best vegan food i've ever had? nope. a place with more than one vegan option and i don't have to cook it? yepppp. this menu is all vegan and has a lot of options. the food itself wasn't amazing but maybe it was what i got. i got the breakfast burrito but they were out of vegan sausage so they added extra tofu for me. so my burrito had tofu, potato, cheese, onion, and something that was very very sour. whatever it was it wasn't great. now maybe i'm spoiled by anna's house vegan breakfast burrito but this was pretty boring and lacking flavor. the chili cheese fries were pretty good though. the "chili" reminded me more of my vegan sloppy joe sauceI make but still yummy. the fries were the best part of the meal. if i was in lansing again i would definitely try something else from here. even though my meal wasn't great i'm still giving 4 stars for the concept, the vibe, and the amount of options.

Traveling through and craving something spiced & not heavy. This caught my eye on Maps and we had to stop. We ordered the spicy breakfast burrito with brisket and the Fire loaded fries. Absolutely delicious!! It was as exactly what we needed! We had the cherry lemonade and mango guava too go with. And fried Oreos for dessert! Definitely recommend! The staff was super kind and the patio sitting was perfect for our dog (who was with us).

Amazing vegan spot even my meat eating family enjoyed. Half of my family went to go get Conrad's and after trying this spot they agreed VEG-N tasted and felt better. I quote my cousin "I can keep eating this, it doesn't even feel greasy at all!" I got the following: CK-N Griddle burrito - one of my favorites that I got here, it was so good. Only thing I'd say is to make the egg flavor more pronounce. Besides that, I can eat this several times a week lol Cheezy Chick-N - Got two of these, it was delicious. JALA-JALA Chick-N - This was also one of my favorite, this thing SLAPS!! It all goes so well together. Coney Carrot Dog - My meat eating cousins were in disbelief when it came to our table, before they were cracking up of the idea of a carrot hotdog, surely they were all shocked how good it was. Crinkle fries - not much to say, just fries. They come quite plain so be sure to ask for some salt. My cousin got: Crunchy Frito Burrito - He said it was amazing, reminded him of his childhood so that's a win. Crispy Chick-N - He said it was good, but also noted that he wish there was mayo in there. Cinno/choco roll - We all tried this one and we wasn't really enthusiastic about it Oreo Donut Bites - everyone loved this one, this was def a home run. Conclusion and things you should know: The menu and pricing pics on yelp is outdated. To my surprise the prices have become cheaper! I will post pics below. The wait is about 15ish minutes so just keep that in mind. Overall, this hit the spot for us. The workers there are very nice and understanding. The menu is exciting and so many things I cant wait to try next time. We all loved the price and how affordable it is and not one of those vegan restaurants that try to get an arm and leg from you. We live about an hour away but this will def be our go to spot whenever we're in town!

Got the frito burrito, sweet potato fries and mango guava lemonade. Burrito was AMAZING and I'd highly recommend. Sweet potato fries were perfect and lemonade was refreshing. Went with a group of 8 people and everything was served in a timely fashion. We all loved it! Def going back again.

Great vegan options in the East Lansing area! Pros: Great food Good variety Friendly employees Fast service Cons: Not as affordable Small portions I really enjoyed the food we got. The animal basket fries were delicious and the un-cajun animal burger was tasty. My only complaint is that the portions are small but the prices are on the higher side. I want to think the higher costs reflects the better quality ingredients they use and the higher wages they give their employees but even then, it seemed expensive for the amount of food you get.

Can you remember a time when you were yard sale shopping and you were hungry for healthy food and didn't want to go to the grocery store? I literally opened Apple Maps and saw VEG-N near where we were located - 3 min away - and knew right away, (hoping they were still open) healthy nutritious food could very well be there!! Ah-Ha! Open and ready to serve, plus a free cookie cuz they're like new and stuff. Their are cookies are 100! And for those who think they pay for reviews, um, I would have forgotten to write one so it's like I gave them my word and they rewarded me with a cookie. Now I followed through with this review because ya great experience. Typically I like to try the classic burger anywhere I go, their beyond burger makes Burger King's Beyond bigger taste like burger nothing.

