I have been wanting to leave this review for a while but I never did because I didn't want to deter potential fosters but coming across the low reviews for this organization I feel it best to share my experience as a first time foster. When I spoke to Lauren she asked if I would take a puppy and I said sure, making it clear that I have no dog experience it was willing to learn. Long story short, she placed two puppies with me and when I went to meet her, she had no food, no pen, and oh by the way the puppies were sick and would need to be given antibiotics on schedule. She was so rude and unprofessional in her communications with me. If you're experienced with your own items you might be okay but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Lauren was extremely rude in her communication with me. She basically called me a liar regarding why my 10 year old dog was no sprayed/neutered. Yet my dog had been to her vet appointments, had been microchipped and has her vaccines and not once did the Vet mention anything about spraying my dog, my dog is even licensed in Henderson! I placed interest in a female puppy. Lauren was quick to follow up via email, but she wouldn't allow me to continue the application process since my current female had not been spayed. This seems like a really odd policy since I was trying to adopt another female. I took my girl into my vet to see about getting her spayed the same day, by the time my appointment was over I received an email stating the puppy I was interested had been adopted. Couldn't she had just told me that someone was in the process of adopting her already? Normally I take poor reviews with a grain of salt, but I think everyone is spot on with this rescue. There are better, cheaper options that won't make you jump through hoops. read more

I attempted to adopt a dog with this company a few years back and was met with accusations about my current home, refusing to listen to or accept any of the answers I provided for her despite the validity. She was consistently rude and dismissive in email. A year or so later my manager adopts a dog and tells me the dog was sick when she got it and the people she adopted from have been extremely rude, unhelpful, unresponsive, and seemingly careless about this poor sick puppy. She showed me the email thread and I realize the dog she just adopted was from this rescue and we talked about our shared experience with the rude and careless owner. Finally, another friend tried to adopt (not knowing the info above) and said that she stopped trying all together because of her interactions with the owner. Again, saying how rude, accusatory, careless, and mean she was. I ended up getting a cat from The Animal Foundation and had an stress-free experience with helpful and kind employees looking to get these animals into good homes. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars for the service I received. My friend who is a DISABLED VETERAN (served overseas for over 10 years) was interested in BUYING A DOG FROM A BREEDER. As a fellow advocate for ADOPT DON'T SHOP, I tried endlessly to get him to see that there was loving pets at local shelters. On a search for pitbull puppies, we found Vegas Roots Rescue on PetFinder who had the cutest litter of pit mixes. Although not purebred, I assured my friend he would get an amazing experience through a rescue who can give him more assurance than buying a dog from a breeder. He agreed. Saturday morning he made his 40min one way journey to the other side of town to the Bark in the Park event in order to see these pups. Upon arrival, he was meant with many roadblocks masked as "policies." They required photos of his home, backyard, (which I assured him was standard procedure) however, now 40 mins away from said home, we offered a compromise. We could provide proof of backyard images from the Multiple Listing Services (MLS) as well as home ownership proof from the Clark County Accessor's website that the potential adopter did in fact OWN their own (drivers license has address) as well as proof that the person accessing the MLS was indeed the person who SOLD the house, and could provide proof and confirm those were indeed the correct images of the home!!! Once again, we were met with roadblocks, they said we could not use these photos and advised my friend they would have to drive the 40mins in order to get Live Photos from TODAY to prove what the backyard looked like!! As the person who forced their hand to work with this rescue I am MORTIFIED at the customer service that was exhibited today! I even mentioned my association with another agency to ensure them that I could vouch for this person and their intentions behind wanted to adopt. The FOUNDER was very proud to say she didn't give a fuck if I was a realtor, if I had photos. They then proceeded to PLAY VICTIM when I called them out for the behavior they masked under policies! They REFUSED service to let my friend adopt a dog!!! I had multiple other people go up to their booth who were NOT BLACK and there were all willing to "WORK" with them in order to get the animals adopted. If you guys didn't want to adopt pits to the black ppl, next time be bold enough to just say that instead of causing a scene over asinine policies and hurdles you were only making ONE customer jump through!!!! Everything you requested could not only be provided but it could be LEGALLY PROVED!!! There was no reason to make that customer drive home just to take a video of their backyard. That is something that could have been easily verified with a compromise of when you guys dropped the dog off, you would do a home inspection!!!! HORRIBLE RESCUE. HORRIBLE SERVICE. You guys know exactly what you did today and why you did it! SHAME read more

