When we looked up this gem and called, we had to pay a mandatory reservation fee for 4 of $85 to secure seating (to be credited to final bill), as it is a very small mom & pop (my favorite types of eatery). We did not mind to pay since there are no current restaurants that charge less than $100 for meals, especially for four guests. The location is exactly across the street of the "Casita Restaurant" on 8th St that I occasionally frequent. For starters, the Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, "Papi", was delicious. I was afraid it was closed because I keep hearing rumors of vegan places closing in Miami, but I'm so happy this place is still in business. This is my favorite restaurant. It's Italian, an authentic Italian experience, it's vegan, and everything is made from scratch. I try to go there almost every month. I went with a big group of my vegan friends recently. I always order the Salsicia Stella Pizza and the kale Cesar salad. Today we were given a new experiment from the chef/owner Simon, who made a gluten free dough and made a flat bread that was delicious. With the Stella Salsicia pizza and the kale Cesar salad my girlfriend and I eat and sometimes have leftovers. This is a hidden gem in Coral Gables. The 'cheese' was creamy and delectable. Who knew vegan cheese would be so yummy. The dough - crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. You get an option of 2 different sauces. We chose marinara & Pesto. TBH the boli boli alone was perfect, but the sauces definitely added some pizzazz to the dish. I could have easily grabbed a staw and drank the sauces alone lol The guy that was there was pretty nice and patient with us. This quaint and cozy vegan Italian restaurant has been around for three years on 8th Street closer to Coral Gables and it did not disappoint! They also have their own garden behind the building where their fresh ingredients come from. My favorite was the Fuggatcha Bread with Kalamata olives and the Caprese Salad with cashew buffalo mozzarella.
