I got the "Grillin' Chickin" sandwich which was their grilled chillin' chicken (veggie protein patty), lettuce, avocado, red onions, tomato, cilantro pesto, and chipotle ranch on a wheat bun, and got the Sweetheart Fries (sweet potato fries) as a side. mmm mmm MMM it was sooo good! The "chicken" patty was so soft and juicy and it tasted just like real chicken! And all the tastes and flavors blended so well in my mouth. I devoured the whole sandwich in 5 minutes. The fries were also pretty good but not the addicting kind of good that I usually expect from sweet potato fries. My friend got the Papa's Portobello burger and hers was delicious as well! If you're a mushroom fan, get this. They also have really refreshing and yummy peach white iced tea! It may be a little too sweet for some people but to me, it was perfect. Last visit here I ordered the corn chowder and mac n cheese. I didn't really like the corn chowder, it was pretty watered down. The mac n cheese was made with organic brown rice pasta, this was ok too. My friend ordered the nachos, it was pretty tasty, chips weren't stale, but the portions were pretty small. It's aaaight. Ive been coming here for a while now and Ive never been let down...except when the line is out the door & I aint got no time for that. But the long line should indicate that this is an exceptional place to eat! My latest love at VG is the Bombay Bowl. Soooo freaking good. Loaded with grilled veggies, nuts and a mild curry sauce. Its also the right size if you're managing what you eat. VG also offers a great variety of iced teas and fresh fruit drinks (strawberry & lemonades). Service is polite, efficient and patient (patient with the 1st timers that is). I was impressed with the quality of the food today, my first visit for a late lunch with a co-worker. I made the decision to eat here based on the over 1,000 reviews on YELP and what appears to be almost a solid 4.75 overall star rating. Wow! And, IMHO, undoubtedly well deserved. I opted for the Portobello mushroom sandwich. Just an outstanding sandwich with the combination of quality ingredients, including the flavors of basil, garlic, caramelized onions, lettuce and a cilantro pesto. As my side, I chose the Kale salad, which was also excellent, slightly steamed, slightly warm with a nice, light creamy dressing that I wish I could describe more, other than saying it was really good! (See my pic). My pal had "Grillin' Chickin'" sandwich. He raved about it and his cup of soup (soup of the day) that appeared to be tomato bisque. (See my pics). We shared an order of house Sweet Potato Fries. They were equal to the best I ever had. Drinks: An array of ice tea at a help-yourself kiosk. I taste tested a couple and they were both outstanding, though I fixed myself an "Arnold Palmer" with their unsweetened black tea and homemade lemonade, which is also one of the choices at the drink kiosk. (See my pic). My only surprise at this place is there is no wait service. Customers order at the counter, you are given a numbered plaque and your food is brought to the table you chose to sit at. The folks who work here, both the one's that deliver food and clean the tables, were all very pleasant and friendly, a huge plus for me when I'm in L.A. I LOVE this place so much! It's fast and convenient. I've tried so many things but I have a few recommendations: a lot of people (myself included) are fans of their Santa Fe crispy chickin' sandwich. Want to eat a bit healthier? then grab a salad, their quinoa power salad is awesome plus you can always add blackened chikin' (my personal favorite), tempeh,crispy or grilled chikin'. Their buffalo chickin' salad is also very refreshing and not too heavy. Not too hungry? Then grab some delicious mondo nachos or some buffalo wings for an appetizer. I'm also ahhhh-dic-ted to their carrot cake for dessert. Too full? Not enough room? Then take it to go! No ifs or buts, you will thank me later. If you also download the app, you get $9 credit reward that you can use for your next purchase once you reach a certain amount of money spent. I'm not a vegetarian and had always been a little shy from trying any fake meats. But if there's any one place that can turn me into a vegetarian (God forbid)....that place would be Veggie Grill. When Veggie Grill first came out I was not first in line to try them out. It was actually a company catered event that I had my first taste of their Santa Fe Chicken Burger, Spring Mix salad with Ginger Miso dressing, Sweet Potato Fries and vegan Carrot Cake. That was 4 years ago and my order at VG has pretty much stayed the same since. They put something in that carrot cake that had me running back for more. I cannot believe that it's dairy free....so moist, so decadent, not too sweet but yet so flavorful. Once in a while I do mix it up with Kale salad (I would've said yuck a few years ago but Kale is my fav salad on that menu). I do believe Veggie Grill is partly responsible for kale going mainstream now :-) I love that they pack out food in recycled boxes and not the BPA contaminated foam boxes (how very green of you VG!). And it gets even better.....my two co workers won