I love this rescue. They are dedicated to saving, rehabilitating and re homing animals who have been neglected, abused, overbred, dumped or otherwise forgotten about. They do so much more than just adoptions and the rescue itself is such a small team of people who are all loving and passionate. A LOT to improve. Organization and customer service for a start. So we saw a French bulldog named Philip. 53 min after it was posted 2 nights ago. Immediately submitted an application and sent 2 personal emails hoping it would at least somebody to acknowledge us out of applicants. Called the next day (yesterday) and asked if he was around and spoke with 1 representative that explained they received my application and would normally get back within 24-48 hours. Decided to call back later yesterday evening and then spoke with another rep who said they were filtering out applications and she asked for my name and after stating my name they said they saw it and then would be getting back to us at least by email. Never heard from anybody..... called back first thing this afternoon and spoke with some lady who said they already emailed all the applicants. I had confirmation my application was done. She stated she was driving and couldn't check which is reasonable but she was rude for me asking if they already sent emails and I never received one if they were actually going to contact me back. She stated he had a meet and greet at 4pm with a family. And a 4 month old FRENCHIE probability of not getting taken home is slim to none. She was not only rude for me just trying to get clarification but repeated herself like I'm some idiot and told me to just reapply. I did. Now that I know they never received my application. Broke my heart because I'll never know if they HAD MY APPLICATION if that would have been my family and I who saw Philip. The fact that they are so unorganized and everybody is full of shit is what bothers me. Even if they offer another FRENCHIE on the future. I'll never even try to apply and deal with this place after the experience I just had with these asshole volunteers. Why they answer while they drive is baffling when it's against the law and why she is hostile and rude for me asking simple question is what I didn't like. Hope Philip has a great life. And thanks for never even giving me a fair shot of ever getting him with your shitty computer systems and lack of communication from your staff. If you don't like volunteering. Work somewhere else. Don't project your bullshit on people. Get a puppy from somewhere else. The fact that I was persistent and spoke with people and they confirmed my app after asking my name. Didn't even give me the time of day to let me know if I was even considered "we don't have your application" get better shit so you don't let people down. Do not work with this rescue. Disorganized and unprofessional from the very beginning. They never called to see how our puppy was doing. The only time they called was to cover themselves financially or legally. For example, for weeks we did not hear from them, until they found out we were boarding our puppy for a trip planned months in advance. They only called to make sure that we knew they weren't covering boarding (which we obviously knew). They rarely picked up their phone if we had any questions, nor did they get the gender or name of our puppy right for most of our correspondences. They were very insistent that we spay our puppy when she was only 4 months old when multiple vets have told us that we should probably wait at least 6 months. Be careful with signing any of their paperwork. You practically pay them $500 to foster a puppy for them, and the puppy isn't legally yours until they are spayed or neutered. read more

It saddens me to leave a 1-star review for an organization that helps animals in need and assists if finding them forever homes. I adopted my dog from Vegas Roots Rescue a little more than two years ago, and he's the best addition to our family. He is loved dearly. With that said, I had a disappointing experience with Lauren, who facilitated the adoption. The only credit I can give her is that she was honest when I asked why the dog I was interested was surrendered. Vegas Roots Rescue has higher than normal adoption fees (several hundred dollars) and while my dog, and all dogs for that matter are far more valuable than anything monetary, I was misled on what his adoption fees included. Lauren told me the fees included my dogs neuter, vaccines and microchip. When I picked him up from Warm Hearts Veterinary, I wasn't provided any paperwork, which I didn't think anything of at the time. One month later, I had to take my dog to the vet and they needed his records. I provided Warm Hearts info and they informed me that my dog was overdue for his vaccines. I reached out to Lauren to let her know that he was overdue, and that she had told me they were included. She rudely responded with, "are you asking me to pay for your dogs vaccines?" I said, "I'm asking you to honor what you said what was included." It was a small amount, but it was the principle for me. She paid the $35 bill and I was appreciative. The reason I'm leaving a 1-star is because I found out today from my Vet that my dogs microchip is not registered to anyone. Lauren assured me that his chip was updated with my information. This is shameful. To think I trusted that my dogs chip had my information for more than two yeas and it didn't. I wish I had checked a lot sooner, but I trusted her word. I immediately went online and paid the fee to have my information added. I believe that Lauren and Vegas Roots Rescue are in it to make money. If you adopt from them, make sure you get every record and get documentation that they actually updated your animals microchip record. read more

Very unorganized for a animal agency. We're a young family trying to adopt a puppy to complete our family. After several communication delays, we were able to meet the puppy we wanted to adopt, in a small lobby of an animal hospital, no treats, no toys. Our daughter who is a toddler had fell asleep in the car and was half asleep upon meeting; she had gotten pretty scared of the excitable puppy who had most likely been in a cage waiting. They had told us of a probationary period of two weeks for adjustment for the family and pup. After reaching out several times regarding the puppy after meeting the pup, they finally told us they wouldn't let us adopt her because they were concerned about my daughters initial reaction. Yet she's been asking the last few days where the puppy is. For a rescue they don't seem to want to adopt out dogs but rather see incoming donations. It's just sad these poor puppies will sit in a cage vs. being put into a loving home because a human had a different opinion. Guess it's back to Craigslist, because they won't deny someone with money and love to give. read more

The foster home did all the work. I paid the money for the dog back in November 2022 and be waiting for the paperwork for over month. I was told they were mailed out on 12/16/2022. I waited patiently before reaching out to find out where the paperwork was at. They didn't hesitate to get paid but won't respond to any text messages at all. Due to lack of communication and lack of professionalism I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. read more

I found a puppy on petfinder that I really wanted and e-mailed this group that I live in Tucson but wanted to adopt her and could drive up in a week and a half to get her. The owner/founder responded that they didn't hold dogs, which I totally understand; people not showing up etc.. I then offered to pay the adoption and any other fees and told her a little about myself and that this dog would be loved and well cared for and offered to provide references and asked her to please reconsider. She repeated that she didn't hold dogs and that if I don't live in Las Vegas I couldn't adopt. I am very disappointed and feel like she could have mentioned that right off the bat since I clearly told her I would be coming from Arizona. I read other negative reviews about this organization and have to wonder if they are really committed to finding good homes for their animals. read more
