanded to speak to the Dr who sent her home to bleed in pain for another full day. I was met with so much resistance, zero sympathy or apologies and no effort was made to try to soothe us. Admittedly, I became less cordial as time passed, but my dog had her head on my leg, crying, while I was being told to calm down. The woman on the phone kept saying "it just isn't going to happen. you will just have to wait". Still no mention of the actual dog that was dripping blood all over the house. No empathy for the dog. No empathy for the worried owners. One trip to the emergency vet, 3 hours and another bill later, we learned that she had an abscess on her back that burst when she fell. On Tuesday. She had been bleeding for three days by the time we found it. Thank god that the emergency vet. If we hadn't had this service she would have waited another full day and maybe been seen by a competent vet. After another call to VCA today, during which they learned the actual cause of her pain and bleeding, and we have still received no apology, no attempt to remedy the obvious oversight and negligent care and zero accountability from anyone in the office. They refused to refund us the cost of the office visit, despite having done very little to actually find the source of our dogs pain. Such a horrible experience. They invited us to remain their customers and said that they are still willing to do her dental work, but there is no world in which I am leaving my defenseless elderly dog in their care. They have proven that we can't trust them to do what's best for the dog, and that they don't listen to owners' very valid concerns. The obvious oversight in appropriate care is upsetting in and of itself, to double down on such poor customer service is not redeemable. Never again. Please tell everyone you know. photo of the reason she had that crusty patch of fur, that no one picked up on, is attached here. Thank god for Springfield Emergency Vet Clinic. They have been thorough and patient and even called us back within hours when we called with questions. The best part is, the bill from the emergency vet was actually cheaper than her primary doctor, who didn't even solve any problems.

    Words can't say how grateful we are to the VCA Westmoreland Animal Hospital, Dr. Shane Sheets, Kate, Amanda and the rest of the staff for the extraordinary care they gave Timber. Their professionalism and integrity was way over the top. Dr Sheets and the entire staff went out of their way to make her, and us, feel at ease and comfortable. The determination he showed in finding the cause of the pain, swelling and scary high fever was truly amazing. One day later after her two day stay, she was wanting to play catch in the back yard. Because of our experience, we have chosen Dr Sheets to be our dog's primary care veterinarian. Dr Sheets and his staff are now on our list of favorite humans in the world!!!

    Horrible customer service. Waited every time we went in. Last time sat more than 45 minutes finally got up and left. Not worth the money.

    I just love the sensitivity vibe at Bush Animal Hospital…read more There are pheromone diffusers and towels for nervous cats and dogs. I had to put my beloved Tuxie Darby cat down last week, not all of the sudden, I mean he was 16ish years old. I found the entire experience designed around my emotional needs. Mr Tux made it a quick Irish manx goodbye by developing heart disease and evidencing it only for his final week. He had stopped eating and we went in to see Dr Newman to see if perhaps he had megacolon or something fixable. When we got the bad news, fluid on his lungs and body mass loss, the entire staff was very well spoken and supportive. Tuxie could not have received better care!

The self-proclaimed manager/ owner of this establishment is either absolutely clueless and devoid of any knowledge of finance and business (e.g. pricing points, knowing whether she is making a profit or not, etc) OR she is deliberately deceitful in order to mask the true costs of the services provided. BACKGROUND: I wanted a routine dental cleaning for my little girl. I was fine with the possibility of dental extractions, as my angel is a little bit older, and I know eventually it is inevitable. I have taken each of my cats into a vet - NOT THIS CLINIC (I moved from out of state) - in the past, and felt comfortable with the procedure. What I did not know is that, unlike other clinics I have have had great dental cleaning experiences in the past, the owner/ manager of this clinic DOES NOT KNOW and REFUSES or is incapable of understanding her business' "Dental Plan" financial structure. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU as a client: (1) You will be gaslit into accepting random pricing without justification. There was even an attempt to convince me that I should be happy they clipped my cat's nails for free while under anesthesia, versus the $50 they normally charge (that was the only itemized charge they disclosed to me). Ironically, during the previous visit, the veterinarian had commented that I "did a good job" clipping her nails. And nail clipping at ANY other vet has never surpassed $12. (2) You will not be able to submit a full insurance claim (ALL insurance companies require an itemized list of the pricing associated with the services provided). It would be like grocery shopping, seeing a total bill of $900, and never being able to verify WHY that total is what it is. ADDITIONALLY: The client to staff communication is horrible. Horrendous. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. I have been told 3 different things (price-wise, procedure-wise, practice-wise) on the same day that have nothing to do with an adjustment of a quote. poorly managed organization. Ultimately, I am not complaining about price (I can't refute it - the manager can't even explain her pricing), but LACK of QUALITY OF SERVICE. Virtually EVERY single visit was an "OOPS!" FINAL NOTES: I am happily with a new clinic, which I transferred to the day after my sweetie's appointment with this absolute mess of a clinic.