catered lunches from VG and it literally fed about 50 people each time, for FREE just by signing up. I visited Veggie Grill again to try their popular items: Santa Fe Chickin and of course, their sweetheart fries! Last time I ordered the grillin chickin and I wasn't so impressed. But seeing how Veggie Grill is highly reviewed by other yelpers, I wanted to give Veggie Grill another shot. After a bite of Santa Fe Chickin, I knew instantly that I made the right decision by trying Veggie Grill again! The Santa Chickin was fried to perfect crisp and the imitation chicken patty tasted great! The spicy vegan mayo went well with the fried chickin patty and my boyfriend even used it to dip his sweetheart fries! I've always wanted to try Veggie Grill and this one was conveniently only about two miles from LAX. In fact, the whole shopping center by this restaurant is a cool place to kill time if you've arrived too early for your flight or waiting to pick someone up from the airport. With that being said, I got a little too excited once I stumbled upon this location. I was fortunate enough to beat the lunch rush so ordering and getting our food was very quickly. I got the Nashville Hot Chickin sandwich and that was amazing! I was worried that it would be too hot but it wasn't hot at all. But that also may be because the coleslaw was so cooling and the pickles were so sweet that it balanced the hotness of the chickin. My mom got the bulgogi beef protein bowl. She enjoyed the flavor of the "beef" but didn't care too much for the texture. She also enjoyed the cauliflower rice that came with it. However, she was not a fan of brussel sprouts (but who is?). I am very glad that I tried this place out, especially because they have amazing strawberry lemonade; unfortunately, I'm only giving 4 stars because I don't think that I'll want to come back to Veggie Grill over other vegetarian restaurants around me. read more

A year or so ago I had a not so great experience at this Veggie Grill. So I recently decided to give Veggie Grill another chance. I went there for lunch this past Saturday. Upon entering, there was one customer in front of me who was taking a while with their order. During that time, Veggie Grill's staff member, who I later learned was named Alvaro, made eye contact and smiled, letting us know that he acknowledged us and that he would help us soon. Alvaro then took our order, providing a very warm welcome with a genuine smile and was very personable, making us feel very welcome. When I was trying to decide on a side item for my order, he suggested some other items including the crispy cauliflower, which I ordered and very much enjoyed. He also let us know about a delicious new desert that had just debuted that day and had just come out of the oven. So we took him up on his recommendation and loved it. He brought our food to our table and despite being busy with other customers, he checked in a few times to be sure that we were satisfied with everything. Alvaro is an outstanding employee, a valuable asset to Veggie Grill. I can't remember such outstanding customer service anywhere. Because of his outstanding service combined with the delicious food, I will now return to Veggie Grill as a frequent customer as well as recommending it to my many vegan family and friends. read more

Veggie grill is one of my favorite places to eat in Los Angeles. They never let me down. I ordered very late for pick up but they accommodated me and had the order hot and ready when we got there. The cashier was a super friendly guy who joked and assisted us in such a fun and friendly manner. I am vegan so of course this place had so much to choose from. I went with something new, the diablo quesadilla burger. It was such a new fun way to have a beyond burger. It is a cheese (vegan) quesadilla wrapped around a beyond burger with jalapenos, romaine lettuce, pisco add gallon and some special sauce on the side. When I tell you this was tasty... it had a lil kick to it from the jalapenos and it hit just right! Not too much heat, but just enough. I also had a side of fries, nothing is better than hot fries on the side lol. For my dessert, I went with carrot cake. The fact that they perfected vegan carrot cake is worth every penny I spent. It was moist and delicious. Last but not least, I see they still arent doing the self serve drinks. I used to have a matcha horchata drink but havent seen that in a while. I haven't eaten here in 10 years . But I decided this was the day to give my "Ex's" another try. I was able to walk in and place my order, it took about 15 minutes for everything to be ready. I ordered the super taco salad. Others in my party ordered the Hot Nashville "Chicken" sandwich with Buffalo "Chicken" fries . A BLTA and a Santa Fe "Chicken" Sandwich was ordered as well. All sandwiches came with fries. We tried some of the organic bottled sodas too. I normally don't drink soda , but the root beer was delicious. The fries were rustic cut fries. The salad had too much of that of a vinegar slaw taste. Also , too many Brussels sprouts for my liking . I enjoy them but it's a taco salad not a Brussels sprout salad. They charged