I go here all the time! The Mondo Nachos are a must every time I go with friends. I take my non-vegan friends with me here all the time and it's always a hit. The pudding parfait is prime, especially when Hannah makes them. All the staff is always friendly and knowledgable about the menu. For a place called "veggie grill" I was hoping for a little more options with actual veggies. My boyfriend got the chicken plate with a side of seasonal veggies and received a couple of sadly roasted carrots. I got the Sonora bowl and it just felt like I was eating a big bowl of quinoa and black beans, not too exciting. My friend and I decided to finally try this place after we shopped at Costco. I ordered a buffalo mini wrap and she ordered a bowl of quinoa. First thing we noticed was the wait. We sat there waiting for a long time before the order came in. Granted there were a lot of people, but we've been to crowded restaurants before; the wait wasn't as long as this one. It was supposed to be a fast food restaurant. Second thing was when the order finally arrived. My friend got her bowl, and the server said: "let me get you a utensil for that." Seriously? It took him another minute or two to get her a fork...for quinoa... My buffalo wrap was good enough, but both our food were definitely overpriced for the portion that we received. Halfway through our food, I asked my friend "where's your water?" She specifically told the cashier she only wanted water for a drink. She wasn't given a cup or anything. I, on the other hand, didn't get any napkin with my buffalo wrap. Overall, it's clear we won't be coming back to this place. Service was horrible, and for someone who eats a lot of quinoa, my friend would rather cook the food herself rather than buy it from a restaurant like this. They sure were very frugal. read more

I was very excited to hear about this place. It's hard to find a good healthy place to eat. I actually like their food. My husband and my children on the other hand hated it. My son had the veggie burger. He took one bite and said "Yuck" and munched on the sides instead. My daughter had the mac and "cheese" and did not like it all all. She was eating off my plate instead.. and only because she was very hungry. My husband said his was ok. Thought it was a little pricey, but that was expected. Used to eat here 3 times per week up until typing this review. I order doordash twice and visit once but they have lost me as a customer. I have politely called the manager each time they destroy what should be a great meal and each time the manager explains he is sorry and will talk with the kitchen. I am and have been restaurant owner for quite some time and if the kitchen cannot make a simple item according to recipe there is usually much bigger problem within the restaurant and it usually bleeds over into cleanliness. I found Veggie Grill to be a disappointment. Having never been there, the helpful young lady at the entrance filled us in on what they offered. She mentioned that the Santa Fe Crispy Chickin' is their top seller, so I ordered it. What better thing to start with than something that must be a crowd-pleaser. I found the sandwich itself to be very bland. The "chickin" was just flat out not good, in my opinion. Didn't taste like much of anything. The toppings were fine. It had a decent guacamole on top. But the sandwich was wholly unsatisfying. I found myself wishing I had gone somewhere else for lunch, because I felt underwhelmed and paid a premium for what I thought would be great food. To add insult to injury, I looked at the nutrition facts when I got home on their website and they were TERRIBLE. I feel like Veggie Grill borderline cons people into thinking they are eating healthy. That may be a stretch, and I know it's everyone's individual responsibility to eat as healthy as they want. But this place obviously markets itself as a healthy vegan alternative to your everyday restaurant. I didn't just look at what I ate (I know it was probably not the healthiest item on Earth), but I looked at what my wife ate and several other items. I would have actually been better off going to a local fast-food joint in terms of nutrition, and I'm not exagerrating! This, to me, was truly the most disappointing thing about Veggie Grill. ok- this place is the best. a girl came into our office in Carlsbad and dropped off a STACK of cards for free entrees. no purchase required, just a free meal to try them out, which I thought was awesome, so I obviously tried them out. The santa fe chicken sandwich (not real chicken) was so good. I actually got it twice and the second time was even better. the customer service though is what I really like about it. all the people there are so friendly and accommodating, even when there's a line out the door. all the girls are so helpful with questions ( I had a ton of questions as usual ) and they answered honestly and gave me their opinions which I appreciate. all in all this place is good in my book. Well 1st of all the young man that was taking my order didn't seem like he knew what he was doing. He was not aware of the Christmas plate special that was there until I asked about it and if it was still valid in 1st he said no then I said below today's the 27th he said oh yes. I told him I wanted a cake for dessert they did not have the grilled peach cake that I wanted I told him I did not want any cookies I did not want carrot cake and those should have been enough to get him to suggest something else but he was not listening apparently. I went next door to get a Cake to bring home single serving, And after I came back because I was waiting for my order there was a piece of pumpkin spice cake that he could have told me about and he did not. I even give a tip even though it was a to go order, Bed they brought the band to me and it was a completely wrong order it was not the dinner it was the sandwich so I had to wait while they prepared the meal which was dry and there was no gravy hardly at all on the mashed potatoes, And I was expecting green beans like on the photo that said it was part of it with the almonds and an Orange butter sauce but that was not there and I was never told that they were out of the green beans and that they only had broccoli. So I am very very disappointed because I was expecting a meal with gravy to cover the mashed potatoes and green beans with Allman's and the butter never told about the replacement of another vegetable and the fact that he got the order completely wrong and I had to wait even longer I am not impressed with this restaurant at all. read more

I came here last night for the first time with my wife and never expected it to be all vegan. It was a little busy, but the food came out with the expectations that I was looking for. I ordered a bowl with black beans and added crispy chicken to it and the chicken tasted like real meat. The quality of the food was impeccable and my wife's meal was just as good as mine. My wife loves a place where the staff is welcoming and friendly and she definitely was impressed when one of the young ladies came and brought us our meal, apologized for the delay, and offered us to bring our silverware. They never hesitated to go above and beyond to tend to our needs. We will definitely be back to veggie grill. The only complaint that I have is the portions are fairly small, pricey, music was to loud. read more

Although I applaud the idea of all vegetarian grill,the food here leaves a lot to be desired. Had protabello sandwich with fries and it was bellow average in quality. Portabello sandwich you get at Karl Strauss nearby is waaay better than this and comes with sweet potator fries for about the same amount. Here neither the sandwich nor fries (regular) were that good. The food did not look that great either. Also all the items appear like fake grilled meat vs just having actual grilled veggies. I thought this was like vegetarian tender greens but I guess I should just stick to Tender Greens bc quality is much better. read more