Passing though Lansing and had to stop to try some vegan food. We got the chicken ranch salad and a Reuben beyond burger. For the salad, the ranch was tangy and the pickled onions added a nice flavor. The chicken was good though it had a chopped-up-boca-burger quality to it. The Reuben burger was good though not saucy enough! Really missed the cheesy-saucy-ness that I associate with Reubens.

Update--March 17,2021: Christobel honored her offer to replace my incorrect order as detailed below. I went today and everything was perfect. You can't beat great customer service. I received my veg-ie double stack, plain chips, and she added two vegan chocolate chip cookies. I will be back. March 16, 2021: I still like this place, mostly because it's the closest vegan spot in town and it's good. I will visit again--eventually--because I am pleased with the customer satisfaction. So with my second visit, I ordered a rueben veg-ie (supposed to have double patty) with chips. I waited 34 minutes and once I got to my destination, found out that my order was incorrect. I was definitely not happy because 34 minutes for a veggie burger--that barely requires any cooking--is ridiculous. Also, I paid $16 and had a prior engagement to which this caused me to be late. I figured I would have enough time because the usual wait is 15 minutes. Nonetheless, I called them, they apologized, and offered me a replacement for the same sandwich on my next visit.

VEG-N's brick&mortar location just opened today 2/1/21 and I was lucky enough to be their 1st official order! Ordering is pretty easy. Go on their website and check out the menu. Eatvegn.com/menu/ You build your own sandwich - pick a style and then the kind of patty and extras. We got the Buffalo Style Chick N & Mediterranean Style Veggie! Both extremely delicious and VEGAN! Don't worry though. They have real cheese to if you're into that sort of thing ;) SO excited they are open. They had been closed for a while during the transition, and we'd never got a chance to visit the food truck. Veg-N is exactly what old town was missing - delectable "Plant Based American Classics!"

This is a new to me place in Old Town Lansing, but outside of the main business district, at least for now. It's easy to miss if you aren't looking. And I highly recommend you look for it! I'm not a vegan or strict vegetarian, but my husband and I enjoyed our sandwiches from there last night. I had the buffalo chick-n on artisan and he had a reuben coney. Both were very good! I might ask for a little more ranch dressing next time, but the level of spiciness was just right. The cookies were a tasty treat. The people running it are over the top pleasant -- just ask them anything about what you're ordering! We will return! I hope their presence spurs more development in that end of Old Town. I can't wait until this place and others can open fully for dining.

    BBQ Honey Not-Dog
    Kunal S.

We have been vegetarian our entire life and Lansing is severely lacking in vegan food. When I saw VEG-N's menu, the best way I could describe this establishment is of having a typical LA vegan menu (which is awesome). We ordered the Loaded Fire Fries, BBQ Honey Not-Dog, and the Cajun Black Bean Burger. The fries were truly immaculate. They were seasoned very well, with a perfect crispy exterior. All the toppings were fresh and high quality as well! The Cajun Black Bean Burger was also fantastic, the sweetness of the bread perfectly balanced out the rest of the burger. Lastly, the BBQ Honey Not-Dog was phenomenal. We have never had a hot dog substitute before but it was packed with flavor! I had my meat-eater friend taste it and he said he wouldn't have been able to tell it's a meat alternative if I didn't tell him. Also, our service was impeccable and the sweet lady at the drive thru was so helpful with giving us ideas on what to get! We were very worried eating all this oily and carby food we would feel bloated, but this place seems to use such high quality ingredients, bloating was not a problem at all. We just had a food baby after :)

Hey y'all. It's been a while since we've last spoke. How are you doing? If this review happened to be a song, it'd be called Born To Eat Wild. And I know I thing or two about rockin out so this song would be a smash hit. A bop. This business is a chart topping success. Let me set the scene. It was a quick work trip. Just me, the boys, and the open road. Got our motor runnin, we were out on the highway, lookin for adventure and whatever meal came our way. Well it couldn't be just any meal. It needed to be a vegan meal. Enter Veg-n. Upon arrival this building looks like it could've been an old hot dog and ice cream place owned by a dad who retired after years of working the concession stand at a ballpark. It's now a vegan restaurant. And we were grateful to have stumbled upon it. The service here is top notch. I can't stress that enough. I hadn't even eaten a bite of food and after placing an order over the phone, this place had already earned at least 2 stars. Food? Oh yeah, that's why we were here. The food was Fresh. Buns? Fresh. Veggies? Freshhhhh. Chickn patty? YUP YOU GUESSED IT FRESH. My coworker was feelin silly for some fried spuds, but there were none on the menu. In our post meal banter we all thought fries and an appetizer of wings would be a fun addition. I would also love to show up in a motorcycle with two sidecars for my two coworkers, like Tim Allen in that motorcycle movie. Pure Michigan. Pure Veg-n.