me for buffalo "chicken " fries because I ordered that. But I didn't receive them. Love me some Veggie Grill. I've been coming here for about three years now and I always leave very satisfied, stuffed and happy! I can't say I've ever had a bad meal here either. Some of my faves include the all hale kale salad--perfectly massaged kale with a lightly sweet papaya dressing topped with quinoa, shredded carrots, corn, cilantro, diced tomatoes topped with golden fried chicken strips. The B Wing salad, which is what I had today has romaine with diced tomatoes and avocado with buffalo chicken Strips drizzled with bleu cheese dressing. Nachos...who doesn't love nachos?! Freshly fried tortilla chips smothered in melty cheese, cubed chicken, jalepenos, guac, tomatoes and every bite is crunchy yummy finger licking good (my three year old daughter will even lick the cheese off the chips and she's a super picky eater)! We brought our huge family of non-vegetarians and they all licked their plates clean. Always great service, friendly, fast and reasonably priced for the quality of food. Decided to eat something a little healthy and the overall reviews I read were sufficient for me to try it out. I was glad to NOT see a lunch rush, even at approximately 1215pm. (This area has the tendency to get really packed sometimes. I got lucky, I guess.) Even parking was a breeze. Anyway! Walked in and there are menus immediately available to your right. My friend and I took our time since it was our first time. We decided to try the tempura green bean stack to share. I got the Seoul Bowl with veggie steak, she got the Mediterranean supergreens salad. The green beans were fabulous! The tempura batter was very light but maintained its flavor. The veggies were very fresh - you can tell simply by its crunch and the sweetness that comes from the inside. The veggie steak on my seoul bowl was pretty comparable to those veggie burgers you can get in the freezer section. It was pretty good once dipped in the spicy sauce, though, combined with the brown rice, onions and carrots. The arugula was also a nice touch. It was pretty good for a veggie plate. The burger was bland and dripping with grease and water from drenched lettuce that soaked my buns. But what's worse, the sweet potato fries, which aren't cheap mind you, were flaccid. I'm a carnivore, but I am actually a fan of Veggie Grill. When it first opened, I thought the menu was a little minimal. I remember the staff giving out samples to the line outside, and my vegetarian friend asked if they had cheese. At the time, they did not, because they could not find a vegan cheese that melted. The menu has since greatly expanded, and there are many delicious options, including vegan cheese that "melts." My favorite is the Santa Fe Crispy Chicken. It's basically a "fried chicken" sandwich, and I have no idea what they are using as the chicken, but it tastes and feels authentic. I actually prefer it to a real chicken sandwich, because you're obviously bypassing the fat and veins that you sometimes come across in meat. I get it with a side of sweetheart (sweet potato) fries and an Arnold Palmer (half iced tea/half lemonade). If I'm going to eat vegetarian food, I normally opt for Asian cuisine, because I feel that's more interesting, and I am a huge fan of a lot of flavor. But, Veggie Grill has always satisfied even the meat-a-saurus in me, so I'm giving it thumbs up. This particular location is always packed, so expect a line, especially during lunch. The frosting was so creamy, the cake was perfectly moist. Uuuuuuuuuuugh now I want to go eat there again! The drinks are delicious. I always get the Pomegranate Green Tea but sometimes I'll try the Peach Black Tea. They also have Strawberry Lemonade and Lemonade and two other drinks which I've forgotten at this time. This is probably the best Veggie Grill location in southern CA... trust me; I've dined at nearly every location. First of all, customer service is excellent. You're greeted immediately upon entering and the manager is so friendly, serving dishes, clearing plates, taking dessert orders, etc. Those are the best managers because you know they truly care about their work and team. I ordered the Far East bowl with the sesame-crusted "chicken," and I loved how flavorful the bowl was. From the brown rice marinated in a curry sauce to the roasted veggies, I was so happy with my decision to dine here. My friend ordered the seasonal barbacoa bowl and enjoyed it. I personally thought it was too salty for my taste, but she enjoyed it. I noticed that this location also don't skimp on the fries. Excellent! We also ordered 2 drinks and I loved being able to try all their drink offerings - my personal favorites were the açaí tea (no sugar added!) and the cucumber-mint lemonade! Yummy!! The food at veggie grill is always great. They offer different sides. My favorite are the Yukon fries and sweetheart fries. The seasonal menu is awesome and delicious. They have carrot cake, chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate parfait that are all yummy in your tummy. The only item I have never liked is the mac n cheese. read more