Wow! All of the Stars!…read more Tavern 109 in Williamston is such a cool spot. It used to be a bank, and is now a quaint exposed brick, retro ambiance restaurant. I felt like I was in a movie with Johnny Depp playing John Dillinger, or that Al Capone was going to race down Main Street leaning out the window letting his "typewriter" lose, with a black and white cop car screaming up behind him. It just puts you in a different period. And the food! My goodness. We ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Pizza, Jalapeño Artichoke Dip and my wife got a side of the Ginger Carrot Bisque. Phenomenal, all of it. I don't know what I enjoyed the most. The pizza was a perfect 10" size, with incredible flavor and crunchy crust. They certainly do not skimp on toppings. The artichoke dip was insanely good! The naan bread was baked to perfection and sprinkled with a perfect amount of salt to complement the dip. The soup was a good as it sounds too! Service was top notch. We were seated immediately (around 9pm) and our waitress was very helpful. She made sure our drinks were topped off and kept us up to speed on the status of our food. We will absolutely be back and we will be recommending Tavern 109 to all of our family & friends.

In the beginning, it was a little bit more pricey for the food, but it just tasted better. So I didn't mind. The last few times, they cannot seem to get it together while charging higher and higher prices. Last night we visited again, reluctantly. Jimmy John's was across the driveway and a Cracker Barrel across the street. I would've sufficed for that, but my wife wanted some of the extras that only Culver's can give. For a family of four, our bill used to be around $45. Last night it was almost 65. And in a day and age where people are really counting their pennies, it didn't sit right. Let me set the atmosphere for you, we came in to the lobby. Always impeccably clean. We were greeted by the cashier. She was young, helpful and kind. So far so good. Much better than the girl that was at the drive-through window the week before when I just came through late at night to pick up a couple of Sundays you know, the two scoop caramel with cashews? But that's a whole Nother story. Two scoops of ice cream, a bunch of cashews and a hint of caramel for $13? Definitely not worth it. Nor was her attitude. Getting back to last night we ordered four combos. Our girl was very fast and very courteous. So fast that I couldn't keep up with adding the next thing to my order. We asked for two sets of onion rings and two french fries. With multiple burgers, which then became combos. Somehow, we got 5 cups for four people and a slushie drink. The lobby was not busy, which is a rarity for Culver's. We thought this will be easy Peezy. My wife saw the tally and told me not to look at the card reader and just pay it. Lol. This building used to be one of the best. Customer Service was so high. I felt like I was at a Chick-fil-A. (who still holds the bar for accuracy and politeness) my wife wanted to check through the large bags we got before we went out to the car, because they almost always forget something or give you something different. I didn't want to stay in there any longer so we got into the car and yes, we got one onion ring, and three french fry. We sought to go around to the drive-through and have it exchanged, but the line was long and our food would get cold before we get anything done. And that's not really too big of a deal because we like the french fries but also like to get what we ordered and paid for. We got home and as usual, the deluxe burgers that I've loved was once again burnt to a crisp on the outside rim of the burger, and very salty. It's been this way the last three times I've been to Culver's. I know McDonald's can be garbage, but they never burn their burgers. I really don't know what's happened that this has become a consistent thing. Since I have moved to Lansing, Culver's have popped up all over the state. Maybe they are just getting too big to care? I hope not. But the younger generation have attitudes in every bit of their lives, especially in a workplace that they don't appreciate. Many complain that they don't get paid enough to do a good job. I don't know that's the case for Culver's. But something is amiss in their kitchen.
